Jane was looking at the status window as she brought a juicy piece of the chicken breast towards her mouth. Taking a bite, she enjoyed the taste of the chicken sprinkled with a hint of lemon to entice one's appetite. Jane discovered that there seemed to be some problem with her status window. "What's with this stucking up on 500..." Jane murmured while chewing.

"What?" Rose asked curiously as she turned her eyes away from the food served on the dining table to look at Jane sitting right next to her. "Nothing, so what were you talking about?" Jane shifted her attention back to rose. "Yes, I feel so angered hearing what Professor Erika told us today in our class," Rose said as she blew on the soup that was on her spoon before drinking it.

"Professor Erika told us many things in the class today, what would it be that made you feel so indignant my dear Rose." Jane asked Rose.

"The thing about the limitation of the field of transfiguration magic. The fact that it depends so much on one's mana that only those with high intelligence stats can climb high in this field." Rose said with a sigh and continued. "Anyone above 500 stat points in any of the status attributes can be called an A-Ranker. Do you know how difficult it is to become one and how few reach that level? Professor said that just to be able to explore the possibilities one is capable of doing with Transfiguration magic one needs to have at least 500 stat points in intelligence stat."

"Don't fret much over it. From the classes till now we know that Transfiguration is the easiest to learn so it having such a condition is not something to be surprised about. All things are difficult some at the start while some at a later stage. Besides, you shouldn't even be concerned because you're definitely gonna become a very strong mage in the future and those 500 stats won't mean much to you at that time." Jane said as a matter of fact.

"You really think so?" Rose asked a bit excited.

"You don't?" Jane asked back not minding to reply to her previous question.

"Well...I've never been told something like that directly. Everyone at home just tells me to work hard if I don't want to disgrace the name of Lambarts..." Rose said as her voice slowly dyed down as she reached the end of her sentence.

"They must want you to not get it to your head," Jane said to which Rose silently nodded while looking at her food. Skyleane also silently stared at Rose and not initiated a chat because she felt that she needed to be left by herself for some time. Jane also noticed this and shifted her attention to Skyleane. They both talked and joked before finally finishing their lunch. With that, they all went to attend their next classes.

Professor Numen started that class like usual, which was, by making the students meditate and circulate their mana throughout their body. After that was done Professor Numen clapped his hands once to grab the attention of the students as he said "Alright students, I believe now you all have a basic understanding of mana. Now today's task is rather difficult for most of the new students like you but there are always a few gems who are able to clear it easily. Are you one of the few?"

Saying that Professor Numen snapped his fingers and whiteboards came out of the ground. They numbered equal to the total number of students in the classroom. "Let me explain to you all, today's task. You've already learnt to guide your mana to your hand and from there to the mana paper on your hand. This one is much more difficult than that and I'm not expecting all of you to be able to do it today, but I would love to see it if you can." Professor Numen gave a smile after he said that and paused.

Many students after hearing that griped their fists tightly in order to tell themselves that they needed to do their best. All of the students who came to the academy were bright ones and as every bright student, they too had their own ambitions they wanted to fulfil. Performing greatly in such tests would naturally prove their abilities to the teachers and they would gain their favour.

"You'll be needing to stand 10 meters away from the board and launch your mana towards it. Here's a hint, it would be much easier for you if you'll use your hand to do this. The whiteboard is receptive to your mana so it will react accordingly. Mind you, since the mana is travelling through the air without any supply, it will slowly get absorbed by the atmosphere so you need to take the amount of mana you'll be inputting in your attack so that it reaches the target. Let me show you by example first." Professor Numen said and pointed his palm towards the whiteboard. 

Everyone's attention focused on Professor Numen's palm as blue-coloured mana soon started enveloping his palm like a sphere and when he felt the amount was enough he jerked it with his hand as the ball of mana launched itself towards the target in a swift manner and landed on the board. The whiteboard turned blue right after the attack to represent the nature of the mana with which it was attacked.

"Alright, I believe you all will have many doubts after seeing this in your mind but don't ask me now,  you all should try simulating what I did for an hour or more before coming to me with your doubts, at that time you would be familiar enough with the task to ask appropriate questions related to it. Alright, it's time to show what you've got. Go stand in front of each whiteboard all of you." Professor Numen said as he indicated the gathered students to do today's task.
