Rinnie kept muttering like a bird as he waltzed through the hallway. Apparently, Hugo's quarters were far — too far from Alice as his sister's room was in the west wing of the inner palace while Hugo's was in the far east. When they finally reached the door of his chambers, Hugo paused for a moment as he gazed down.
The side of his lips curled up because she didn't really sleep. Did she think he was joking when he said he wouldn't let her sleep?
He kicked the door open, strutting at a leisurely pace as he wasn't in a hurry... since he didn't know where to start with her. On her lips? Neck? Shoulder? How about her thigh? Legs? Kissing her feet wasn't even a bad idea, as Rinnie was the only person who would make him want to do that.
He was excited. From the surface, it didn't show, but within? His body was on fire. There was no way to release these emotions any other way.
As they approached the bed, Hugo stopped when she called in a weak voice. He looked down, seeing that she gazed up with her eyelashes fluttering ever so tenderly.
"Hmm?" he raised a brow as she was pressing her lips together.
"Hugh, I..." Rinnie bit her lower lip while clutching his chest. "I..."
"You...?"
"I... feel... sick..." she held it in as she started seeing two... three Hugo. She had been feeling a bit dizzy since earlier, and it only worsened when he carried her back to his room. Every time he took a step, she would bounce lightly. With her current condition, those slight movements felt like violent shakes that were enough to make her lips go cold as she curbed in what wanted to escape from her system.
"Rinnie..." Hugo's voice was low as he rubbed his fingertip against her shoulder. "Don't..."
BLERG!
Hugo's excitement and expression died altogether. The sudden mucus that damped his nightshirt which touched his skin was the only thing he felt next while Rinnie clutched his shoulder tightly. It was not like this disgusted him. Heck. He wouldn't mind showering using his enemy's blood or sleeping beside the piles of bodies during the war.
"I'm mad at Alice again," he muttered tonelessly, trying to rub her back as she retched uncontrollably. "She better not parade in front of me tomorrow or I will tie her up in the tower and leave her hanging from the window. She could die while shouting her lungs out for fucking help."
His eyes glinted as he continued gently stroking Rinnie's back, despite the limitation while planning Alice's doom with passion. He should've known that aside from passing out and making people speak the truth, the alcohol also had these terrible other effects. Rinnie's honesty blinded him he forgot these things. If only he didn't, he would've chased Sally out of her room since it was the nearest.
"Hmm. It's fine, Bambi. I don't mind these things," he cajoled while rubbing her back, not even batting an eye at the vomit on them. "I can still take you without a problem, but... I know it will bother you. Hygiene is important for you, after all."
Although Rinnie never said it aloud, she had been very mindful of a person's hygiene. She used to stare a lot when someone wasn't clean enough and looked pleased when people looked clean. Strangers didn't bother her much, but she usually paid more attention to the people around her.
That was the reason no one in the pack would approach her without even washing up. Also, when she saw him earlier in his uniform, she looked especially pleased. So... Hugo was restricted from just ripping out her clothes off and taking off his to continue what he had in mind.
It was supposed to be their first. It wouldn't be the best first mating night if they smell puke, but it would definitely be a memorable one for sure.
His eyes fell on the bell resting on the bedside table. Hugo lifted his foot, kicking the bell to make it ring. When no one came, he stretched his leg and kicked it again. The bell flew against the wall and instantly broke. He glanced at the door. One or two servants should've heard it because people in here had keen ears.
Just as he expected, two maidservants rushed into his room. Since he left the door ajar, the maids immediately caught his figure standing inside.
"Run her a bath. Now," he ordered coldly, glancing over his shoulder. When the maids didn't act a second later, he repeated. "I said, now."
"Ye — yes, your highness!"
"People here have become slower picking things up since the last time I was in this place." Hugo clicked his tongue before gazing down at her. Rinnie calmed down, rested her chin on his shoulder weakly.
"Hugh..." she tried to keep her eyes open, but they felt too heavy to maintain them. "... I'm sorry."
"It's fine, Bambi. Do you feel better now?" he asked in a gentle tone, watching her cheek squished on his shoulder. A light chuckle slipped past his lips as she was super wasted, but still adorable.
"I can forgive you for everything you do," he muttered as his eyes partially closed while keeping it on her. "Just don't leave me. That's all I ask."
Another sigh escaped his mouth, feeling a bit helpless the more he stared at her. How strange, he thought. That he was at the mercy of such a frail-looking young lady. He was aware she wasn't his mate, but somehow, he believed she was for him and he was for her.
Ever since that time, years prior to the present time, it had always been her that his heart, mind, body, and soul yearned. Not a single woman he met in his life had caught his eyes.
Just Rinnie.
"I'm going insane, my Luna…" he breathed out and leaned the side of his head against hers. She was like the moon, which brought forth the worst in him, and even if he tried to stop its effect… he would be forever bound with her.. But he didn't hate it.
