Chapter 221: I Reserve That Seat for My Girlfriend Only. Do You Wish to Sit In It?

After Cheng Dongge calmly thought it through, he supposed that he started a relationship with Huang Ziyue because he was touched by her persistence in the beginning, and thought that it was worth a try. He engaged with her later as he felt that he needed to be responsible. However, they had been together for three years now and it was time to straighten things out.

He had never truly fallen in love with her.

Maybe he was truly fond of her, but the feeling was different from what he felt towards Qi Chengyue.

In reality, this was a huge world with countless individuals. How many of us could meet the one special person in our lives who could think and feel the way true lovers do?

Most of us would make do with someone whom we felt affection toward; otherwise, we might never find the love we fantasize about for the rest of our lives.

“I saw you confess to Qi Chengyue on the news the other day, and I was heartbroken. That was when I knew that I would be unable to let you go. I knew you did that because, as Qi Chengzhi’s assistant, you were obligated to help Qi Chengyue out. Despite that, I still felt heartsore because I had lost something that once belonged to me. I found that I have always loved you, and it is impossible for me to let you go,” said Huang Xinyue earnestly.

Cheng Dongge frowned and looked at the rearview mirror. He saw that Huang Xinyue’s face was full of regret and sorrow. He had never realized that she was so good at talking to herself.

Initially, she had thought that he despised her, but, now that she had mentioned that his confession had just been a temporary measure to help Qi Chengyue out, she seemed to disregard the things he had said before.

“I knew I had been mistaken and lost my bearings, but now I’ve figured it out. Dongge, if I were to break up with Gao Jingqiu, could you forgive me and be with me again? I know I’ve hurt you, probably to the point where you can’t trust me like you did before. But I believe that, in time, I will prove myself to you again. It’s okay if we don’t get engaged or never wed. This time, I’ll prove to you that I will never betray you again.” Huang Xinyue was sitting in the backseat, to the side of Cheng Dongge, looking at him yearningly.

“You came to see me because you wanted to tell me this?” Cheng Dongge asked indifferently.

Huang Xinyue lowered her head and spoke softly. “At first, I planned to have a meal with you, but I know that you are still angry with me, so I might as well tell you now. It may not be good timing, but I really needed you to know.”

Cheng Dongge took a glance at the roadside. This place was far enough from Qilin, it was unlikely that they would be seen by his colleagues, so he stopped his car by the curb and said, “Get out.”

After saying that, he exited first.

Huang Xinyue thought Cheng Dongge was going to bring her to a café or the like. She took a look at the street nearby and saw a few shops which had quite nice appearances. This cleared her doubts. She came out of the car too.

Unexpectedly, Cheng Dongge opened the door of the driver’s seat and nodded at her coolly. “Goodbye.”

He then shut the door and drove away before she could get back inside in time.

Huang Xinyue stood there, mouth agape and speechless, watching him drive his Touareg farther and farther away. Once the car was out of sight, she looked around and decided to take a taxi; but it would be very difficult to get a taxi at this time of day.

Cheng Dongge drove his car to the entrance of his residential area but did not enter. He stopped his car by the road and phoned his neighbor.

“Uncle Zhang, it’s me, Cheng Dongge,” said Cheng. “Are you still sawing wood downstairs?”

His neighbor, Uncle Zhang, had retired and did not have any other hobby besides carpentry. He would be sawing wood into pieces to be made into small tables or shelves on his long bench downstairs for the whole day, regardless of the seasons of the year.

“Still there? That’s great, Can you help me to look for an Audi TT. It’s silver in color, and the plate number is N3633,” said Cheng Dongge.

Qi Chengyue was a forthcoming person and usually wore a candid expression, so it was easy to predict her actions.

She surely could not restrain herself after seeing him with Huang Xinyue. There was a 90 percent chance that she would be waiting at his house for him to return.

Uncle Zhang asked him to wait for a moment and went to have a look. After a while, he told him that there was indeed an Audi TT stopping in front of his block.

The corners of Cheng Dongge’s mouth could not help but curve upwards. He thanked him and stayed in the car without going back to his house.

Qi Chengyue could not stop staring at the time displayed on her car’s screen. It was already eight. Maybe he had forgiven Huang Xinyue and they were on a date?

Or… They had gone to…

They may have inevitably experienced some resurgence of their old passion after not seeing each other for a long time.

Maybe they had gone to a hotel?

Otherwise, may she witness Cheng Dongge bringing Huang Xinyue back to his home soon?

Qi Chengyue had a hand pressing on her tummy. Her stomach was empty as she had not eaten. She was feeling periodic waves of sharp pain in her stomach because of her gastritis.

Her left arm was supporting her bent body on the steering wheel and her right hand was pressing on her stomach. She was suffering and feeling sorry for herself.

The lights inside her car were turned off. All of a sudden, a pair of beaming headlights shone directly at her, blinding her. She used her hands to block the light and saw Cheng Dongge sitting inside the Touareg through her narrowed eyes.

She promptly wiped away her tears and sat up straight. She forgot about her stomach ache. She stared nervously at him, unsure if she could take it if she saw Cheng Dongge and Huang Ziyue getting out the car together.

She felt miserable and could not stop her tears when she thought about the possibility.

Her heart was beating so fast, it was as if it was going to burst out from her throat. Finally, the car’s headlights turned off. A while later, a person exited the car.

Cheng Dongge was alone with nobody beside him, and it was impossible that anyone else would come out of the car because he had just locked the doors.

Qi Chengyue exploded in anger as she watched Cheng Dongge walk towards her.

She could no longer hide. She furiously slammed her door shut with a ferocious swing. She locked her car doors and stalked toward Cheng Dongge.

Upon seeing her, Cheng Dongge asked in a surprisingly nonchalant tone, “What are you doing here?”

He opened his unit’s door and walked straight inside.

Qi Chengyue caught up with him immediately inside the elevator. As the elevator ascended, she could not restrain herself further. “You had dinner with Huang Ziyue? Are you getting back together with her?” demanded Qi Chengyue.

Cheng Dongge glanced at her but remained silent.

“Cheng Dongge, answer me!” Qi Chengyue raised her head furiously.

The elevator stopped. Cheng Dongge walked out of the elevator quietly. Qi Chengyue followed after him while stamping her feet unable to find another way to express her anger.

Cheng Dongge opened the door to his house and Qi Chengyue followed him inside.

Qi Chengyue slammed the door forcefully behind her. “Why did Huang Ziyue come and meet you? By the look of it, she seems unable to get over you. Are you getting back together with her?”

Cheng Dongge dropped his house and car keys into a glass bowl on the cabinet by the door while walking towards the living room. He loosened his tie and threw his coat casually over the sofa.

“Talk to me! What are you trying to achieve by keeping quiet?” Qi Chengyue who was filled with rage followed him into the living room.

“Why do you care about me? You are not my girlfriend. Why are you so concerned about who I see or get back together with?” Cheng Dongge turned his body and looked at her. His calm and unperturbed expression was in stark contrast to her fury.

“Cheng Dongge, do you have any self-respect? She treated you so badly, and now you want to throw yourself her again just because she’s returned? Both of you were standing right in front of the company’s entrance, clearly seen by all your colleagues. Aren’t you afraid of being the laughing stock of the company?” Qi Chengyue’s eyes were bloodshot from exasperation.

“You are always afraid of what people are saying. This is my private matter; why should I care what others think? I am not living for the sake of others. As long as I am happy, do their opinions really matter?” Cheng Dongge’s expression turned serious as he countered her indifferently.

“Even so, Huang Ziyue has let you down before! There are so many women available, why must you choose Huang Ziyue even though you have many other choices? You were being played for a fool before, yet you are still willing to accept her now that she had returned to you? Although you will get played by her once again? Cheng Dongge, how deep is your love to make you foolishly accept her without question? You know her true character, don’t you? There are many women better than her. She could betray you again; she’s done it before! You can get back together with her if she is a good woman, but how can you accept an awful woman like her?” Qi Chengyue’s eyes were reddening obviously now.

“Why are you so emotional? You followed me to my blind date, and now you’re upset that you saw Huang Ziyue meeting me today. No matter what I’ve said, you’ve refused to start a relationship with me, so why do you care about who I am seeing? Even if I am cheated on by her again, so what? How could you stop me from dating other women and starting a new life when you keep rejecting me? I may be making a fool of myself by taking her back, but who are you to comment on me?” Cheng Dongge was glaring at Qi Chengyue, his stony expression ruthless.

Qi Chengyue was dumbfounded. She clenched her teeth until her chin started to tremble. “Cheng Dongge, you said you love me, right? Is this the way you love someone? Falling in love with me, dating the person you met on a blind date, and forgiving your ex-girlfriend all at the same time? No man is trustworthy nowadays, right? Is it necessary for you to humiliate me? Jian Yi is shameless: he married me and fell in love with another woman. But you made me believe that there are still dependable men who truly know how to love a woman and cherish her. But now you are doing this to me. Are you trying to tell me that men should not be trusted?”

Qi Chengyue burst into tears, waving her hand at him, but not really hitting him.

“I know it’s my fault, I definitely cannot be with you, but I still try to get involved in your matters. I can’t help it, even though I know I’m acting crazy! Yes, I love you. I absolutely adore you. I could neither tolerate seeing you be with another woman, nor go for blind dates, nor be in love with other women and gaining their favor. I don’t like it and can’t stand for it at all! I would still continue following you to your blind dates in the future, although I know that I have no right to do so. I can’t bear the thought of Huang Ziyue getting back together with you. I am not letting you get bullied again. Nobody is allowed to be with you!

“Cheng Dongge, I like you. I wish to be the woman who has the privilege to be angry at you, to feel jealous, and to take care of you. Not letting other women approach you! That’s what I want to do! You are such a villain, you’ve made me feel so sad. You said you love me. How could you change so fast? I never imagined a person could change this fast. If you met a woman you deemed suitable for you, are you going to bring her for registration of marriage right away? Then don’t care about me anymore–”

All of a sudden, Cheng Dongge extended his arms and pulled her into his embrace. Before she could say anything, he used his lips to seal her mouth.

Qi Chengyue felt him slam his burning lips on hers. His lips were tender and hot, and he was pressing them firmly to her lips. She was thrust backward, and he cupped the back of her head. She could feel the scalding temperature of his palm even through her thick long hair.

She was pushed backward until her back was to the wall. Her head was pushed against the wall by the sheer force of his powerful kiss. He cushioned her head using his palm, so she did not feel any pain. On the contrary, she felt that his palm was soft and warm, steadying her.

His lips were locked to hers and parted them gently.

Qi Chengyue did not resist. She was gentle and yielding. Her lips were trembling slightly from nerves and the heat. Not long after, his tongue started brushing gently to her teeth, then moved in aggressively. She was fully compliant throughout the kiss..

Now she knew how huge the difference was between a kiss filled with love and a kiss that lacked it.

She had not known that Jian Yi was kissing her half-heartedly until she was kissed by Cheng Dongge.

Cheng Dongge was holding her face, and slowly withdrew. He lowered his head and looked deep into her reddened eyes. This was when she noticed his breathing was tremulous as well.

Her lipstick had faded and the original pink-color of her lips could be seen. They appeared to be more swollen and reddish compared to before, but they looked more tender now.

She opened her large eyes and stared at him. Her eyes were red and her eyelashes were soaked with tears.

Cheng Dongge sighed affectionately and pecked her lips softly. He then continued to kiss her along her lips toward the corner of her mouth. He kissed the tears that were flowing down her cheeks and followed the trail slowly upwards to clean them with his lips and tongue.

He kissed up to the corner of her eyes. Qi Chengyue was shaking slightly, involuntarily closing her eyes and let him continue kissing her eyelashes and eyelids.

Qi Chengyue could smell his scent all around her; it possessed a masculine and soothing quality that stimulated her senses.

“I have done nothing with Huang Ziyue. She does have the intention to get back together with me. I guess she knew she couldn’t control Gao Jingqiu, and their relationship had deteriorated. I knew that many colleagues who were passing by saw us at the company’s entrance. That’s why I did not stay there for long and asked her to get into my car. I dumped her beside the road after we were far away from the company,” whispered Cheng Dongge. His body was still leaning against hers. She seemed to be enjoying this moment of intimacy.

“Then why did you came back so late?” Qi Chengyue already believed him. This was unlike her attitude towards Jian Yi, because that man was not trustworthy.

In contrast, Cheng Dongge had never lied to her before, so she did not feel the need to be suspicious.

She liked the feeling that she was able to control him. Her heart felt an immense warmth when she was listening to his sincere explanation.

“I was waiting at the entrance of my residential area all the while. I asked my neighbor to confirm that you were waiting for me here. I purposely wanted you to feel anxious.” Cheng Dongge explained honestly without hiding anything. “If I did not compel you to feel this way, how would you tell me the truth?”

He looked at her carefully, afraid that she would be infuriated. After all, he had deliberately caused her to be so upset.

Unexpectedly, Qi Chengyue only poked him hard in the chest. “I was right. You are so bad; how could I have previously thought you were a good man?”

Cheng Dongge breathed a sigh of relief after seeing that she was not angry.

She had stopped crying now. He moved his hands, which were previously holding her face, to her waist and hugged her tightly. She felt that her waist was about to snap, as if he was attempting to embed her into his body.

The corners of Qi Chengyue’s mouth could not help but curve upwards. For a long time, she had seen how Qi Chengzhi cherished Song Yu. She accidentally witnessed them kissing one time when she entered their office. She saw Qi Chengzhi embrace Song Yu tightly. She really admired their love.

Now, she finally understood what the feeling they experienced.

She did not feel any pain; her hands were clasping shyly at his chest. She slid her shaking hands upwards and finally summoned enough courage to embrace his neck.

She thought she was being a little pretentious. She had been married, but, when she was with Cheng Dongge, she felt like this was her first love.

She leaned against his chest. Cheng Dongge was delighted by her action, and he lowered his head to see her blushing. Even her ears were red.

He whispered just beside her ears,” My front passenger seat is always vacant. That day, Jiang Xiyao wanted to sit in it but I did not allow it. Today, Huang Ziyue wanted to sit, too, but was stopped by me. I reserve that seat for my girlfriend only. Do you wish to sit in it?”

Her ears had flushed deeper, but she neither raised her head nor answered him.

Cheng Dongge was holding his breath. He was afraid she would start splitting hairs and dwelling on other minor matters now that her anger had dissolved.

He waited for her response quietly, as pressing her might only make things worse.

Finally, Qi Chengyue looked up and nodded shyly. “I’ll sit in it.”

Since she was incapable of letting him go, and felt heartache when she saw him with another woman, she feared this feeling might last a lifetime; so she decided to end this bothersome situation.

Instantly, Cheng Donge’s eyes brightened. He lowered his head and kissed her deeply while propping her up to be at the same height as him. He pushed her against the wall again and continued kissing her.

Qi Chengyue held his face with both of her hands reflexively, burying her long and slender fingers into his hair.

She was almost suffocated by his kiss, but both of them were not willing to let each other go.

Cheng Dongge relaxed his kiss slightly, but still pressed his lips to hers without opportunity for separation.

She had, at long last, stopped herself from splitting hairs and being too tough on herself. She had decided to let go of everything and be with him. His heart was beating so fast, he could not stop quivering in joy as he hugged her.

He stopped his long kiss, but was still pecking at her intermittently. Qi Chengyue was blushing as she did not expect him to be so passionate.

He was a reticent man, but now he had turned sickly sweet and could not stop adhering to her.

He not only kissed her lips, but covered all other areas of her face as he kissed her repeatedly.

Besides her face, Qi Chengyue’s ears and scalp were also blushing. There was the sound of rushing blood in her ears. Her face was burning hot after being kissed by his lips.

Finally, Cheng Dongge released her and her feet landed on the ground. He was still hugging her, refusing to let go. It was like he had never hugged a woman in his life before.
