Itachi and Sasuke met face to face and while fighting using genjutsu, the two had a conversation about the history of the Uchiha, Madara and the "real" reason Itachi wanted to remove Sasuke's eyes.

By the time Sasuke managed to escape Itachi's Tsukuyomi, the genjutsu battle was over and soon after the ninjutsu battle began.

Itachi used Amaterasu, but Sasuke protected himself by using his cursed seal, Sasuke then came down and fired the Fire Release: Great Fire Dragon Technique towards Itachi, although it only managed to burn one of Itachi's sleeves.

Almost out of chakra, he tells Itachi about his final jutsu which, like Amaterasu, is impossible to avoid. Sasuke then used his Kirin, on Itachi, who had his Akatsuki cloak burned off as a result.

However, Itachi managed to survive by using his Susanoo to defend himself from this devastating attack. As the Kirin had used up all of Sasuke's chakra, Orochimaru was able to break free and violently appeared through his Yamata no Jutsu. However Itachi was easily able to cut off the seven serpent heads, leaving only one whose Orochimaru came out of his mouth and thanked Sasuke for freeing him, allowing him to take control of Sasuke's body.

Itachi, however, stabbed Orochimaru with the Totsuka sword to seal him, thus causing the Susanoo to remove the Cursed Seal from Sasuke's body.

As Itachi began to weaken, the Susanoo weakened as well, causing Sasuke to see an opportunity to attack, but this was in vain, as the Susanoo was still able to protect Itachi.

As his last option, Itachi was forced to push Sasuke against a wall, and since Sasuke was defenseless, Itachi crawled close to him. Although it looked like he was going to attack Sasuke, Itachi just touched Sasuke's forehead with a finger and smiled before saying, "Forgive me... Sasuke..."

After saying that he fell dead to the ground.

Sasuke also fell to the ground with empty eyes, and raindrops fell on his face but he didn't care about it anymore.

Itachi opened his eyes slowly, he didn't move and was just silent as he looked up, thinking about his life, from the moment he killed his own parents to the moment he was killed by Sasuke. His eyes exuded an endless sadness.

After thinking about his life for hours, or maybe years, Itachi stood looking up without the courage or strength to get up, he didn't know how much time had passed, and he didn't seem to care either, all he wanted was to stay silent, in his thoughts.

And without Itachi realizing it, his body was being carried by a strange energy...

Itachi looked around with an indifferent look, he realized that he was in a kind of empty space, around him were several stars of different colors that stretched to the horizon.

He didn't have time to analyze his current situation, as in a flash all the colored stars came towards him and immediately entered his body.

Itachi was shocked by this, but it wasn't for long as his consciousness slowly began to fade, it seemed as if he was sinking into a sea of darkness, and before he lost consciousness completely, Itachi saw a red cube coming towards him and entering his body.

He didn't know how much time had passed, he could only feel his body drowning in darkness, his feelings, sadness, loneliness and regret, were slowly fading away. For the first time in his life after killing his clan, Itachi felt peaceful and relaxed.

It was as if he had finally discovered the 'peace' he had always sought.

His memories came one by one in his mind... from his birth to his death.

Itachi could 'see' his choices from another point of view... how his decisions affected those around him.

He felt he had finally reached the end of the darkness, Itachi felt he was lying on something, soft.

He frowned, but after a few attempts Itachi managed to control his body and sat up in bed, he realized that somehow he was different.

"Where am I, wasn't I dead? And why do I look younger? Also my body looks different too..." Itachi thought checking his current body.

His appearance was still the same, but his clothes were strange and comfortable, the only thing that had changed about him was that his skin had become tighter and softer, and with a whiter tone.

"That's strange, I'm sure this is not my body..." Itachi thought finishing checking his body.

His thoughts were interrupted due to the door from where he was standing being opened by someone.

"Ah! Far Ge-ge you... You finally woke up!"

A scream of surprise from a girl was heard by his ears and the same girl appeared in his line of vision.

At a glance, the girl dressed in green appeared to be 15 or 16 years old. She was as beautiful as the snow and with charming pink lips and a delicate nose. A marked look of deep surprise was expressed by her eyes as clear and transparent as a pool of translucent summer water. Her face displayed a dazzling gentleness and lightness. At such a young age she already exhibited great charm, who could imagine what kind of beauty she would become in the future.

Looking at the girl, Itachi felt a whirlwind of information being printed in his mind, he looked at the girl and unconsciously let a word escape his lips, "Sister?!"
