Marc, a rather scrawny, black haired male in ripped up clothes, pushes the candles and metal jugs down from the tables, then helps Lark place the behemoth on top of it. Lex rushes over to a drawer. She pulls out a glass tube containg some kind of purplish-black paste. She lets the lid go flying and spreades the mixture reeking of rotten flesh inside his shoulder-hole first, then inside the two wounds in his gut. She places her hands on top of his core again, and sends out a wave or electricity once more. As it reaches the wounds, they flare up in bright torqouise flames, heating up the room like a campfire. If he weren't already unconcious, the pain of those flames would have given him the rest. As the horrid stench of burning flesh creeps into the saviors' noses, the tissue of the injured's blazing wounds starts slowly reconnecting. Squriming around like slimy tentacles, strands of flesh arise from the brim of the hole in his shoulders and entangle with one another, steadily filling it. As the process nears completion, the outer layers of his injuries stay covered in blood, his skin unable to heal. The three lift him up together, carry him into a small bedroom, lay him down on the bed and cover him up.
"I'm surprised this worked out so well, considering how severe his wounds were. He has to have an incredible of Chi if his body can regenerate even that.", Lex explains to her friends. "The rest is up to him, but either way, it's gonna take a while for him to wake up. I'm gonna go rest up myself now.", she tells them, and heads for the door.
Marc blocks her way out with his arm. "Before you leave, please tell me you got into this by an accident.", he begs her.
"It was an accident. I had gone to catch some fish, saw a helmet drift down the water, and took a closer look. Then I saw him drifting down the river, and even though I told myself that there's no way he's alive and that the river is dangerous, my body decided to jump on his own.", she explains to him.
Uhhh. Marc starts stroking his nonexistent beard, and then rolls his eyes. "You're an idiot. I really don't want to lose you to something so stupid, but I can't really blame you when I wouldn't have acted otherwise.", he tells her as he lifts his arm. "Rest up properly, we'll wake you up if anything happens."
As the sun sets, and streaks of golden-reddish light iluminate the wooden house through it's large windows, two more people return to their shared home, Kaze and Lilly. Kaze is a short man with curly, dark brown hair and a somewhat athletic build, but a posture like he's always hanging forward a little, and Elaine is a petite woman with a curvy, yet also fit body and light brown, straight hair almost reaching to her hips. They're both carrying bags full of different foods, mainly consisting of green vegetables and potatoes, and they're both covered in dirt from head to toe. But Elaine has something else strapped to her back, too. As she enters the house, she puts down her bags and excitely calls the others over. "Guys, guess what I found! You won't believe it, come down here quickly!". Squeek. Squeek. Squeek. Marc descends the wooden stairs in the corner of the living room slowly, yawning.
"You don't have to be so noisy.", he tells her without even bothering to turn his head towards her. He comes closer, then stares at her with a tired look. "So, what did you want to show me? Was it worth the trouble of going down here?", he asks, but turns to Kaze. "Well, was it?".
"Sure was. I can't remember when we've ever been this lucky."
"Wait, was it really?! What have you found?", Marc asks excitedly, as if he had been woken up by a bucket of cold water.
"I'll tell you when the others are here.", she tells him enthusiastically. "Come on guys, get down here!", she yells.
"Let them. Lex needs to rest, and Lark is busy right now. I'll tell you what's going on later.", he explains in a sober voice. "But now, let's see what you've got!".
Elaine pulls on the strap on her shoulder, and reveals the item hanging on her back.
"A… helmet? That's what got you this excited?", he asks them, dumbfounded.
"Not just any helmet.", Kaze grabs the helmet and turns it around so that the insignia on the side can be seen. "This insignia is the king's. Do you know who is allowed to have this on their helmet?", he asks him.
"I guess the royal guard or something?"
"Wrong. There are only two people allowed to wear it. The king himself, and… the chosen one!", he explains to Marc.
"Wait, what? The chosen one?! Where the hell would you find his helmet?!", he asks completely baffled by what they told him, as he grabs the helmet and examines it closely.
"We found it stuck in a few plants in the village's stream, next to the blacksmith.", she explains. "It was really tough to-"

"DID YOU SAY THE RIVER?!", he screams at her with an intense look on his face.
"N-No, I said stream. But I guess it came from the river then, huh? Anyway, no need for you to scream at me like that, you know?", she protests.
"What has got you so worked up?", Kaze wonders. Marc paces back and forth across the room, looking at the ground and mumbling to himself. "I mean, I was excited, too, because it'll be worth a shit ton on money, but.. why does it matter where we found it?",
He stops and looks at them. "You really need to see what we have upstairs.", he tells them, as he hurries over to the stairs and waves them over. "You see, the reason Lex has to rest right now…", he explains as they follow him up the stairs. He opens the door to the bedroom, which reveals a wounded man lying on the bed, in deep slumber, and Lark sitting next to him, "is him. She saved this guy's life today. Or, at least we hope she did, we'll have to see if he makes it."
"That's… good? But what does this have to do with the helmet. Do you think he was in a fight with the chosen one?", Kaze wonders.
Lark turns around in his chair, dumbfounded. "The chosen one is in the area?! Don't bullshit me, man!", he checks wheter he understood them right.
"Well, the thing is… she saved that guy from the river.", Marc tells them.
"Wait, what?!", "Huh?!", both Elaine and Kaze reply in shock simultaneously. "Do you think this could be… him? There is no way, right? I mean, he wouldn't be injured like that, would he?"
"Maybe sitting around on his ass all day and not training or working has finally caught up with him.", Marc puts forth.
Lark, still confused, starts to slowly make sense of their words. "You guys think this guy right here.. the one we pulled out of the water…. he's the chosen one? Like, the man of legend himself?"
"Maybe. He looks like a goddamn superhuman, so why wouldn't he be?", Marc comments.
"I mean, Lex did say that normal people wouldn't survive this, and especially not heal to like that. But him being the Chosen One, that would be real crazy.", Lark figures. "So, is it really him?".
The four crowd around the bed, and scrutinize him.
"Oh man. I thought maybe all the prayers had been heard and the chosen one was on his way to assist our village when I found the helmet.", Elaine sighs disappointedly.
"I almost had some hope, too.", Kaze agrees.
Marc looks into their faces, then back to the chosen one, and shakes his head. "As if that lazy bastard would come here to help our village. Are you stupid?", he blurts out. "The thought of Lex jumping into that river and risking her fucking life for that no-good son of a bitch makes me curl up on the inside!", his voice grows louder as his face turns blood red. But it's not only him, Lark's and Kaze's expressions are both filled with contempt, too. "I hope that shithead never wakes up", he tells his friends as he leaves the room.
