With how few residents remained, the whole of Megaton gathered outside the shadow of their town’s walls to meet the ruler of the Nexus. This included the followers of the Apostles of the Eternal Light. Despite recent tensions, the alliance between townsfolk and cultists remained strong, and both sides kept politely tolerating each other.

Mother Curie III stood tensely at the head of her equally tense congregation, while Jenny Stahl led the remaining Megaton townsfolk. Moira couldn’t help notice how everyone seemed primed for a fight. Worryingly, she wasn’t sure if the two factions would be fighting together or against each other.

After the crazy (well, crazier)  rad-worshippers, raiders and more, the meeting with the Nexus might be the straw that broke the brahmin’s back for this alliance.

Sev, the benevolent tyrant of the Nexus, walked confidently towards the two groups, bearing a faint smile on his features. His entourage consisted mostly of women, Moira noted - well, more girls than women actually - but all of them carried themselves with the air of veteran fighters.

“So, hello there,” Sev greeted with a cordial wave. Mother Curie managed a tight nod on behalf of the congregation, while Jenny managed a neutral “Hello” of her own. Then the negotiations began, and Moira was glad that the robots behind the Nexus delegation brought along enough chairs for everyone.

If the Apostles didn’t want to use it, power to them. But the slightly less jovial inventor appreciated the thin cushions on the foldable metal seats as she and the rest of the townsfolk listened in on the meeting.

“We cannot, will not accept a…an anathema like you in,” the Apostle’s Mother exclaimed with a fervor that belied her age. “This is Atom’s holy site and you will not desecrate it, murderer of the future!”

A few of the residents were grumbling over the yelling, muttering their resentment over the Apostles’ refusal to leave. Moira sort of agreed with them, Megaton was their home after all, and helpful as they were, perhaps allowing the Apostles to take over the old Church was a bad idea.

“What if we moved the bomb to someplace of your liking?” Sev was clearly trying to take the diplomatic route, considering the Nexus’ reputation for obliterating any in their way. Moira didn’t know why he was being so civil here, but a small part of her hoped that something would cause him to act violently against the Apostles.

At the very least, Sev should beat the ever living shit out of Brother Gerard so that the creep would stop trying to convert her to his cause...and his bed.

Mother Curie III vehemently rejected the notion, and the rad-worshippers behind her joined in with their own protests. “You have no right to tell us where to practice our faith, monster.”

Sev seemed unmoved by the heckling and insults, but the girls beside and behind him were visibly bristling.

“Well, if you’re unwilling to move, you should at least allow us to aid the people of Megaton.”

Jenny nodded in agreement to his plea, giving Mother Curie a look that betrayed the barely civil debates the two had been engaged in over the past few days.

“No. Never. You will not taint our relic with your presence.” The leader of the Apostles waved a dismissive hand at the townsfolk behind her. “They are free to leave, just like the others who used to live here.”

Even as Moira started to fume, Jenny straightened with clear annoyance in her voice. “Megaton is more our home than yours. We bled and died to defend it, while you just swooped in when the time suited you.”

“If not for us, you’d all be extinct by now!” an Apostle yelled.

Tempers were flaring on both sides, and weirdly Sev’s delegation was trying to placate both townsfolk and cultists. It was not going well, not with fresh insults being hurled between the two parties, fuelled by the bursting of buried resentment.

Then someone decided to draw a gun, because Moira heard the gunshot. Screams followed, but chaos was kept at bay as the Nexus finally put their boot down and directly intervened. Moira thought that the frothing, raving Church of Atom followers were scary, but the way the Nexus robots suddenly swooped down to separate the two groups made her go stiff with fear. It had the same effect on most of the Megaton townsfolk as well, and they drew back with immediate, cowed silence.

Not so for the Apostles though, who redirected their anger at the robots. Their zealous anger drowned out Mother Curie III’s desperate yelling to stop. More guns were drawn, and shots spanged ineffectively off the floating, tentacled bots.

Moira tore her gaze away from the scene to glance at Sev, who shared disappointed looks with his followers. Then, over the pleading of Mother Curie, the Megaton inventor heard two words sighed out from him: “Process them.”

The violence that followed was swift and brutal. Metal tentacles once floating lazily snapped forward to yank and twist cultists’ limbs with sickening snaps. Anger turned into terror as every Apostle save for the Mother was lifted by their dislocated arms and legs and carried away.

Moira had to admit, the robots’ display was awe-inspiring as well as utterly terrifying. Then she wondered just what went on under their metal hulls to be able to function as they did, and Moira had to admit just a bit of…joy…as the estimated calculations spoke of highly advanced technology and engineering.

Maybe leaving Megaton wasn’t such a bad idea after all, if she could secure a place in one of the Nexus’ labs…

“Find a new place for your bomb and your church,” Sev commanded with finality, “Or I’ll find a place for all of you. Trust me, you won’t like the second option.”

Then he turned to a slack-jawed Jenny Stahl and offered an apologetic smile. “We’ll talk about integrating Megaton into the Nexus once we’re done settling their relocation?”

Nova was one of the many of the not-so-many Megaton residents left who was happy to see the Apostles of the Eternal Light leave. They were bad for business, especially her and Gob’s saloon that relied on traders not getting spooked by religious nutcases.

Just a day after that happy event, the Nexus came in force to repair, renovate and upgrade the crumbling town. The ex-prostitute marveled in uninhibited awe just like everyone else as new buildings were built up from scratch, water and power lines were laid out, and Nexus-fresh supplies were distributed to each household, all by the end of the day. To say nothing of the complete overhaul nearly every home and business got.

Nova was now standing on a new wooden floor, within her refurbished saloon of brick and timber. She had reliable and clean running water, refrigeration, and brand spanking new furnishings. And air conditioning!

A subway and road was on the way, supposedly, which Sev said could bring in potential tourists or migrants. Which, for Nova, meant more business.

And yes, she actually got to speak to the man himself, as he and a few of his people took a break in her saloon. They only sat around and didn’t buy anything, but Sev offered a crate of Nexus-made cider to sell, so Nova had no reason to complain about their loitering.

Not that she actually wanted a reason to complain anyway.

Admittedly, Sev and his folk were good non-paying customers, treating her and Gob with a sincere courtesy that she’d rarely seen from outsiders. Especially towards Gob, but then again the Nexus Severalty was supposed to be the most ghoul-friendly place to be.

Also, Nova had to admit that she found Sev more than a bit charming, the kind she’d happily offer a discount on to hopefully have him return if she was still in her previous job.

She chewed on her lip thoughtfully. Maybe she could take a quick dip back into her old profession. Just to secure some extra perks from the Nexus, of course.

That she’d heard some stories about the ruler of the Nexus had only a little bit to do with that, really.

Nova decided to give it a go, and slinked over towards Sev when things got quieter in the evening with all the suggestiveness she could muster. “Would you care to…try…the daily special?”

Sev gave a raised eyebrow and glanced briefly behind her to where his people were. “What’s the special, if I may ask?”

She put up an alluring and inviting mask and ignored the gazes she felt from his hangers-on, focusing solely on him. Sev didn’t look put off or against the idea, which was a good sign, so Nova leaned down to whisper right beside his ear.

“Me.”

“You don’t have to, you know.”

Nova smiled sweetly at his sentiment. “But I want to. I want my new ruler to look over my…wares, and see if I’m up to Nexus standards.”

Sev allowed himself to be led up to her refurbished bedroom, and Nova easily reverted back to her old whoring ways. Except this time, she was actually eager to have his hands on her, and hopefully his dick in her. When she got on her knees to meet his cock, Nova was pleasantly surprised that the thick shaft was far from gag-inducing when it slipped into her mouth.

Then again, Sev probably had the luxury of bathing and cleaning up that most of her old clientele didn’t have.

Nova expertly plunged down on his member, enjoying for the first time having a cock stuff and stretch her throat. After the first few bobs, the old persona of Nova the whore was gone. In its place was a new Nova, Nova the slut.

The young woman drooled messily as she worked her head up and down at a greedy, hungry pace. The musk of Sev’s arousal and the very act of choking on his cock fuelled her own growing lust. Nova felt surges of pride as she felt his hands stroking her head and running through her hair with approval.

She was enjoying making him feel good, not for the sake of some caps, but because it aroused her in an addicting  way she never felt before. Nova slurped and gagged on the beautiful, blissful member of the Nexus’ ruler - her ruler - for a few minutes, until he decided that she was worth rewarding.

Having her mouth fill with cum had never felt so good before. Nova gulped it all down greedily, feeding off Sev’s gift as she looked pleadingly up at him for more. Thankfully for her, the rumors of his generosity was not unfounded.

Sev was still hard when she finally separated her mouth from his cock, and he tossed her onto her bed. Nova’s legs were wide open to receive him, and she screamed with delight as he wasted no time in mounting and fucking her like the slut she was. Her climax almost knocked her unconscious, and left her quivering throughout the rest of the night as Sev’s dicking sustained the orgasmic peak.

Nova allowed herself to be used in any way her ruler wanted, and savored the moments where he graced her with his warm, thick seed. Sev was relentless, and Nova was glad that she lasted as long as she did to be of use to him.

She awoke alone in her bed, covered and filled with Sev’s cum. Nova rolled off her bed and crawled to her new bathroom on sore limbs. Emptying his gift from her aching cunt left a weird longing in her, so Nova promptly gave her half of the saloon’s ownership to Gob as soon as she was done cleaning herself.

Sev might have already left, but he had some people still around overseeing Megaton’s restoration. Nova found a smartly dressed woman to hastily make her inquiries for working in Boston. Thankfully, the overseer was more than happy to give her the answer she wanted.

“There’s always a place for admin folks,” Kelly said with a cheery smile. “And if you do a good job, Sev would be more than happy to make the…ah, appropriate changes to your pay.”

With Sev being…distracted for the night, Cait teleported back to Caladan with a heavy sigh.

“Told ya,” Piper crowed with a triumphant grin beside the redhead.

Cait sighed again and waved off her friend’s victory. “Yeah, yeah. Fuck… I really thought it’d be the gadget-maker.”

“The bar owner’s been giving him looks since she saw him. And we’ve been staying there for that long…of course she’s going to want to get a dicking from him. Now, remember: You’ll be personally handling the next four towns or vaults. Farms, camps and caravans don’t count. No getting help from Kelly or the other staff.”

“Fuuuck...”
