Sarah found herself stunned every now and then as the day of the Nexus’ most ambitious invasion yet drew closer. Despite the sheer scale of the buildup, the public and even most of the Nexus staff, be they bureaucrat or scientist, were oblivious to the pending attack.
It helped that the Companies too were kept in the dark (except for the 1st of course), being put through their paces with their usual training. Sev’s preference for his military factories to be kept out of sight and mind of the average citizen also ensured that speculation on the topic remained dubious and as publicly credible as Nora’s preference for doggy dick. Not to mention, all of the war factories were fully automated, so nobody but the inner circle truly knew the numbers.
And the numbers were truly staggering. There were more Mad Cats and Hornets each than the total number of people serving in the Companies (because Sev somehow had it in his head that there might be losses in the coming battle). Eyebots now roamed the skies across the entire continent in packs of four. The pile of fusion cores accumulated could easily obliterate its market value in any market beyond the Nexus if even a quarter of it was exported.
Curie remarked that there were enough Sentinels to outnumber the last headcount on Caesar’s Legion by three-to-one. And that estimate included slaves and civilians.
Really, all that was left was the finishing touches. Something about presentation to the NCR, nearby Enclave holdouts, the remnants of the Brotherhood of Steel, and the countless settlements scattered around the region.
In the meantime, agreements with the NCR were being refined and debated before being sent for their review through Kelly. Nora and ghouls that were lawyers in their past lives were called in as consultants to ensure that the legalese was as watertight as possible. Sev wanted as little loopholes as possible to ensure that the Nexus maintained an advantage against any potential stupidity caused by their corruption. With their old world experience, the NCR legal team didn’t stand a chance.
An example was that Nexus goods would only be carried and sold by Nexus traders, who would effectively operate above the established merchant dynasties within the NCR. They would trade wherever they wanted, though the prices would be agreed upon between the Nexus’ and NCR’s trade representatives beforehand. Any local or bureaucratic obstruction to would be immediately investigated by the Nexus Severalty.
Sarah didn’t see any problem with that, and neither did Nora in the end, though she did huff and complain about it initially. Not after all the corroborated tales of sketchy enforcement, cronyism and corruption within that state. There were one too many tales of wastelanders being forced out of their lands, or caravans slaughtered by their competition.
So as the NCR senate deliberated over the many treaties offered, Sarah reviewed the overall strategies with Sev and his inner circle. Estimates for a quick conquest and rehabilitation were constantly adjusted as new reports flowed in. Attack routes were shifted according to the latest updates on Legion positions. Resources were stockpiled, new holding cells were built, and oblivious traders and Minutemen were prepared for the westward expansion. An eye was even kept on the right television and radio timeslot, to allow for the breaking news to be broadcast.
For the sake of the thousands of slaves collared up, for the thousands more oppressed wastelanders living under the Legion’s boots, Sev was being very, very thorough. Sarah eagerly counted down to the day where the green light was given. The anticipation of the good news suddenly arriving sweetened the nights where she was being worn on Sev’s dick. Maybe he’d get word while he was in the middle of coring her limp body out with his powerful thrusts, and then he’d have to finish quickly and drag her sweaty, cum-stained form with him to the command center…
Sarah could only hope.
Of course, her wishes didn’t come true. When Kelly sent the message back that the NCR had agreed to the main points, and that they were officially requesting the aid of the Nexus Severalty to defeat Caesar’s Legion, Sev was busy turning Gwen into a drooling fuck-drunk mess in his office. If Kelly had waited just a few minutes more, Sarah would’ve been up next.
Truly, she had the worst luck sometimes.
“Alright, boys and girls,” Sev said as he pulled out of Gwen and fired a healing gun at her quivering form. “Time for the fun to begin. Eva, Cabal, Death Hand launch initiated. Send out the call to arms.”

Decanus Felix was busy enforcing punishment on an unruly family who had dared to hide away vital resources to Caesar’s great army. It did not matter that their harvest was poor, it did not matter that these defiant subjects barely had enough to feed themselves. They had kept their tribute from Caesar, and so they would be punished.
The father who had lied was crippled and forced to watch as the legionaries took turns in drilling their spear stances on his two, by now dead, sons. Those that were not training were tasked with raping the man’s wife. The decanus had kept the daughter for himself, making sure she screamed loud enough for her helpless father to hear, even if it meant having to shave off a nipple.
It was a waste of such a pretty little thing, but such was the fate of those who defied Caesar.
Felix grunted as he thrusted into the ripe child while he held a blade to her unmarred breast. He kept his eyes fixed on the father, savoring the despair and anguish almost as much as he enjoyed the girl’s tightness. Slave whores and breeders could not match such an exquisite sensation, maybe he should consider-
The decanus and his men slowed to a stop when a great shadow fell upon the lands all around them. Glancing up, he found the noon sky was darkened by a vast, all-encompassing…cloud?
Felix pushed the girl off him and stood up to squint upwards, tryng to comprehend what was happening. It took a few seconds to realize that the great veil in the heavens was descending, and rather quickly at that. It took seconds more before he noticed it was made up of countless individual things that gave off metallic shimmers on them, and they were tinted with a red ominous glow.
With his instincts shrieking of danger, Felix hurriedly screamed to his men and pulled up his shorts. “Form up! Form up, damn it!”
There was a growing buzz in the air, like a million cazadors beating their wings. Above, the descending swarm were close enough that the decanus could tell apart the pinpricks of baleful red light.
Despite his fear, his combat-honed will held out. “Spears ready! For Caesar!”
Decanus Felix barely had time to commit the details of the metal monsters to memory. In the moment it took him to let out a defiant battlecry, Felix was lost in a tangle of metal and immense pain. He found himself in the air, wrapped in the tentacles of a monster. One look at his body told him why he couldn’t feel his limbs - they were missing. A glance to his sides showed that he was not alone; the rest of his squad and other legionaries were similarly carried by other monsters. As the terror of his predicament finally hit him, Felix could only sob and whimper incoherently.
All across Caesar’s empire, the swarm of metal monsters fell upon the land in a deluge of tentacles and claws. Bunkers, fortifications and towns were similarly set upon and processed.
Those in the uniform of Caesar’s Legion shared the decanus’ fate.
Those in collars and cages found themselves freed and healed.
Those that were neither were herded into groups for later assessment.
Fifteen minutes after the Sentinels descended across the lands once firmly held by Caesar’s Legion, the Quetzals landed near settlements and camps. Sev confidently stepped into the breached tent of Caesar, smirking at the older, de-limbed man held up by the tentacles of a Sentinel.
“Ave Caesar, interfector tuus te salutant.”
