Chapter 10: Chapter 9

Both Romeo and Halo looked over frightened and couldn’t believe that they were caught.

Romeo quickly pulled up his pants and hide Halo behind him to pull his clothes on and asked Niam, “How the hell did you get in here?”

Niam dangled the keys in front of him and said, “My best friend and I have keys to each other’s homes so that we can check in on each other when we need to and when we have homework to hand over and I see my best friend is keeping a secret from me that he should have warned me about.”

Halo came from behind Romeo and tiptoed over to Niam holding his arms out, “Hey best friend.”

“Bitch!” Niam scoffed and hugged him. He looked over Halo’s shoulder at Romeo and watched as he cautiously stared back at him while he sat down. 

Niam ended the hug and asked, “So explain this.”

Halo turned to Romeo then looked at Niam. He bit the inside of his cheek and started mumbling, “There’s nothing to explain really, we just decided to get together.”

“Oh really?” Niam asked sceptically and looked at the handsome man in front of them and said to him, “Boy, what are you after, you ain’t gay.”

Halo elbowed Niam and said, “Don’t be mean.”

Niam seemed unamused and rolled his eyes saying, “Well, when you have time for me let me know, I just came to drop off the work you missed and let you know that bitch is pissed that she has to deal with things while you are away.”

He handed Halo the file which he accepted then walked Niam to the door where Romeo couldn’t see them. Niam bared his teeth at Halo and they both started jumping up and down in excitement. 

“When did this happen?” Niam whispered while they held hands.

“Two days ago and he asked me to be his valentine yesterday then an hour ago he asked me to be his boyfriend,” Halo whispered back to him.

Niam jumped for joy but quickly hid his laugh and looked around to see if they were heard then he said, “And his dick? You held it in your hand and even ate his semen, child, if he is a Halosexual, you better keep him but you know he is the schools plug right?”

Halo looked at Niam confused asking, “What do you mean?”

Niam raised a brow then said, “Romeo doesn’t do it but he supplies everyone with drugs, even the weed we smoked last week, I bought it from Justin.”

Halo stepped back surprised and looked confused. This… Romeo is a drug dealer? Why didn’t he know this?

“That has to be a lie,” Halo said.

Niam shook his head, “I never lie to you and you know that. Romeo is in deep in something and you just need to be careful around him.”

Niam hugged him and kissed Halo’s cheek, “Nicola’s also a crazy bitch, she’ll do anything to get back with her drug-dealing ex-boyfriend who has money. Just be careful okay love.”

Halo nodded his head and hugged him again. Closing the door after Niam left, he picked up the file from the floor and walked into the dining room and glared at Romeo who was already dishing up the quiche. He walked over to Romeo after leaving his file on the table asking, “What are you doing?”

Romeo looked at Halo and said, “Your friend is right. He did buy the weed from Justin and I am not happy about the idea of you smoking weed.”

Halo stared at him cautiously as he asked, “Why did you eavesdrop?”

Shrugging he answered, “I just wanted to see what makes Justin want to fuck your friend.”

Halo’s brows shot up intrigued but he had something else on his mind, “So is it true? Do you sell drugs?”

Romeo licked his lips and handed Halo a plate with a slice of quiche on it saying, “I will only explain this once, I have to sell drugs or I die. I kill people or I am the one that has to die and in order for me to live, I need to do what I need to do in order to survive and this is not a conversation you and I need to have when we do not know each other well. The more you know the dangerous things will get for you and for me.”

“Okay, so you know I am a drug dealer but I don’t deal with them, I have people working for me and the person I work for is someone that can’t be touched. I am the kingpin of this town and all I want to do is get to know you, now, let us eat boyfriend,” Romeo said and walked over to the table pulling Halo with him who was stunned.

They sat down and Halo couldn’t believe all of this and asked after a moment, “Do your friends know about this?”

Romeo nodded his head, “Yes and no. They mostly know that I will kill them and still get paid at the end of the day. The fucking principal knows that too.”

Halo raised his hands in defeat, he wanted nothing to do with whatever was going on with Romeo and said, “I guess I won’t be surprised when it is brought up again.”

“I have a drug test on Monday, shit happened at school…”

“Yeah I know,” Halo interrupted him.

“Well shit baby boy, I guess transparency won’t be a problem,” Romeo smirked and continued eating.

“So Justin has a party coming up and we can’t find anyone who makes good mac and cheese, how does yours taste?” Romeo asked.

“I put a whole ton of shit in mine, minced meat, bacon, green peppers, mushrooms, onions and more, want me to make it so ya’ll can taste?” Halo asked.

Romeo nodded his head, “Do we need to go shopping?”

He nodded his head, “But later, I want to get started on this shit because I don’t like waiting to do my projects last minute.”

“So we have another thing in common,” Romeo mumbled as he got up to fetch the whole pie dish.

Halo looked at him as he sat back down and started eating from it and asked, “What are the other things that we have in common?”

“We find each other attractive? By the way, are you eighteen yet?” He asked.

Halo nodded his head, “Yes, my birthday was on the twenty-ninth of January. Why?”

Romeo’s brows lifted in complete shock, “Are you fucking kidding me?”

Halo shook his head confused, “No, I’ll show you my ID later.”

Romeo stared at him for a while and Halo found it uncomfortable, “Why are you looking at me like that?” He asked.

Romeo opened his bag and took out his wallet. Halo saw the money that was squashed into it and was surprised but he refused to comment. Romeo pulled out his ID and it over to him.

Taking it in his hand, he looked at it and after admiring Romeo’s mugshot, he saw the date of birth and squealed, “There is no way we were born on the same day.”

Romeo took in a deep breath, rubbing his beard he said, “It’s hard for me to believe too.”

“We could be like soulmates!” Halo screeched happily and jumped out of his seat, he walked over to Romeo who accepted his straddle. Halo looked down at him and asked, “So what else do you think we have in common?”

Romeo smirked as a put his hand on Halo’s left cheek and squeezed it, “I like that you don’t have an ass, but if I fatten you up and fuck you good, I’ll have something to hold on in no time.”

Halo blushed and tried to get off of him but Romeo held him down, “What are you doing?”

Romeo shrugged then said, “Nothing, I just like it when you are on top of me.”

“Oh don’t tell me that you are the little spoon,” Halo groaned forgetting Romeo’s inappropriate words.

“What’s that?” Romeo asked. Halo rolled his eyes and said, “Little spoon is the one who likes to get cuddled, the big spoon does the cuddling and I am a little spoon, we both can’t be the same spoon.”

Romeo nodded his head slowly and said, “I’m the big spoon and I don’t know about cuddling, I haven’t done it enough to know if I like it.”

Halo looked at him as though he was an idiot and asked, “But you’ve been holding me as much as you can, that is cuddling.”

“Yes, I like cuddling,” he answered.

“No homeboy, you are definitely a Halosexual,” Halo said and burst out laughing. Climbing off of him, he made his way back to his seat and continued eating. 

Romeo took his ID back and looked at it. He wanted to take a look at Halo’s ID but asked irrelevantly, “Do you know how to drive? Why do you walk to school?”

Halo shook his head, “I’ll never fucking do that shit, it was complete bullshit.”

Romeo burst out laughing and suddenly stopped. He said very seriously to him, “Well change of plans, you are going to take the lessons again then when you pass, I’ll get you a car.”

“No way!” Halo slammed his hands down on the table as he stood up. Romeo stared at him with a serious expression and said, “You have no choice. I already told you that I am a drug dealer and that means I have many enemies, I can’t have you walking, what if you get kidnapped or worse all because of me? I am deadass serious and I have made up my mind.”

“You can’t dictate my life!” Halo said pointing his finger at Romeo.

Romeo stood up and walked around the table stopping in front of him. He wrapped his arms around Halo’s waist and said, “Unfortunately you agreed to be mine and because of that, you will do what I say.”

Halo held his hands up between them and tried to push him away saying, “You can’t do this Romeo.”

“It is for your own safety, you will be so happy driving your own car,” Romeo explained to him.

“But you buying me a car? That’s not right, You can’t even expect me to accept something like that,” Helo stated.

Romeo cupped his chin forcing Halo to look at him and said, “You have to listen to daddy baby boy.”

Halo shook his head and ducked down under him. He moved away saying, “No is no besides, I doubt all the drugs that you sell is enough to afford an Audi A5 2018.”

Romeo turned around and asked, “Did you see my car? It’s a fucking Chevrolet Corvette 2019 and my shit’s paid up to date and the insurance too. Credits on one hundred and nothing you need to worry about.”

Halo rolled his eyes asking, “And how exactly do you explain this to the insurance people? There is no way an eighteen-year-old can afford all that.”

Romeo smirked, “Firstly my mother is married to a man that is well off. Both my dads who died left me too much money and I make sure my money is clean besides, I have a job too.”

“And what is it exactly that you do for a living?” Halo asked him. 

“I’m Vanessa Miller’s driver,” he answered.

“The one who drives the twins around?” He asked recalling his boss.

Romeo nodded his head, “Yes and I drive her around when she needs me to.”
