“His black ass needs to leave,” Candice said.

Halo chuckled as he was eating Romeo’s left over food and said, “He said the same about your black ass.”

Candice huffed, she just got home and the room still looked like what it did when she left and that was five hours ago! 

Sitting down on the couch, she looked at the gifts and asked, “Why didn’t you open them?”

“I just woke up,” Halo answered as he dug for something else to eat. She turned to him remembering something and asked, “Do you know that he piled everyone up outside the door?”

Halo burst out laughing, “That sounds about right.”

“Why would he?” She asked.

He walked over with leftover pizza and said, “That’s just Romeo for you. But don’t call him Romeo, he prefers Rome.”

Candice stared at him for a moment and said, “He isn’t the friendly type.”

Halo gazed at her and nodded his head, “It’s best if you don’t get on his bad side too.”

She nodded her head and took a slice of pizza. Biting it, she frowned, “Why didn’t you warm it?”

“I’m lazy, I can barely stand on my legs,” he answered.

She took the plate from him and went to the microwave saying, “Well damn, the dick must be good. Speaking of which, I didn’t know that you are a bottom.”

“Only with him,” he sighed.

She looked at him and picked up on the sigh. “Why didn’t you tell us about him?” She asked.

He looked over at her saying, “What is there to say? We’re not together anymore or at least that is what I thought.”

Going back with the warm pizza, she sat down in front of him as he had his feet up on the couch and lifted her own. Looking at him she asked, “Why does it sound complicated?”

“It is,” he said, sighing again.

Candice gave him a look that told him to continue but Halo didn’t want to. He looked at her, forcing a smile and said, “Let’s just say that he is the bad boy type and as much as I thought I could change him, it was nothing but a mistake.”

Candice looked towards Halo’s room and thought back to Romeo while they were alone. She even thought of swiping him away from Halo but now she wasn’t so sure.

Halo looked at her and said, “He’s handsome isn’t he.”

She looked at him surprised that he seemed to know what she was thinking. Nodding her head she said, “He is.”

Halo nodded his head and looked at the coffee table. Candice looked at it too and said, “He must want you back seeing that he bought you so much stuff.”

Shaking his head he said, “Na, this is normal. He bought my car after forcing me to learn how to drive.”

She turned to him surprised, “Well damn, you’ve struck it rich. Its rare to find a black man with money unless they are doing drugs or worse.”

“Worse?” Halo asked curiously.

Candice looked at him and said, “Some illegal shit like killing people for money.”

Halo chuckled with a shake of his head. Taking a sip from the beer bottle he complained, “All he did was ruin my birthday for me.”

Speaking of birthdays, he didn’t get anything for Romeo’s birthday. Sighing he rubbed his forehead and said, “So how did the party end.”

“I don’t know, I was getting fucked but the asshole ran off once your man opened the door,” she said.

Halo sat up and patted her shoulder, “You’ll find someone one day, don’t rush it and stop whoring yourself around.”

Romeo walked over to the couch and hugged Halo who was looking through the gifts and eating the cupcakes that he also brought.

Halo groaned, “Its almost night time.”

“You wore me out,” Romeo smirked.

Halo mirrored his smirk asking, “Wanna go another round?”

Romeo sat up and kissed his cheek, “Where did you learn that? Fuck you were so sexy earlier on.”

Halo turned to him, “Candice taught me.”

“How?” He asked curiously.

“You don’t need to know that. Why did you buy me so many things? I didn’t even get you anything,” he said.

Romeo leaned back against the couch and sighed, “You know I don’t need anything unless it’s you.”

Looking at him Halo asked, “I went to your car to get your things. Why don’t you go wash up?”

“I already did when you slept the first time,” he answered.

Halo nodded his head and leaned against him. He let Romeo take a bite of the strawberry cupcake and said, “I can’t say that I’m not happy to have you back in my life.”

Pinching Halo’s side heh said, “We need to talk, Halo.”

“About what?” He asked.

“Niam’s fucking Detective Rowan,” he said.

Halo sat up quickly and looked at him. Romeo turned to him slowly and nodded his head, “Mn, I recently found out.”

“So what’s going to happen? He just told me that the sex between them is good and its all just for fun. I know Niam and he should be in love with him. I also suspect that he is pregnant again,” he said.

Romeo nodded his head, “Yeah, Niam’s been in and out of the hospital over the past week.”

Halo grew worried, “You’re not going to kill Niam right? Nylah won’t have…”

“Why would I kill Niam unless he rats me out?” Romeo interrupted him.

Looking at him Halo asked, “What about Detective Rowan? You can’t kill him if Niam is carrying his child.”

Staring at him Romeo knew that that wasn’t Halo’s worry. What he was worried about was their friendship. Sighing he shook his head, “He’s off the team investigating the mafia.”

Halo sighed relieved. He leaned against Romeo and said, “I’ll see if I can meet up with him and have a chat about this.”

“No, rather keep quiet. I don’t want him being suspicious of you,” he said.

Halo nodded his head, “Is that all?”

Romeo shook his head, “I’m thinking of leaving the fire academy, I don’t have time for the business anymore and Vanessa is pissed off about that. With Misty’s new strain, sales have picked up yet again.”

Halo shook his head recalling his meeting with Misty. He mistook her for some girl who was trying to get with his man and felt so embarrassed afterwards. He kissed Romeo and pouted, “You really not up for another round?”

Romeo snickered, “So why did you leave me again? If you stayed you wouldn’t have missed my dick so much.”

Halo rolled his eyes and hit his chest, “I’m asking you to fuck me not throw words in my face.”

Wrapping his arm around Halo, he flicked him on the head then kissed the red mark and said, “Not now, my dick hurts.”
