Chapter 6: Chapter 6: The Rogues

The Next day, Montana recalls the moment The Second forcefully kicks her out of the Vision Realm. She wakes up shortly after her body hits the ground and the sound of the door mimicking her fall. When she came back to her senses, she realizes that her personal maid came to wake her up, the maid told the princess that the group was ready to infiltrate the Thieves, and that Leo asked for the Princess to come. Hearing what her maid said, she hurriedly fixed herself and came outside. While she was running around the Palace in hopes of searching, she sees Leo heading out of the Palace Gates, so she started running that way to catch up with the group. Just before Leo was about to enter his Carriage, he hears Montana faintly shouting in a distance.

Montana: W-wait! Wait! LEOO! IM COMINGG

Hearing that made Leo feel relieved, so he ordered his Driver to wait for the young princess and when she got there, they continue what they had planned. While they were in their way, Leo decides to update Montana on what they had planned. So he took out the scroll which contained their strategy and began to explain as Montana carefully listened.

Leo: So, the plan was for us to meet in a certain Safe House near the targeted house, but not close enough for them to notice... We would have Lady Sophie activate her Eye in order for us to see what the targets are doing in a specific period of time, what Her Lady sees would then be our guide in infiltrating their base.

Montana: So... What you're saying is that, Sophie’s Visions will be our guide? Then where is she right now?

Leo: Lady Sophie and the Twins are already at the Safe House with her men ready on standby

Montana: Ahh I see

Not long after, they safely reach the said house, where they planned to meet. The two got out of their Carriages and proceeded to enter the house where the Twins greeted them as they guided them to the Meeting Room. The Four Rulers, Leo, and two other Generals were present in the Meeting Room who were commanding the Infiltration.

Sophie: My Vision is done... It is true that my vision has the ability to see the future. But unlike the Supreme Being, there are some point in time where I can’t see them.

General 1: It is alright, My Lady... We will proceed with caution to avoid any issues.

Kai: Well? What did you see?

Sophie: There are only seven of them, all wearing full sized cloaks. The Girl is in the secret room, it looked like an Office Room

Kaiden: The Seven... Where were they? And weapons?

Sophie: They seemed to work on specific times. Two persons every three hours. But there was one who stayed inside, the one with a white mask. That person was the only one who had their hood on.

Montana: How about their weapons?

Sophie: S-sorry... I didn’t see. I only saw what they were doing before dusk.

Leo: Before dusk?

What Sophie said made Leo confirmed that although the girl could see the future, she couldn't control what she sees at will. While thinking about it, he had realized that Sophie only saw what happened before dusk. He then asks the question that has been running in his mind

Leo: Then... What would they be doing at this moment? Are you sure we got here unnoticed?

General 1: Ohh you don’t have to worry, I have scouts in perimeter, updating us about their movements

Leo: Where are the scouts right now?

General 2: I’ll go and see what they're up to.

While the General was climbing the stairs, the others continued analyzing their plan, trying to cover up every possible weakness they have. But after a while, Leo notices that the General still hasn't returned. He then excused himself to figure out on his own and went upstairs where the General was supposed to be, communicating with the scouts. But when he reaches the top floor he sees that the General seemed to be troubled by something, by following his instinct, he went closer to the General and asked what was happening.

Leo: Excuse me, sir.

General 2: A-Ahh... it’s just you... What can I help you with Sir Leo?

Leo: I was just wondering why you haven’t gotten downstairs... Is something wrong?

General 2: Ahh it’s nothing... I’m sure it’s just a communication problem.

Leo: whats wrong?

General 2: All our scouts are still in play, but I’m having trouble with two of them

Leo: I see... Is this really under your control?

General 2: Yes, yes of course. Our scouts have gone through tough training to pass their test. They’ll be fine

Leo: Where did you put those two lots scouts?

The General then proceeds to check where they had assigned the scouts and searched for the two scouts who had been missing. When he finally finds where, he took the map and told Leo where they were. Leo then went downstairs and asked Montana if he could leave. Even though the young princess was worried of what he had in mind, she allowed him to go. Leo then took his men and proceeded to go to the place where the two lost scouts were assigned. When they reach the building, Leo notices that the roof seemed to be empty, knowing that scouts are supposed to keep an eye on the enemy, he'd thought that one of them would be at the roof. He then asked his men to be ready as they entered the building. When they finished searching inside the building, they figured out that the Scouts house was empty. This thought only concerned Leo even more, so he went back outside and saw black smoke located to where they came from.

Earlier on the other side, Montana and the others were getting ready for the infiltration, the guards were arming themselves the same way Montana and the Twins have. A couple of seconds later, a loud explosion was heard above the floor where the Four Rulers were. When they came up, they saw a couple of their guards injured by the explosion screaming in pain as the Twins hurriedly attempts to heal them. Montana then notices small figure at the roof of the house beside them. One of the Seven were there. Just before the person throws another explosion, Montana shouts hoping the others would hear her.

Montana: They're here! Duck!

Hearing what the Princess said, all of them ducks as the woman cloaked in black continued to throw bombs at them. A couple of minutes later, the explosions stopped. Kai then looked up to see if they had stopped but when his head was out in the open he saw a Sniper aimed directly at him, just before the bullet hits him, a golden field was casted by Kaiden who was beside him blocking the bullet, saving his life. The boy then pulled his brother down and started scolding him

Kaiden: What do you think are you doing?! Just because the explosions stopped doesn’t mean you can carelessly look around dumbass!!

Kai: I thought they were done!

While they were fighting, the Sniper attempts another shot, hitting the table where the twins were.

Kaiden: Now look what you did! You exposed us!

Kai: Waa-? What I did! You're the one shouting at me!

Sophie: Shut up! Both of you shut up! We're already getting shot at and all you two think of is fighting each other! Can’t you see we're getting ambushed?!

Kaiden: Fine! I’ll do it myself! Don’t slow me down

Kai: Like hell I would!

The Twins then casted an armor made out of Mana for themselves as Kai fires lightning spell at the woman throwing explosions. While Kai was fighting against the woman, the Sniper changed his position, which made Kaiden harder to find him. The Woman then throws a bomb at Kai which exploded on impact, destroying a part of his armor, when Kaiden notices this he looked in the direction where the Sniper could hit his brother and to his expectations he found him in the window aiming for his brother. He then helped fasten Kais shield which blocked the Snipers shot. Kaiden then jumped out the wall the explosions have destroyed and casted spell which gave him the ability to fly. He headed to the building where he had seen the sniper but when he reaches it, saw nothing. He flies back to the safe house where things seemed to have calmed down since Kai’s success in capturing the Woman who was responsible for the explosions. When they finally got back to their senses they discussed of what they had just experienced.

Kai: You good?

Kaiden: Yeahh

Montana: What happened? It was so sudden I couldn't think

Kaiden: I don’t blame you, with the Sniper covering the Bombers blind spots it would be risky for you to go out.

Sophie: It’s my fault, I should've also seen this. If only I could control my visions the way I want to

Kai: Heyy it’s not your fault, they ambushed us, nobody would've known

Kaiden: Nobody… Im not so sure about that, didn’t it feel too safe getting here? This close should be enough to be in their radar, knowing they’ve succeeded in sabotaging the convoy

Knowing that what Kaiden said, Kai couldn't ignore the fact. A moment of silence was then broken when Leo and his men came back. Leo seemed to run back as fast as he could when he noticed that the lost Scouts were assigned to keep their backline safe, and the black smoke which was proof of his conclusion. When he reaches the Safe house, he climbed the wall that was broken since the stairs leading to the second floor was covered in debris.

Leo: Princess? Where are you?!

Montana: I’m safe Leo! I’m with Kai and Kaiden

Leo: Damn those bastards, they killed the scouts in our backline and ambushed us

General 1: Impossible! We had proper communications with the scouts

Leo: Well then explain this!

Shouted Leo as he points toward the huge hole of their base, which was caused by the explosions

Leo: Where’s the second General?

General 1: W-we can’t seem to find his body, he might've been covered under the explosions

Leo: How many casualties?

General 1: Well uhh we don’t have a specific number but about 1/3 of our group are dead

Leo: Damn it! Who could’ve known… Princess come back to the Palace with me, I don’t trust these people

Montana: Calm down, everybody... We can get up from this. Let’s have Sophie activate her Vision to see where the enemies are while they are heading back to their base, we’re quite far from their base so theres still a chance

Sophie: Okayy I’ll get right into it

Montana: Then General, call all your men to retreat and your scouts to search for the Sniper... He has to be out there... Kai and Kaiden you focus on the injured.

With Montana in command, the operation went smoothly, Dusk falls with the Twins successfully tending the injured, and Sophie coming back to discuss her vision.

Sophie: I saw them, most of them are still in their base. But one of them is still located in a house northeast of the enemy's base, if we can get there before the Sniper gets back. We'll have the element of surprise, knowing that the Sniper can’t report back to their leader

Leo: I see. I’ll get my men ready and head there. We'll capture the Sniper and head back by tomorrow

Montana: As expected, your gift really is helpful, Sophia... Are you sure you can do this alone Leo?

Leo: With your order, I will proceed without fail

Montana: Okay, I trust you... You have my approval, get ready and get that damn Sniper

Leo then heads back down and prepared his men for the Snipers capture. On the other hand Montana and the others continued regain control, they decided to switch their base of operations knowing that the enemy might strike again. This time, Montana takes control while Leo attempts to capture the Sniper.

Montana: Kai h-how are the injured?

Kai: We couldn’t save most of them… Sorry Mon if only-

Kaiden: What'll happen now?

Montana: We'll wait, unfortunately the Infiltration will have to wait. We mustn't act hastily. Whether or not we can continue our Infiltration... Is all in the hands of Leo and that Sniper.

Kaiden: Should we act as scouts?

Montana: No, doing so would put you out in the open. Call Dain, tell him to get his inventions ready. We're gonna need it, and send a bird to Scarlet. We clearly underestimated these people

Kai: I thought you'd say that, you saw through their movements huh?

Sophie: to think that  they did that much damage with only two of their people. Although the Bombers capture surely wasn’t a part of their plan

Montana: We'll wait for Leo and Sophie's Vision to cover our weaknesses. This time we won’t have you look too far in the future, we'll do this one at a time

General 1: Okayy, I sent one of my men to call for Sir Dain. The Bird will come soon enough

Kaiden: We should stop underestimating them, I will go meditate to prepare for the worse, which hopefully won’t happen.

Kai: I’ll go with Kaiden, we'll be ready to go in the morning

Montana: Okayy... I’m counting on you

On the other side, Leo and his men start getting closer to the Sniper with Sophie acting as Communication. Dain started preparing after getting the update to give his Sister his aid. And the day ends with the Twins in deep meditation and Montana calculating their next move.
