A dark-skin youth sat on a seat in a classroom. His seat was the window seat at the left back just like the protagonists in the anime he watched when he was at home.
It was presently just before the first bell so he was reading some hardcover books on his phone relaxedly while paying no heed to the classmates who were gossiping like old women around him who were also paying him no mind. It was the usual tranquil just before school started. The air was fresh too.
The youth could be seen knitting his brows from time to time as the volume of their chattering increased.
When a girl started exaggeratedly screaming like a banshee his hands holding both sides of the book seemed to clench subtly, as if he was picturing grabbing something and squeezing it to death!
When a boy with a deep voice began hollering something to his bros, sounding like a gorilla that was being anally abused, Eze was on the edge of his seat with rage!
He was literally on the edge of the seat, hands gripping the hardcover book like a baseball bat! Motives: unknown.
And then the boy next to him, Deji who was known for bad breath decided to bypass Eze to join the conversation.
"And did you know, did you kn(hooo)"
Eze decided it was the last straw!
In a split second, the target had changed from 'Gorilla voice' to 'Soon to be deceased Deji'
Expertly shifting his center of gravity from his sitting position, he swung the book like an axeman, going for the source of his anger's head.
TWACK
Instantly a dull, unsatisfying feeling was transmitted from the hardcover book in his hands to his skull.
"AHH"
"How pathetic." seeing as the boy was now on the floor with tears in hs eyes while grabbing his head in pain, Eze wasn't satisfied. Instead he felt the need to throw verbal abuse into the mix.
His classmates that were crowded around them had already stopped their noisy discussion by now, watching with widened eyes of shock and fear.
In that moment of shock, Eze who felt the urge to vent ALL his accumulated frustration dropped the unwieldy book seized the opportunity to immediately kneel on his upper body in a classic MMA smackdown position.
And without waiting for anyone to react he began raining a flurry of fists on his head!
He dropped his fist on Deji's head, allowing gravity to grace his fists with their blessings as he felt the impacts between bone and bone.
"AH, YEH! YEH!" Deji screamed in pain, struggling to release his hands to shield himself but to no avail, Eze had him pinned completely.
"THIS is for lacking basic hygiene! And THIS is for deciding to sit next to me for THREE YEARS!" As his fists rained down, Eze felt the anger he had bottled down begin to rise to the surface.
When he was born, his parents who were still young at the time pulled a classic but rarely seen move: Handing the baby off to the man's older brother and fleeing into the sunset to create more memories together~
Apparently both brothers were disconnected from family or something because the older brother, Constance King, never seemed to talk about them at all. Throughout Eze's sixteen years of their awkward 'father'-
He only gave Eze a watch with a strange green pendant embedded in the middle saying his dad left it as a keepsake.
Eze was never one to look a gift horse in the mouth, as soon as his wrists were developed enough to contain the smallest wrist-size of the horse– no, the watch, which was three years ago he'd been wearing it at home only. As for why he only wore a watch indoors, he decided he wanted to be 'lowkey'.
With a watch that looked like it was made by a master, wouldn't his status shoot through the roof? He decided to be the simple bumpkin they thought him to be, afterall, everybody gained something from the arrangement.
Their jokes had a free butt to use, he was left out of their meaningless social interactions and could read in peace.
But guess what?
These fools enjoyed talking around the window seat!
HIS, protagonist window seat! Their chattering voices started to grate on him, daily, causing him to be infected by stress and anxiety!
And that, is why he would…KILL EVERYONE!!
Because he was… EREEEN YEAGEERRRRRRRRRR!!!!
"Why is 'this one' smiling" someone spoke, waking him up from his fictious stupor.
"Who knows, maybe he read something interesting?" another person added.
"HuH?" Focusing ahead, he still heard the chattering voices, and the occasional laughs. Everything was still the same, he didn't take his anger out on anybody, nor did he summon a chainsaw dog to fuse with him and chop everyone to pieces. He was an introvert after all.
Apparently he was just daydreaming while his eyes were out of focus.
RING A bell rang
"School's starting" they finally went back to their original seats as a teacher walked in for early morning lessons
RING Another bell rang
"Assembly time. Lesson's over" the teacher spoke and left
They then left for assembly, where some- RING
First class
RING
RING-RING
RING-RING-RING
School end.
When Eze finally focused it was already 3:00. The students who lived far away were already out the door, heading off to catch buses and beat traffic.
"So, school was short today" 'Okay, school was monotonous, but never usually like this'
He was mildly confused; 'Just what was going on,' he instinctively looked at his watch and saw the emerald glowing a soft green.
'It never did THAT before'
He already started coming up with some theories for what the watch actually was, and how he was special, being granted a power to control time, and what he was going to do when he mastered the power.

But before he could think any further he was now at home
He was sitting in front of a computer looking at an email he received from his boss.
It was a list of people to 'hit' today.
Simply put he was going over to their pages to leave scathing reviews, bad comments and also brutally shame them. All to put food on the table; books cost money!
But he wasn't in the mood to call someone an 'idiot sandwich', or the child of one today. He was only noticing it just now, but earlier in the classroom, colors had been fading at a slow pace, and now at home everything appeared to be in grayscale.
Next, before his eyes, he landed in his bed doing homework. His life seemed to be intermittent, like a movie with too many cuts in-between.
'Memories?' as soon as Eze came to that conclusion he realized that he had no way to confirm if it was today, or if he was dreaming about the past, or something else.
His everyday life was so monotonous; he needed a calendar to know what time of the year it was!
'Well, I guess all chronic loners suffer from the same diseases' he inwardly. Afterall, he'd seen memes with hundreds of thousands of likes making jest of the same things he felt, there was no way he was alone, in being alone.
Anyways, the dream continued on. And as soon as his mind settled in the fact that it was a dream he felt something stir in the entire fabric of his dreamscape. His glowing green watch flashed briefly before he was extricated!
Eze was now watching himself perform his old actions in super-fast playback speed. Basically, he was now viewing in third person instead of first person.
All this finally convinced him of something. This wasn't life through his eyes that he was seeing, there was no way for the human brain to be able to form a 3D 360-view map .
While he had this thought something strange happened.
His bedroom door actually opened… from the outside…
The visitor was an adult male with regular features and lighter skin than most Africans. He was a lightskin African.
At this point, the man walked in followed by some pleasantries, except, they seemed to acting out a mime scene from his point of view.
It took him a moment to realize that this might be important. For two reasons actually;
One, his Uncle never visited his room for any reason, always calling from outside the door, the passage, the living room or even from the gate outside. The fact that he entered his room today was actually worthy of sacrifice to the gods!
And two, when he saw the man who had taken care of him for 16 years, well for whatever reason he started feeling some uneasiness. Like, he didn't want to be near him at all. So he tried to observe what was going on first.
"Playback: 30seconds"
The scene shifted to the door opening scene.
"Still can't get used to this" he sighed while rubbing between his brows.
The scene played out, and the guardian who took care of him walked in. he looked the same according to his memories of him. Always wearing a jalamia(long flowing robe) of silver color despite not being from the Middle East or practicing Islam
He came in without knocking, causing the Eze in the scene to jump slightly in shock.
"Haha" Eze laughed, and the video paused, before continuing.
"Uncle, what are you doing here" while saying something that displayed his lack of social sense, he didn't forget to prostrate the traditional bowing greeting.
His uncle quickly patted his back permitting him to raise his back.
He quickly got right into the heart of the matter.
"Today, I suddenly remembered something about your parents and decided to immediately come and share it with you"
"…" Eze, who was watching from behind his dream uncle, felt like he should be an actor. It was simply too wasteful for his uncle to only be a shareholder in a cooking appliance firm
The Eze of the past was confused for a moment before ultimately understanding it was some welcome information, even if he didn't care much.
"Okay"
And then his uncle started "Well I'm not too sure but I think… your father was a king of somewhere and you're next in line in the inheritance"
This time the former his facial expression fluctuated wildly, as if he was shocked, anxious, confused and pleasantly surprised all at the same time. It was clear that he was experiencing a variety of emotions, but Eze felt that something was weird about it, almost unnatural.
"O… kay" this time he replied with some difficulty, as if he was a mechanical doll experiencing a malfunction.
The man didn't seem to be surprised by this reaction, instead he shook his head slightly "As expected Victor is still best at this…" he said
Finally alarm bells started ringing in Eze's head. He moved closer to observe better and was stunned to see his uncle's eyes were now green!
"What da-"
"And finally, as your Uncle it is my duty to help my brother's son inherit his throne and become the next clan head of the Achebe Clan, but only if you co-operate. Tell me now, do you swear to cooperate" he spoke, twisting his head to make sure the eye contact they both had was better.
And dream Eze replied in the same stoic tone, expression glazed over "Okay"
Following that his Uncle laughed grandly "Hahahaha"
And then he waved his hand lightly towards the door.
And next thing, a green outline superimposed itself unto the doorframe while a different image from the door was being presented on the outside.
"Come. Let us begin the preparations" he turned his back to the clueless idiot and began to walk towards the weird portal.
To Eze's horror, the him of his memories didn't seem to show any resistance now that the glowing green eyes were no longer placed at his eyes. He waddled forward like a baby duckling following after it's mother.
Once they reached where the door once was, they both passed through it together and it disappeared.
It was frightening to watch. The Eze who was watching in grayscale HD format found the whole thing surreal! He didn't remember! Although, if he did remember, wouldn't the abilities shown up to this point be child's play?
He stood there in the now empty memory fragment before realizing that it should have collapsed since he wasn't there anymore, or collapsed once he started being hypnotized? This proved his thoughts right. It wasn't HIS memory he was observing.
He looked at the desk in the room, with a now shutoff pc and cluttered with some clothes, books, a shoe, and a well-crafted watch with a dull green gem embedded into it.
"Definitely a cheat!"
