Eros felt blood trickled down from his head when Josh struck him with an empty bottle, as he roared at him angrily.

"WHO TOLD YOU TO BRING HER TO THE HOSPITAL!" He was flipped when he found out that Eros took Emily to the hospital, moreover because he asked their neighbor to help him. "WHO TOLD YOU TO GO TO STRANGER?!"

"If I didn't do it, Emily will die." Eros tried to defense himself, but that was his first mistake, because Josh wouldn't listen to any excuse. If he wanted to punch you or get angry at you, the best chance that you have was to keep your mouth shut and said nothing.

One more punch on his stomach followed by a kick. Eros's small body flew across the room and colided against the cabinet.

"HOW DARE YOU TO SPEAK?!"

Eros watched how Biel stood in her place, watched everything unfolded without doing anything, though she could do something or asking for help, but she didn't. She let Josh vented out his anger at the eight years old boy.

Meanwhile, in the distance, he could hear Emily was crying silently. He could see the little girl was hugging her Mr. Bear, peeking through a slight opened door.

Eros had told her to not come out whatever was happening and thankfully, she listened to him. She wouldn't be able to help even if she came.

"YOU. ARE. A BURDEN!"

Josh kicked Eros with every word he said. He didn't catch up a breath when he did that. Didn't even hold back when the boy had curled into a fetal position, covering his face with both his hands. His body was in pain. He thought, even his healing ability wouldn't make him any better soon.

But then, he felt something else, he felt that burning sensation that made the other pain dull in comparison.

At first, he felt it on the tip of his fingers, but then the feeling spread through his body and settled in his chest. It was almost like he was roasting alive.

Eros didn't even whimper when Josh punched and kicked him, but this burning sensation made him roar in pain.

He thrashed and turned on the floor, caused Josh to stop his abuse and watched him in confusion.

"What the hell happened with this kid?" Josh mumbled to himself, as he stared at him in bewilderment, while Biel still didn't do anything. She watched everything, but did nothing.

Eros closed his eyes, as he felt his beast was being aggravated from something that he didn't know. He couldn't help it. The beast prowled at the edge of his head and forced to resurface.

Yet, he couldn't do that, it was impossible for him to shift in front of them.

They would know that he was a shifter and they would call the authority to catch him. He didn't want to return to that facility.

However, the force was too strong and he couldn't fight it any longer…

====================

There were a lot of things that happened to Nikolai and his sister, Vanesha, in the past eight years and now they lived only with two of them in a small apartment, since their area was being ruined after the fight between The Hounds and the vampires.

Many people died that night, including their father, but Nikolai didn't feel sorry for that. The only thing that he regretted was he couldn't give his sister a better place to stay, as they stuck in the orphan and became, what they called as a puny children.

No one would adopt Nikolai since he was too old for adoption, but when he came to age, he filed the case for his own sister adoption and here they were.

"Let's eat," Nikolai told his sister, who was working on her homework, while carrying two bowl of their dinner, the girl lifted her head and smiled at him.

But when Nikolai was about to walk toward her, his step faltered and he felt something unusual.

"Nikolai! What happened?!" Vanesha looked at her brother with horror in her eyes. She approached Nikolai, who had fallen to the ground, groaning in pain, as his body thrashed and twitched.

Their dinner had scattered on the floor now and its dirtied Nikolai's shirt, hair and body as well, when he rolled on the floor.

Nikolai felt like his whole body was on fire, as if he was being burned alive.

Pain was an understatement, it was agony, it was hell that he was feeling right now. The burning sensation had blinded him and caused him to roar agravatedly, scaring Vanesha.

What happened to him? Why he felt like this?

However, it was not only him, there were around dozens, or hundreds people and non- human being alike felt the same sensations like he did right now.

====================

Zuri was sitting on the same position, witnessed the flames burned down the entire facilities around the lake.

She was stunned, her body had not yet stopped trembling, as fear gripped her heart so tightly.

Right in front of her, Zuri watched Chaos, standing so tall, towering above her. His beautifull blue eyes was now turned black, as black as charcoal, but they were empty. He didn't seem like he saw her.

It was only her voice that made Chaos turned his head toward her and stood there silently for god knows how long.

They stayed at the same position until the flames died down and everything around them had reduced to ashes.

Only then, Chaos bent his knees in front of Zuri, but still, she couldn't see her reflection on him. His eyes were not focus and the only explanation to that strange gaze was…

It was impossible… Zuri didn't want to believe that.

Therefore, she raised her hand in front of his face, as he stared at her, but his focus was so wrong. Her hand was shaking, as tear fell on her cheeks.
