July didn't even let him know that they had a daughter together and instead of looking for him, she looked for protection from the devil.
Knox was in disbelief at this fact as he didn't even dare to picture himself as a father.
But then, his daughter was Chaos's shattered soul. She wouldn't live long enough if he wished to end this whole ordeal soon.
Knox was in a mess, he didn't know what was wrong and what was right anymore. He also didn't know whether it was right to direct his anger toward Zuri or not.
It was as if something was stuffed in his chest, suffocating him and he wanted to take it out.
"WHAT IS YOUR REASON FOR THIS?!" Knox roared. His eyes flickered to red at this point. He couldn't even say that his daughter was Chaos's shattered soul. Why would he do that? Should he even do that?
Among all of Chaos's shattered souls, Knox was the strongest and if he intended to attack Chaos, the fight would blow out the whole building and even more.
It would attract the organization's attention to their hideout and ruin the whole plan, not to mention Norbeat was caught.
"I choose whoever I let live," Chaos replied, but this answer didn't satisfy Knox at all.
"So, if it is related to your girl, is it fine to put aside our plan?!" Knox scoffed. He smashed another display item on the table, which shattered into a hundred pieces on the floor.
On the other hand, Zuri lowered her head, she didn't say anything because she felt guilty. Knox was right to get angry at her because she had lied to him. She didn't want to defend herself.
"I let you and the other three live, even though you are not related to her," Chaos pointed out. He didn't do anything when Knox was trying to destroy everything in this place, the only significant thing that he did was casting a spell of protection on Zuri.
Right at that moment, Gael and Skylar entered the house, they heard a lot of noises in the living room and came to this study right away because of all the commotion.
"What happened here?" Gael looked at Knox, flabbergasted. "Why are you so angry?"
"I don't think this is the right time for us to be here, we need to come back later," Skylar said in a small voice, she was able to sense the mood around her, keener than any other supernatural creature and right now, the aura that emanated from Knox made her shudder.
Unconsciously, Skylar stood behind Gael, as if using that man as a shield, because she didn't want to get close to Knox, though both of them were Chaos's shattered souls.
"Should we come back later?" Gael shifted his attention toward Chaos, as if nothing major had happened here.
But, Knox had disappeared from that room even before Chaos answered Gael's question.
"Tell me, what is it about?" Chaos waved his hand and all the sharp shards on the floor evaporated into thin air.
Books and all the display items in this room and all the broken things moved on their own, as if they had their own will. All of this could only be accomplished by magic and Zuri watched it in awe, since everything was floating and moving in the air.
Less than one minute later, there was no trace of Knox's outburst.
"We have done what you asked for and everything will move accordingly, we just need to get Norbeat out of there." Gael walked toward Chaos and noticed Zuri, who was standing near the bookshelf. She looked so down, almost like a child, who was given a time out. "What are you doing there…?"
"You can leave, I will call you again later," Chaos said to Gael before he could even finish asking Zuri about what happened to her.
"Huh?"
"Leave," Chaos said and a moment later, the two of them had disappeared from this room. Chaos teleported them somewhere, so he would have alone time with Zuri.
Once it was only the two of them, Chaos casted aside the spell and approached her. She still had her head hung low. Even when Chaos was standing in front of her, she didn't dare to raise her head.
"Is there something you want to tell me?" Chaos put his finger under her chin and tilted her head up, so their eyes could meet. "If you don't want to talk about it, It's okay, but don't lie to me."
"Knox has a daughter, July gave birth to their daughter and now she is one of your shattered souls," Zuri said, she felt numb when she said this.
Chaos had warned her that if she insisted on following him further than this, she would get hurt. Maybe not physically, but her heart would be torn apart.
Chaos had noticed this when he took back his soul from a young child, no, it was even before that. The old lady in the Hakan village, who gave her a necklace.
Zuri's heart was not that cruel yet. Chaos realized it, but still let her stay with him because that was what she wanted, without knowing she was only hurting herself.
"And now, July and their daughter are with Aaron, because they sought for a shelter, since they know that you will go for them." Zuri had already started, so she needed to spill the entire story.
That was the reason why Knox lost his mind. Chaos knew the problem with Knox was not only because Zuri had lied to him about Eros or the fact that Chaos spared some of his shattered souls' lives.
"You knew it even before Aaron told him."
Zuri nodded at that question, which sounded like a statement.
Chaos didn't say a word and Zuri thought he was angry with her because she hid this, therefore she didn't expect his next words.
"I told you that you will get hurt," Chaos said in a somber tone.
