After I finish wallowing in my depression, I find that some of the people throwing orange balls at us are… still here. Hello? Are you guys ok in the head? Didn’t you see the massive display of power I just made?
No? Well, all the better for me.
The targets on my chest are glowing blue signifying I passed. When I used the “Storm Field” (internally dies), 6 of the balls that got pushed back hit the targets of a couple of people.
That was intentional, by the way. Seriously.
(A/N: I call bullshit. I bet he just got lucky.)
So I ended up just walking back to the examinee waiting area alone.
Announcer- “Uhhhh, apparently one person passed already. A bit surprising, but thank god, that means we can finish this up faster.”
There was that lazy announcer, wasn’t there? How does he keep his job? Maybe he’s tired because there’s no one else and he ended up dealing with all these affairs alone… surprisingly it makes sense.
I message everyone in class 1A through the neuro linker, telling them that they can just do what they want, but try and stick together. Am I worried about them? Ha! Not at all!
These guys trained hard, I should know. I supervised their training after all. I even put them through the Saitama training regimen Izuku went through. Furthermore, I made sure of their diet and gave them nutrient fluids. Their levels even increased by an average of 10.
They’re the best version of themselves they can ever be at this point in time.
In fact, in canon, they should have steamrolled everyone in this event without much problem. But they nearly failed because they got split up, and only after they regrouped again at the end did they finally pull through.
*Rumble!*
I feel faint vibrations through the ground just as I'm about to enter the examinee waiting area.
There was a guy named Yo Shindo, wasn’t there? I remember seeing him in the crowd just now. His quirk is Vibrate if I remember correctly. He’s the reason the class got split up in canon.
That tremoring in the ground was most likely him using his quirk to rupture the ground and split the class up.
Arata- “Heh.”
A meaningless action. After all, they’re all outfitted with neuro linkers. Their locations are shared, they can easily regroup.
Thinking this to myself, I walk into the building and sit down. Not even a second after I did that…
Announcer- “Aaaaaand we have another person passing.”
*Smirk*
Told you so.
I ended up passing the time by watching everything unfold through a satellite.
Everyone in the class passed one by one in quick succession, even Katuski and Eijiro weren’t that far behind.
They met with the Meatball user from Shiketsu High, but with Katsuki’s changed shield gauntlets, it was an easy win.
So yeah, nothing much happened.
An hour later, all 100 spots have been filled.
Announcer- “Now, can all of you please watch the screen…”
The announcer speaks up and all 100 of the examinees that passed looked at the big screen in the centre of the building. On it was a birds-eye view of the entire stadium we did phase one fo the exam in.
*Boom!*
Suddenly the whole area explodes and all the structures on the screen collapse. The buildings, the mountains, everything.
Everyone has the same look on their face. It is one of pure confusion. I mean, the amount of money invested into this place must be insane, but… they just blew it up?
Honestly, the amount of money getting flushed down the drain in this world is mortifying.
Hey! Get me the writer for this world!
It was at this moment the announcer told us our goal for this stage.
Announcer- “Rescue.”

We had to go around the ruined areas and save as many people as we can.
???- “Oy, there are people there!”
???- “What are they doing!? It’s dangerous there!”
Announcer- “The targets of your rescue are those people you see on screen. Every single one of those people is a highly trained Pro Rescuee!”
…
These people need a life. I mean who gets a job as a pro rescuee? The fuck even is that?
We were given some time to reorganise ourselves. Our class didn’t need to do much and just ended up talking to each other about what they did in the last phase and what they should do now.
*BEEP!*
A horn sounded off and the building unfolded like it did the first time.
… Why though? Just let us walk out the damn door.
Expecting something like this, we weren’t shocked like the first time and immediately set off.
Announcer- “Terrorists have launched a massive attack! There is city-wide destruction and people are hurt! Save every life you can!”
Tsuyu- “Is that the scenario for this phase?”
Arata- “Most likely. Pay attention and remember your training, everyone!”
Everyone- “Yes!”
Saying that, we all split up into groups we agreed on during the waiting time. I asked to be alone. During the training sessions, we went through during the past few weeks, I asked the teachers to focus more on rescue lessons. I knew what the exam phases were going to be, after all.
I convinced them saying that the provisional license should have rescue elements to it as well, and if not, then it won't hurt to learn anyway.
I don’t need to do much, I just need to pass the license exam. And to do that, I just need to play my part.
???- “H-help! My leg! Argh!”
I hear someone cry out from near me. I start running in the direction of the voice. I end up meeting a middle-aged man in a suit crying while struggling to lift rubble off his trapped leg.
Arata- “Hey! I'm here! Calm down. Look at me.”
I try and calm him down and retract my helmet, revealing my face and white hair.
Arata- “Can you feel your leg? Does anything else hurt?”
???- “N-no. B-but my leg… I can't feel it!”
Woah. This guy is really convincing. Jarvis’ scans tell me this guy is completely fine but even I would have been convinced if I didn’t know any better. Maybe these guys have some worth after all.
No, wait, this guy has some back problems. Well, not my problem.
I touch the rubble trapping his leg and use [Vector Manipulation] to hold it in place. Then I remove the rubble around his leg manually while making sure it doesn’t collapse again.
After dragging the man away safely, I carry him on my back and quickly arrive at the designated relief area. I drop the man off after quickly describing his condition and continue on my way.
If I wanted to, I could ask Jarvis to scan for any life signatures in the area and steamroll this exam. But I don’t.
I don’t mind showing off in front of my classmates, but this is a public area. Many people are watching. If I catch the eye of some unsavoury people…
Eh? I already showed off with the “Storm field”?
Details, details!
Also… never mention that name again. I take damage from the cringe every time I remember. I'm currently using [Self Reprogramming] to wipe it from my memory.
