Ch 11- Alien Food
Shea led us to the nearest restaurant. It was located at the end of the street. It was a shop with non-symmetrical odd-looking tables and chairs. One of its windows was open, allowing customers to peek inside. There was a metal signboard on the wall of the building. The entrance door was made of steel and the windows had bars. There were signs displaying the menu written in both English and Cyrillic alphabet.
After she parked Ryder and stored her drones in her inventory, we went inside.
"Good afternoon. How can I help you?" Instead of the server or the waiter, a nice male robotic voice greeted us. But there weren't any robots around us.
"We would like a table for two," Shea answered.
"Your table number is 3," the voice said.
"Thank you." Then we walked to the table.
As we moved our legs, I swept my gaze around me and was amazed by how many unknown weird-looking alien creatures were there. Some of them were wearing clothes, while the majority were naked. Their skin colors ranged from green to purple to pink. Their hair was black or brown, and their eyes were either orange or yellow.
I could see some of them had tentacles hands or feet. Some had both. Some of them had fish-like eyes. Others had wings or horns or tails protruding from their heads.
Several of them were talking to each other in their own language. But then some of them spoke in English. A few of them were eating while others were drinking.
'Compare to them my armor looks way--- more normal,' I thought. But one for sure, although those aliens looked different from each other, they could sit and eat together in harmony.
Just as that thought crossed my mind, a ruckus came not far from our left. I could hear the sound of chairs being smashed to smithereens. Someone shouted loudly. And then someone else yelled back in retaliation. But I couldn't understand their language.
I turned to the noise coming and saw two aliens going into a brawl. Both of them were wearing white shirts that were torn to shreds. Their pants were also ripped apart.
One of them was a female with long blue jelly-like hair covering most of her face. On the other side, there was a male with tentacle feet. They appeared to be at each other's throats, but the female was beating him with her fists. She kicked him hard in the gut and punched him in the face.
‘Or maybe not...' I changed my mind.
Shea exhaled a long breath.
"The security system will kick them out."
"The security system?" I repeated in confusion.
"You will see," said Shea lightly as we sat down in our seats.
Soon, two titanium cables came from the ceiling and approached them like a pair of snakes. One was blue, while the other was red.
They sprayed the two aliens with frosty smoke. The blue cable froze the female's jelly-like body until it turned to ice. The red cable froze the male's tentacle feet until they became frozen stiff.
Both aliens fell on the floor in pain and yelled in anger.
"That's The Security System," said Shea.
I could say it was a good system to maintain peace. Especially since this place had a lot of weird races and creatures.

A second later, two soldiers dragged them out outside.
"What will they do to them?" I asked. My gaze followed them until they disappeared from my sight.
"Not much. The soldiers will place them in separate detention rooms until they cool off their heads, make them sign an agreement that they won't repeat it again, and release them."
"I see..." Well, that wasn't that bad.
"So what do you want to eat?" she asked. She pressed a small button in the middle of our table then a hologram menu list appeared in front of us. It had the shape of a cube so both of us could read it at the same time.
I read the menu, hoping I could find something familiar. But all of them sounded weird. Or maybe it was because I didn't understand the language.
Since I couldn't find anything, I decided to ask Shea for help.
"Hey, can you tell me what kind of food this is?" I pointed at the menu. "I don't really know what to order."
"Ah! That one!" she said. "This is called the "JellyFish" dish. It has a layer of rice cake in the middle of it. Then it is topped with a variety of vegetables including onions, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes, celery, mushrooms, and corn. This is served with sour cream and a bowl of soup."
"Sounds good, I will take one," I said.
"Do you want anything else? You haven't eaten for a long time, I bet you will need more," she offered.
"Do you have any suggestions?"
"Hmm... How about the "Ustregs shark burgers." and "Ke'ron antelope mash"? Both are popular dishes here," she suggested.
Both of them sounded weird, but since Shea is a human like me, we should have a similar taste for food.
"Sounds good," I agreed, hoping I wouldn't have a stomach ache after eating them.
"Great, what about the drink?"
"I will take the same as you."
After she pressed the hologram a few times to make our order and pressed her device to the scanner near the button, the hologram disappeared.
As we waited, I swept my gaze around me, watching the foreign sight of a futuristic restaurant with all its alien guests.
'I feel like I'm in another world...' Not Earth and not Terra.
"Our lunch is ready," Shea's voice made me turn to the table.
"It's so fast," I said. We just ordered it a couple of seconds ago.
As the robotic arms that came from the ceiling put our food, my eyes widened in shock.
