CHAPTER 5: MEDITERRANEAN BLOOD SEA!
ORIGINAL Author: Chaos
SPINOFF Author: Vester
After coming back home from enjoying himself with his family, Mo Fan laid on the sofa to relax. He closed his eyes and somehow entered a deep dark void where there was not a single source of light.
“Spiritual world, huh… I kinda subconsciously enter it now whenever I’m relaxed…” said Mo Fan as he looked around and found that he was not wearing any clothes. He and his little pendant were the only slightly glowing sources of light here!
Mo Fan was able to enter his spiritual world after the Magic Formation incident. Whenever he was in deep sleep he would enter here, at first, he thought he was dreaming but after coming here multiple times and with the knowledge he received from his textbooks, he was convinced that this was not a dream. It was in fact his Spiritual World!
He came out of the Spiritual world and had drowsy eyes, he yawned, “If only I can awaken my Elements tomorrow…” Mo Fan murmured as he fell asleep.
…
…
Next morning, he woke up early because of his habit of studying but realised that he didn’t need to do that anymore. He wore his shoes and went out for a jog instead.
As he was jogging down his neighbourhood, he noticed that the Rainbow coloured mist in the air was thinner than before.
“Hmm~ This is the only thing I don’t know yet. What is this mist? And why can’t anyone else see this?” Mo Fan said he waved his hand scattering the mist away from his field of view!
He had asked everyone he knew about it, but they weren’t able to see it.
“Then again, there’s also this bluish mist… but it’s not like the rainbow mist which is everywhere. This mist only has its cluster in some parts of the area! And it’s not free like its counterpart, its clustered together into a huge ball of mist.” Mo Fan examined the mist’s behaviour. He had noticed this point 1-2 months earlier but never had the time to check it out because of his studies.
“In one of the textbooks, it was said that Elements and Mana exist everywhere in this world, but no one can see or touch them, but only feel them when they’re cultivating.”
“Could they be… but no humans or monsters are able to feel or see them if they’re not able to cultivate, right? Then how come I’m able to see them without even cultivating?” Mo Fan said as he was somehow confused about all this…
“Is it because of you, little guy?” Mo Fan flicked his pendant, but there was no response.
“Hmm… well whatever, since I don’t know about it, I won’t waste my time on it~” Mo Fan said leisurely as he stretched himself.
“This world really is different though. Just right now on news this morning, the whole Mediterranean Sea was turned into Blood!” Scientifically it’s just not possible, but this world is not his old world, but a new world which defied the logic of his old world~
“They never said who was responsible for it though~ Can’t believe something like that is possible, but it did happen” Mo Fan said as he recalled the news he watched before leaving the house.
…
He started jogging again after having a short break. He turned around a corner and spotted a familiar figure walking from the opposite direction.
The moment that figure saw Mo Fan a smile blossomed on his face, “Brother Fan!”
He ran towards Mo Fan and gave him a bear hug!
“Whoa?! Dude chill! We haven’t seen each other for only 4 months or so~” said Mo Fan while feeling relieved that Zhang Xiaohou did not change and was still the same as the one, he knew. This monkey like youth was Zhang Xiaohou, one of the children of the families that lived near this block. One could say that he grew up with Mo Fan.
“Brother Fan, it’s been so freaking long! How have you been? What were you doing? Where were you? Why didn’t you visit me even once?” As soon as the skinny boy let go of Mo Fan, he immediately shot Mo Fan with a barrage of questions.
“Wait man, Calm down! I can’t answer to so many questions all at once.” Mo Fan said while feeling a little overwhelmed.
“Oh sorry, hehe.” Zhang Xiaohou said
“Well, I was busy studying all this time for the finals so that was the reason why I didn’t visit you or anyone else” Mo Fan said
“Oh! Are you going to Tian Lan Magic high as well?”
“Yep, and the way you said it, it seems you’re going there as well, right?” Mo Fan said
“Yes, brother Fan, I’m going there too!” Zhang Xiaohou replied enthusiastically.
“Oh, that’s right! I wanted to confirm some things from the past!” Mo Fan said
“Past?”
“Let’s go, we’ll talk at home.” Mo Fan said.

…
Mo Fan heard all the stories of the past from this Zhang Xiaohou. Some of them matched but some of them didn’t. But most of the important events were matching with what he knew. Like the incident which happened when Mo Fan was 12 years old.
He will never forget that incident where his father was miserably beaten up because of his mistakes. He will never forget the pain and anger he felt when his father was kowtowing while being beaten because of him! He will never forgive himself and those people for what they did to his father!
“Well, it’s good that most of the things do match…” Mo Fan murmured as he clenched his fists tightly. His gaze wasn’t something you could say that it belonged to a fifteen-year-old.
“That’s right! Brother Fan I brought you some good news.” Zhang Xiaohou suddenly said.
“What’s the good news?” Mo Fan asked.
“Little Princess is back; I saw her when I was by the entrance to the mansion. Wow, you have no idea how much prettier Little Princess has gotten—she’s just like a Goddess of Snow.” Zhang Xiaohou said with some excitement.
Mo Fan glanced at the mansion across the street. The mansion was exquisite to the point where it caused everyone to feel envious. Every inch of the flowers, plants, and trees had been through careful enhancement, causing it to reach the level of a real garden park.
However, the beautiful mansion’s garden was currently being surrounded by tall iron fences.
When he reminisced back to his childhood, the iron fences were not there. He had regularly brought along the kids from this street to the mansion’s garden to play.
At the highest location of the residency, there existed many extremely exquisite European-style villas. In the eyes of these children, they looked like a castle from a fairy-tale, and within the castle was indeed a Princess so beautiful that made them forget to breathe. She was at a similar age to them, and Mo Fan would frequently sneak the Princess out to play with them…
He couldn’t remember when the iron fences appeared around the residency, and the adults in the neighbourhood no longer allowed their children to go into the mansion. In addition, the make-believe Princess had turned into a real Princess in the castle. Following the passage of age, they became more and more distant, and the number of times they met became less and less.
“Did you know? I heard that Little Princess is currently the Ace of the renowned Imperial University, her innate talent of Ice element is simply incomparable with her peers. She can utilize Ice magic at the tender age of 15.” Zhang Xiaohou said in mystery.
Mo Fan was astonished. If Zhang Xiaohou were to tell him that the Little Princess received a medal in the Olympics, then he probably wouldn’t feel anything. However, if it was about becoming an Ice Elemental Maga, then that was something completely different!
Most people had to wait until they turned 15-16—in their first year of Magic High School—to receive awakening before obtaining their first Element.
After obtaining that, it didn’t mean you had become a real Mage yet. You had to go through a long process of training, meditating daily, and diligently practicing Star Alignment before being able to release magic.
_Xuexue sure is impressive, she became a real Maga at the age of 15! _
_Could it be that she is the so-called Child Prodigy? The Child Prodigy of the Magic World! _
“Brother Mo Fan, I feel sorry for you. If only you put in more effort to take away the naive and innocent Little Princess back when we were younger. Now she’s talented and good looking, tsk tsk tsk… it sure makes us quite envious.” Zhang Xiaohou said as he raised his eyebrow.
“That was when we were young, things are different now so stop talking about useless things.” Mo Fan said while feeling a little annoyed.
“Oh… that’s right, hehe…” Zhang Xiaohou quickly realised he touched Mo Fan’s inverse scale and quickly quiet down.
“Sigh… but still how is she able to release her magic so early than us?” Mo Fan asked Zhang Xiaohou.
“Huh? What are you talking about Brother Fan? Little Princess self-awakened at the age of 12. That was the time when she suddenly stopped coming to play with us and also the time when you both…” Zhang Xiaohou didn’t complete his sentence further.
“Self-Awakened? What do you mean?” Mo Fan asked while feeling surprised
It was a new term which he hadn’t heard about yet.
“You… did you even forget about that?! Sigh~ Brother Fan all this studying has made you dumb” Zhang Xiaohou said while sighing.
“Dude did I ask your opinion about myself? Just answer the damn question!” Mo Fan said while being annoyed.
“Self-Awakening is a rare process where some people awaken their elements by themselves without the help of an awakening stone! It is an extremely rare phenomenon where it can be said that only one in ten million people are able to self-awaken themselves”
Mo Fan’s eyes went wide as he was surprised! The person he had a crush on and who was always beside him and was always led around by him, had already left him in dust… No, she was at a point where he couldn’t even see her shadow, much less her!
She had awakened her Elements at the age of 12, while all Mo Fan did was waste his time away doing stupid things!
He was frustrated! Frustrated at himself and at his lousy fate! Even after traversing worlds, his family remained poor, his father was still a beaten-up old loser while he was the same as well.
“Nothing has changed, and nothing will change unless I do something with my own hands” Mo Fan said as he bit his lip in frustration, and looked at the pendant dangling around his chest.
The rich will be rich while the poor will be poor!
