A crowd of cultivators from various small islands and continents gathered at the flying fortresses around the Holy Land Continent.
Today was the last day of the registration period for the major continents. Tomorrow, the real Holy Land Tournament would begin.
The crowd could no longer participate in the event. However, they still wanted to witness the grand fight between the top experts, who had reached the pinnacle of this mortal world.
Small sects brought their disciples to broaden their horizons. Talented cultivators came here to get some inspiration from the tournament matches while merchants used this opportunity to make money.
The queue for entering the Holy Land Continent extended for several kilometers. The border officers had a headache inspecting the visitors.
Because of the chaotic procedure and the exhaustion, the border security began to lax. Many officers let the visitors in after skimming through their identity tokens without checking whether they were authentic or not.
A young man in a hooded jacket passed the border by only showing his identity token. The staff didn't even bother looking at his face.
The man smirked as he strode, passing through the crowd in a hurry.
As he was bolting through the border, his hood slipped, revealing the cat ears and his orange hair. His large yellow pupils stood out while his nose was similar to a cat.
He was not a human.
Panicked, the catman adjusted his hood and covered his face with a mask. He dashed away from the crowd without letting anyone see his face.
After all, he had already detected some pursuers from his planet.
'Why is the agent from my planet here? Has Mu-Nyang finally allowed his people to venture to other mortal planets? That's impossible!'
As the man ran, one of his octopus tentacles slipped out of his pants. The disguise was not perfect as this catopus hadn't mastered a transformation technique yet.
For now, he needed to hide, and this continent with high security fit his taste.
'Many strong and delicious humans are here. I'll lurk here and hunt these mortals as food for now.'
…
RUMBLE
The island platform, located at the heart of the Holy Land Continent, was surrounded by the moat of golden wine. Fountains sprung out the Holy Wine to the moat, and the content continued to flow toward the shrine of the Holy Land, the Honk Shrine.
However, nobody paid attention to the golden wine or its usage. A massive blue portal suddenly appeared, and two deities led his people to the place.
Uriel and Azazel came out first, followed by Nero and a giant walking tree.
Wei Yuan, Kang Yan, Ma Xingjuan, Zhou Gongjin, Ju Shoufen, Lai Wen, Dian Wei, Xiahou Dun, Zhao Bao, and Mao Xueyan came out later. They were the ten representatives of Aves Continent that they had agreed upon.
Then, the other non-contestants followed after the group. Hopea, Xu Lanying, Xiahou Yuan, and White Album acted as the group's protectors or guardians, leading the yin slaves and disciples of Ten Path of Nirvana Sect to spectate the event as well.
Zhuge Kongming, Pang Lingming, Pang Tong, Pao Luo, Gang Xingba, the Zhu Clanswomen, and the Sun Clansmen came as well.
Zhou Gongjin was in a good mood. His nemesis, Ling Tianlong, was already dead. Now, his sworn brother and the Sun Clan were safe. He was also a part of this major tournament, and he could win big if he was lucky.
Following Zhou Gongjin was the Qiongqi cub. He kept pestering this protagonist about his bloodline.
"Hey, brat. How did you get that bloodline? It's even stronger than mine. Tell me, did you meet my ancestor?"
Zhou Gongjin ignored the tiger's questions, but he tossed a fish at it. The cub instinctively grabbed the fish and ate it in glee.
The crowd of people attracted the attention of the protector of this pond. But once they noticed the aura of the two deities, they cupped their fists.
WHOOSH
A giant swan immediately rushed here. Karen, the Swan Goddess, had to show up to receive Uriel.
"How're your injuries?"
"Manageable. Thanks for delaying the tournament for me."
"Ha! You owe me one. Anyway, are those your toys? They're a bit weak, don't you think?"
The giant swan laughed as she leered at the women. Aside from Dian Wei, no one was in her eyes as their cultivation base was too low.
Even the 8th-stage fighters like Zhao Bao or Zhou Gongjin couldn't get Karen's attention. She deemed them as incompetent.
Uriel turned to the people behind him. Then, he shrugged, "I couldn't agree more."
"Don't you have faith in your representatives? Don't you value your reputation? You're their host, remember?"
"Reputation means nothing to me. You should know that better than anyone else since we fought several times. Want me to curse you into something else again?"
"Tsk! Anyway," Karen shifted her eyes around, searching for a certain individual. "Where is Mao Miaomiao?"
"He will arrive when he needs to show up."
"Do you think that I don't know what you've been scheming? I watched the channel! Look at that dragon and the ancient demon tree. Are you trying to cheat the clan lord tournament?"
Nero and OHUHU sweated. The swan goddess discovered their scheme.
"I don't have a clue what you're talking about," Uriel feigned ignorance.
"Ha! You can pretend, but you can't abuse my world's game! You know what? The Clan Lord Tournament's rules have been changed. Nobody can use their familiar in any match!"
Everybody's faces turned white when they heard of Karen's threat.
OHUHU rushed to his master and begged her, "Master, could you overlook this? Mao Miaomiao is my friend. I've come here to cheer for him."
"You," Karen rolled her eyes. "I told you to stay in that cave. Why are you coming out?!"
"It's a rare chance, so…"
"Get back to your cell, or I'll extend your prison term by a million years!"
The demon tree shed tears. He sulked and slowly walked back toward the portal, planning to return where he came from.
However, Uriel stopped the demon tree.
"You can stay."
"Hey!" Karen screamed, "Who do you think you are?! That pervert tree is one of my Dao Spirits. I'm his master, not you!"
"Under Samsara and Yama's Laws, Spirits, no matter if they are Dao Spirits or Sentient Spirits, have the right to choose their masters. If their masters wrongly exploit them, they can annul the relationship and form a new pack with a new master. They can also claim their freedom by entering the reincarnation river and start over as a new soul."
Karen frowned. She glared at the demon tree again.
"If you form a pack with someone else, I'll kill you and your new master. Don't you know that I'm your mother?! I gave birth to you and your existence! How could you do this to me?!"
OHUHU cried and lowered his head, unable to argue with his master.

Unable to stand the family quarrel, Uriel stopped them. He attempted to compromise.
"What do you want if I want this demon tree?"
Karen smirked, "Be my servant, and I'll cut my ties with that tree."
"My value is a trillion times higher than a Dao Spirit. I can't possibly serve you."
"Then, I want that war droid next to you!" Karen pointed at Azazel.
"Again, her value is higher than a Dao Spirit. How about this? I'll give you one of my inhabitable planets in exchange for his freedom. You don't want him and his Dao anymore, right?"
"Two planets. No less!"
"One planet and a plane."
"Deal!"
Karen laughed. Then, she transformed into a fat woman and shoved her hand into her stomach.
She pulled out a brown orb, which was similar to Heavenly Fate Crystal. However, its radiant wasn't as bright as a fate crystal as it contained a massive amount of Terra Element Essence, Luck, and Providence.
It was a Dao Crystal, a portion of her Golden Core in her soul dantian. It held OHUHU's life, karma, and the condensed elemental power which had been used as OHUHU's foundation.
Karen tossed it toward OHUHU, "You're free. From now on, we are strangers!"
OHUHU cried, "What did I do wrong to deserve this?"
"You took my virginity and ruined my precious Virgin Yin Dao!"
"But I thought you loved me. You always rubbed your things against mine."
"S-SHUT UP! Humph!"
Karen stomped away while her face reddened.
"…"
Everybody was taken aback by the Swan Goddess' selfishness. They gazed at the demon tree in pity even though he was known to be a pervert demon.
"Ohuhu, go back for now, but you don't have to go back to your prison anymore. Visit the Dryad Forest and guard the World Tree if you're free. You will benefit a lot if you sow good karma with the fairies, pixies, and dryads."
The demon tree nodded. He gazed in the direction where Karen had left for a moment, after which he walked back to the portal, heartbroken.
But before OHUHU completely entered the portal, Hopea sent him a voice transmission.
'A hundred of dryads are still looking for a husband. Maybe, they can be your Dao Companion.'
OHUHU's eyes lit up. He let out a weird cry and dashed into the portal.
"…"
Emerald Hopea laughed and shook her head. Then, she turned to Uriel.
"When will our husband arrive, Senior Uriel?"
"In a few hours. Well, let's register ourselves and be done with the official procedures, so I can get a place for you to rest. Also, the Holy Land Continent is a dangerous place, even in the Capital City. You can't wander around without a 9th-stage guardian or an immortal as a bodyguard."
Uriel looked at Nero, and the latter understood the archangel's intention. The dragon nodded.
"I'll protect them."
"Thanks, Nero."
"Don't chain me when everything is done. I want my freedom, too."
"Oh, well. If you make a pact to become Mao Miaomiao's familiar, I'll consider it."
"Me? That weak-ass servant? Hah! Who do you think I am? Do you think I'm a pushover? I'm the Great Dragon Emperor, mind you! Where and how do I sign the contract with that fool? Let's get it done right away!"
"…"
Again, everybody stared at the black dragon, speechless.
…
"MU-NYAAAA!"
A massive catopus swam through the Blood Sea like a giant speedboat while a young man had been riding on it. The ocean splitted behind them as the cat's swimming skill was devastating, killing any sea monster and creature in his range.
Meowmeow remained in his bloated transformation so he could swim faster. As for Miaomiao, he sat cross-legged, enjoying the ride. He also didn't forget to collect all the corpses that Meowmeow had left behind into his spatial rings.
He wondered if he could find the legendary One-Piece like this. He felt like he could become a pirate.
Unfortunately, Meowmeow was too efficient. He reached the Holy Land Continent in a flash.
"I found a land, Munya!"
"That's probably our destination. I see so many floating islands and people around it. Let's ignore them and directly fly to the continent!"
"Can I eat those flying people, Munya?"
"If they attack first, they are fast-food. If they don't, they are laxative. Don't eat them unless you want to have diarrhea."
"Understandable, Munya!"
The duo bypassed the checkpoints and the flying fortresses. They entered the continent without a permit.
Many onlooking cultivators stared at them in disdain. They also smirked, waiting to see a show.
A few seconds later, a party of ten 8th-stage cultivators surrounded Miaomiao and Meowmeow. They pointed their spears at them.
"Halt! Identify yourselves!"
Miaomiao raised his eyebrows, feeling like he had forgotten something.
On the other hand, Meowmeow licked his lips. His food appeared.
"Yare-Yare…"
"Fast Food, Munya!"
