Chapter 1 — The New Kid

“The user you have dialed is turned off.”

A mechanical female voice said from the phone. Shen Muan was a little confused when he heard the voice.

Just now the head of the kindergarten told him that a new child would come to the Rose class today, but just as he finished saying that, the phone was hung up. Shen Muan thought he had accidentally hung up, so he dialed back. All he got was that the other party had turned off.

Therefore, he was in a very awkward situation. He knows nothing except that a new child was coming today.

Shen Muan felt that this was the biggest problem he had encountered this year while working here. So he first went to the archives to check the child’s information but found nothing. He went to ask other teachers, and no one knew anything about it.

So, was it decided for the child to only attend school temporarily?

Shen Muan felt a bit of a headache, but he couldn’t ignore it. He asked other teachers to take care of the children in the class and went to wait at the gate of the kindergarten.

Seeing today’s scorching son, Shen Muan was worried. He didn’t know how long he would have to wait.

He hid in a cool place at the door with his mobile phone in his hand. From time to time, he dialed the principal’s phone number, but the principal’s mobile phone was still turned off.

About ten minutes later, a red Ferrari stopped at the gate of the kindergarten. At this time, whoever it was would be attracted by the Ferrari.

It was the first time for Shen Muan to see such a luxury car up close. He sighed and his eyes fell on the man who came out of the driver’s seat.

The man was wearing a red suit and his hair was fixed behind his head with hair gel, he looked a little fierce. The man went to the co-pilot, opened the door, and lifted a little boy in a white shirt and black suspenders.

The boy seemed to have long been used to the man’s actions. After the man put him down, he skillfully arranged his clothes.

The corner of Shen Muan’s eyes twitched slightly. This was probably a father taking care of the child, it was already good enough to be alive…

Though he was a bit reluctant to make complaints about it, Shen Muan walked up to them with a smile on his face and asked, “Hello. Excuse me, is this the kid who is going to enter school today? I am Shen Muan, the teacher of the Rose class.”

The man nodded slightly and gently pushed the little boy standing next to him.

Shen Muan knelt, smiled, stretched out his hand to say hello to the little boy, “Hello, my name is Shen Muan, you can call me Teacher An, what’s your name?”

The little boy looked shyly at Shen Muan, put his little hand on Shen Muan’s hand, and introduced himself with a young child-like voice, “My name is Xiao Ruzhi, my nickname is Zhizhi, and I’m three years old this year.”

“Hello, Zhizhi.” Shen Muan held Xiao Rhuzi’s soft little hand. His irritable mood because of the heat, now instantly disappeared. This child was too cute.

After getting acquainted with the child, Shen Muan habitually showed a bright smile to the boy’s parents, “Will Mr. Xiao come to visit the kindergarten? I can…”

Before Shen Muan finished his words, he was interrupted by the man in a red suit, “My name is not Xiao.”

“I’m sorry.” Shen Muan was stunned and could only smile awkwardly, so what was the identity of this man?

“My name is Fang Xu, Zhizhi’s uncle.” Fang Xu glanced at Shen Muan lazily and didn’t get angry because of Shen Muan’s misunderstanding. He would always be more tolerant of good-looking people.

When he heard the name, Shen Muan felt a little familiar. His eyes fell on the lovely little boy and subconsciously thought that he was being suspicious. There were so many people with the same name and surname in the world. He thought it was normal to be familiar. Just like in a novel he read before, the villains in it seemed to have the same name as them when they were young and older.

“Will Mr. Fang come to visit the kindergarten? Take a look at the place where Zhizhi would go to study later.” Shen Muan shook off the messy thoughts in his mind and invited him again.

Generally speaking, at this time, parents would immediately agree that they need to know about their children’s future learning environment. Sometimes, even without waiting for the teacher to ask, they would take the initiative to make this request.

But Fang Xu hesitated. In fact, he also wanted to see the environment of the kindergarten, but he was fierce and feared that he would scare the children. Fang Xu had been the object of fear from childhood. His parents liked children very much, but no children dared to go to his house because no one wanted to get close to him.

Except for his nephew who he’s been watching from childhood, Fang Xu was really unpopular with children.

Xiao Ruzhi pulled Shen Muan’s sleeve as if he had something to say to him.

Shen Muan simply followed his ear.

Xiao Ruzhi roughly explained it, Shen Muan looked surprised at the young man. Although his face was a little fierce, his voice was a little louder and somewhat informal, he could feel that this man still liked children.

Shen Muan thought for a moment and added, “It’s class time now. The children are in the classroom. It’s just time to show you around.”

With Shen Muan’s words, Fang Xu nodded. He looked at Xiao Ruzhi happily holding the new teacher’s hand and felt relieved. After all, the reason for this change of kindergarten was that Xiao Ruzhi didn’t like the teacher of the last kindergarten.

Fang Xu deliberately lagged behind Shen Muan and Zhizhi. Looking at the interaction between them, he felt that his sister was finally reliable for a while and found a good new kindergarten.

While introducing the kindergarten, Shen Muan took this new student to visit other students.

Seeing that Zhizhi was so lively and not afraid of other students, Shen Muan was very happy. He just didn’t know whether he would cry once his parent left…

Many children were very excited when they were accompanied by their parents when they first enter kindergarten. When their parents left, they would begin to cry and make a lot of noise.

It was okay to cry alone, but in kindergartens, it was easy to have a chain reaction.

As long as a child cried, it was likely that all the children in a class would be infected and cry together.

This was true despair.

But from the current situation, Zhizhi’s performance was still very good. It seemed that he wouldn’t cry… shouldn’t…

Fang Xu followed Shen Muan through the entire kindergarten. Although it was not particularly top-notch, it could be seen that the kindergarten was still very attentive.

After visiting the kindergarten, Shen Muan took Zhizhi into the class and introduced him to other children. Everyone expressed a warm welcome to the new friend. After a while, they were surrounded by other children.

Seeing that Zhizhi integrated quickly, Shen Muan’s last worry disappeared.

When Shen Muan walked outside the classroom with his mobile phone and wanted to exchange contact information with Zhizhi’s uncle, he suddenly received a call from the principal.

“Hello, Principal, I’ve received the new child.” Shen Muan said as soon as he got through the phone.

The director over there was stunned and asked, “What child? They haven’t arrived yet.”

Now it was Shen Muan’s turn to be stunned.

If they haven’t arrived yet… Then what happened earlier, who was the child he picked up?

Shen Muan subconsciously looked at the one playing there, and the little boy showed him a bright smile.

Shen Muan had an ominous feeling in his heart…
