[The Host must work hard. The quest would fail if Zoey Alvarez is taken by Keith Demiliore.]
"Shut up," Mathew growled as he looked at the images of Keith and Zoey exploring the city.
It was Friday today, three days since he went to the Mansion that once used to be Maria's home. And in these three days, Keith and Zoey met daily as they continued exploring the city.
Even today, they were hanging out together.
In every image that his men sent him, either the two of them were holding hands or they were affectionately smiling at each other. They looked to be so in love with each other that it was suffocating him.
"You have so many girls around you, yet you have to steal my woman!" He hammered a fist on the table and then placed his elbows on it to support his aching head.
Ever since the night he met Keith at Javier Alvarez's birthday party, nothing had been going right for him.
First, he failed to garner the appreciation of the girls that were present there, and then he even ended up making a mockery of himself.
Second, his plan to bring Maria Valeca on his side failed miserably. Not only did he end up paying her 200 Million Neris, but even ended up embarrassing himself when he contacted her yesterday and told her that the Mansion was now owned by Keith Demiliore.
She listened to his words and did not say anything, and then simply ended the call after asking him to have a good day.
"How the hell did I lose to her?!" His anger bubbled up again as he recalled the Hi-Lo game he lost at her hands.
That night, after he returned home, he played Hi-Lo with his bodyguards and Albert for hours, and not once did he lose in it.
He still did not understand how he lost that game. How did that 6 appear when it was supposed to be 1?
Mathew could tell now that his quest to conquer Zoey Alvarez was going to fail. He had lost all his confidence to approach her. The only way left now was to use an underhanded method, but it was something that was out of the question.
If he did use some underhanded method, then the entire city might pay its price if Keith is even a little sincere to the little miss of the Alvarez Family.
His heart turned cold when he realised once again how helpless and powerless he was against the Master of the Demiliore Family.
"This is not fair..." He whispered to himself as he held back the urge to hammer the table again with his fists.
He was so tempted to go and steal one of Keith's women, and subconsciously, the face of Minami appeared in his mind.
[The Host should be very careful about such thoughts.] The system suddenly spoke, and Mathew frowned at its words.
"Why?"
[She is not someone you can be reckless about, Host. The System can not predict the consequences you would face if you do such a thing.]
"You are kidding, right?"
[I am not, Host. The System can not get a read on Keith Argus Demiliore and Minami Demiliore.]
"Minami Demiliore?"
[That's her name.]
"She's related to him?"
[She must be. But the System can not answer the Host in detail as it can not get a read on Keith Argus Demiliore and Minami Demiliore.]
"And what could be the reason why you can not get a read on them?"
[Either they are very powerful existences that are not meant to be present in this world, powerful enough to guard themselves against the System, or their Fate is black.]
"Black Fate? What does it mean?"
[The System can not answer the Host's question. However, the System can tell you that it works on Fate, and it can not get a read on people with Black Fate.]
"How do you know that she is a Demiliore then?"
[Even the people with Black Fate are not beyond the Divine Laws. Her name is Minami Demiliore, and that is all the System can see about her.]
"Divine Laws?"
[The System can not answer the Host's question.]
"You are useless!"
[The Host is requested to show the System some respect.]
"Heh... so you feel offended too?"
[Of course, Host. The System is a living entity and it has a set of emotions, though they are very limited.]
Mathew was surprised to hear those words but soon his mind revolved around the things the System had just told him.
"So I should simply give up the quest on Zoey Alvarez because I should not offend Keith Argus Demiliore?"

[It's the Host's choice.]
"You just said that you can not predict the consequences I would face if I am reckless about people with Black Fate!"
[Yes, Host.]
"Then what fuck do you mean when you say that it is my choice?!"
[It is the Host's choice whether he wants to bear the consequences or not. The System only asks the Host to be careful since it can not predict the consequences if the Host associates with people of Black Fate. This means that it would also not know if the consequences would be dire or negligible.]
"Oh..." Mathew calmed down a lot after hearing those words. "Is it a good thing or a bad thing to have a Black Fate?"
[It is not a good thing, Host.]
"In what sense?"
[The System can not answer your question.]
The words irritated Mathew again, but he simply shook the thoughts aside and frowned as he glanced at the image where Zoey and Keith were holding hands as they strolled on the riverside pathway.
He gritted his teeth and felt his anger bubble up again. No matter what, he was helpless right now when it came to Zoey.
There was simply no honest way he could earn her favour. His only option was to do something illegal, but he did not dare to do it.
He also needed to devise a new plan to approach and garner the favour of Maria Valeca, and then there were Penelope and Hannah whom he planned on approaching again in a few days. At least, there were more quests with handsome rewards.
Three months later, it was Hannah's wedding to Javier, and he had to get her before that happens or his quest would fail.
Penelope was someone he knew, and he planned on going over to visit his father when he holds his Baking Class this weekend. She was quite a beautiful girl, and her father was the Deputy Mayor of Mystich City.
Though they were not a wealthy family, Jones were still a powerful family. With her on his side, things would become easier for him.
Even after arranging his thoughts, he was still in a sour mood and picked up his phone to give Julia a call. He needed to vent his anger inside her body, but before he could dial her number, he received a call from one of his bodyguards.
"Yes, Dino?"
"The enemies of the Goldsmiths Family are taking action. There's a team that is following the car of Amira and Reina Goldsmith. Their goal is most likely to kidnap them."
"How many?"
"There are two cars. 6 men."
"Their strength?"
"They are trained goons, but not Cultivators."
"Weapons?"
"Some of them have Pistols."
"Keep an eye on them. And make your location live." He immediately ended the call and rushed out of the room.
The Goldsmiths Twins were also his targets, and now he had received the opportunity to become the hero that saves the beauties and earns their infatuation. How could he miss this chance?
Gathering three of the best Bodyguards, who were in Nascent Profound Realm, he left the Mansion following Dino's location.
Though he had never battled anyone before, he had practised his Shadowboxing after receiving the skill. And he was quite confident in his ability.
As long as his opponents were not Cultivators, he could deal with them on his own. And his men could protect him against any accidents too.
He was a little nervous as he knew that the goons were armed, but it was simply an opportunity he could not miss.
Following Dino's location, he arrived at Flower Street. It was the place in the city where the best Florists had their shops, and the Twins were currently inside one of these shops.
"Rico, come with me. You two keep an eye on those black SUVs."
"Yes, Young Master!" The three bodyguards nodded and then followed his arrangement.
To not rouse anyone's suspicion, Mathew entered a nearby shop and ordered a bouquet of the finest white roses, and then he pretended to look around the shop and the flowers as he waited for the twins to come out.
However, a minute later, he saw something that froze him.
A red Cadillac Blackwing came to a stop in front of a nearby shop, and then a ridiculously handsome young man got out of the car together with a girl with beautiful chestnut brown hair.
Mathew's heart immediately sank as he had a bad premonition about everything that was going to happen next.
The ones who had arrived just now were Keith and Zoey, and Mathew had already started lamenting his luck.
But then he suddenly thought of something and a playful smile crept on his face.
Where there are guns, accidents could happen...
