Caesar Hotel, Mystich City, Oldwyn, Netheria.

It was a beautiful Sunday evening, and the city had received a rare downpour in the heat of the summer reason, which brought a joyous atmosphere everywhere.

Tonight, the Heir of the Alvarez Family was throwing a success party for his latest business venture, but only the younger generation of the city was invited to it.

By 7 pm, everyone was in the Presidential Hall, engaging in various activities from dancing to singing, and playing party games.

Only one person did not seem to be in the mood to join everyone, and it was Hannah Reyes, the fiancée of Javier Alvarez.

However, everyone respected her personal space and did not bother her or insist she joins in the fun.

Javier glanced at his Fiancée from time to time, worried and curious about why she looked so distracted today.

As far as he knew, she was not having any problems with the business. He always made sure of it that she would not face any great troubles, helping her deal with them secretly.

"Hey, Javier. Did you hear that a man named Jacob Frost sexually assaulted the daughter of the Deputy Mayor? The Jones are out for his blood." One of his friends suddenly brought up the news that had been circulating in the city.

"Frost?" A girl curiously raised her brow, and picking up on her words, another girl widened her eyes.

"Is he by any chance related to that Heir Frost?" She asked.

"They are father and son," Javier told her, seemingly uninterested in the news.

"What?!" Those who were not aware gasped in shock.

"He's not kidding. They are indeed father and son." Another boy in their group nodded his head.

"Poor Penelope..." A girl expressed her sorrow and soon everyone turned to look at her.

"You know her?" Someone asked.

"Mhm.." She nodded. "I, Penelope, and Hannah went to the same kindergarten."

Those words made Javier widen his eyes in realisation, and he immediately excused himself from the group to walk over to his fiancée.

"Hannah." He sat next to her and worriedly called out to her. "If you had told me that you were not in the mood because of what happened to Penelope, I would have not insisted that you come here tonight."

His words made her frown, but she did not say anything.

She, of course, could not say to him that she was not really sad for Penelope. What bothered her was how Mathew would be feeling right now.

It was a strange that she found herself always thinking about that young man. And though they had only met a few times, she seems to have developed a certain care for him.

Knowing that his father was a rapist must have hurt him. It was what bothered her.

"Hannah..." Javier again called out to her, worried that his words must have added to her sorrow.

"I am fine, Javier. Go be with your friends." She raised her head and smiled at him, and soon a pang of guilt hit her.

He was handsome, very handsome, always cared for her, and they knew each other since they were kids. Yet, she never found herself capable of reciprocating his love.

"Alright. If you don't feel good, don't hesitate to tell me. I will drop you off at home." He comfortingly spoke to her.

"I am fine. And father wanted me to come here and be with you." She told him. "Master Demiliore is late." She looked around the hall and said.

"He and Zoey are on their way. In fact, they should be here any moment now..." He spoke, and right then, the door of the Hall opened and his little sister walked in, locking her arms with Keith. "Here they are." He smiled and then grabbed Hannah's hand, leading her to greet the latecomers.

"Master Demiliore." Javier and Hannah greeted him in unison, and Keith politely smiled at them.

"Heir Alvarez, Miss Reyes. Apologies for coming late."

"It's not a problem." Javier immediately shook his head and then allowed the other guests to come forward and greet Keith.

He smiled slightly when he found her little sister protectively holding Keith's arm. And though he was a little worried for her, since he knew that she could never marry the Master of the Demiliore Family, he just hoped that Keith was honest with her and cared for her too.

Seeing how attached Zoey was to Keith, the family had a chat about it last night. Their mother was very hesitant about the idea of letting her daughter become someone's mistress, but she too realised that in case Keith returned Zoey's feelings, they could not really stop the two of them from becoming lovers.

The gap between their Families was just too big.

"Javier, I would like to speak to you alone." Keith suddenly said when they approached their table.

"Of course," Javier curiously nodded and then the two of them excused themselves away from the other guests. "Yes?"

His curiosity rose as he watched Keith pick out his cell phone and then hand it to him, playing an audio file on it.

As soon as he heard a certain man's voice, Javier's eyes narrowed.

"Gendou was involved in your father's murder, and so was the Alvarez Family. Your father made a mistake, and his men beat the wrong person. The person they beat was a child of the Alvarez Family, and so your father was made to pay the price for his transgression."

...

...

"It was Gendou who shot your father in the head."

"You will help me deal with Gendou, pay my debts, help me expand my business, and you will also help me deal with the Alvarez Family?" The lady mockingly asked. "Who do you think you are, Heir Frost?"

...

...

"Do you think I would approach you if I was not confident in my ability?" Mathew's voice sounded confident.

...

...

This was the conversation Mathew had with Maria Valeca in the cafe several days ago, and needless to say, Javier was in disbelief at everything he had listened to.

"The woman he was talking to is Maria Valeca," Keith informed him. "She's a very beautiful and capable woman. However, she thinks of your family as her enemy. I looked into the matter, and whatever Mathew told her was indeed true. However, your Family had not ordered her father's murder but his surrender, and it was Gendou who took the liberty to shoot him."

"Is he insane?" He asked, talking about the stupid Heir of Oscar Family.

"Who knows." Keith smiled. "He had his men keeping eyes on your sister, Hannah, the Goldsmith Twins, Maria, Penelope..." He meaningfully took their names, "as well as his ex-girlfriend named Melissa."

"He dares!" Javier understood his words and could not contain his anger, and the sudden outburst caught everyone's attention.

Hannah frowned, but it was only Zoey who dared to approach them.

"What happened, Brother?" She worriedly asked.

"Nothing..." He sighed and then smiled at his little sister. "Go be with Hannah."

"I don't want to." She did not hide her disapproval of Hannah, never did.

"Zoey..."

"What happened?" She asked again and then looked at the phone he was holding in his hand.

It was Keith's phone, and she curiously looked at its owner.

"Let her listen too."

"It's..." Javier hesitated but then let Zoey listen to the recording as well.

And he found it strange that she did not seem too shocked at all of it.

"I guessed so. After all, he had his men keeping eyes on mine and Hannah's movements..."

"You knew?!"

"Yeah. I was there when Keith confronted him." She told him. "Who's this woman?"

"Maria Valeca."

"The owner of the Emerald Casino?"

"Yes." Keith nodded to her. "Go. I want to talk with Javier."

"Okay." To her brother's surprise, she obediently followed Keith's words and left them alone.

"She already listens to you more than she listens to anyone in the family." He chuckled.

"Is that so?" Keith told lightly laughed at those words and then took his cell phone back. "What do you plan to do?"

"I will talk with Father about it," Javier informed him.

"In case you have not been informed, the Oscar Family has lost their underground channels and half their wealth."

"What?"

"Yes." Keith smiled.

"That should make it easier." Javier narrowed his eyes.

"You should meet with Maria and clear things with her. After all, your Family is not truly responsible for her father's death, and her hostility to your family is unwarranted."

"There is no need to talk with such a person..."

"Your loss." Keith shrugged, which made Javier frown.

"Why?"

"She's a very intelligent and capable woman. An Auror too. If you could help her deal with Gendou, and somehow make her feel indebted to you, she would only prove beneficial to you and your family." He told him. "But if you don't want to do it, make sure that you kill her. After all, a woman as capable and beautiful as her could prove to be a very dangerous enemy." He chuckled before he patted Javier's shoulder and walked over to Zoey, who was waiting for him.

Watching Keith's back, he could not help but think over his suggestion. And he felt grateful too.

Javier saw his little sister happily laughing and chatting with Keith, and he could tell that the Master of the Demiliore Family was only willing to help them because of her. Otherwise, he would not have bothered about someone as insignificant as the foolish Heir of the Oscar Family.

Excusing himself from the room, he immediately dialled his father's number, intending to tell him about the ambitious and outrageous plans of the Oscar Family.

He intended to make another call to his in-laws as well. After all, they needed to be wary of these things.
