Night. In an abandoned ruin.

"Hmm, I think this translates to, 'Carried within the northern wind southward, are the scattered essences of sun and moon creatures . . . only with destiny sacrificed can one awaken their spirit of . . . ," muttered a crouching woman as she scrutinizing a broken slab on the floor. While the scavenger team she's a part of has mostly entered deep into these ruins, as a low leveled archer who recently took an interest in the field of archaeology, Clarissa stayed behind to gain experience in her new interest by deciphering intact characters on surfaces hidden within the scattered rubble.

Standing up and searching around, Clarissa realizes that her two teammates that stayed behind with her were nowhere to be seen.

"These two bastards dared to leave such a fine lady as me alone. I'll let them experience my poisonous arrows when I find them." Venting such poisonous words, she'd just begun to gather her supplies in hand when a raspy voice sounded by her left, pointed ear.

"I don't think that they'll get to experience such things."

"Ahhh!" Clarissa shrieked and rolled forwards. She readied herself in a battle position, gazing behind. There, an old man in white garments and hands cuffed behind his back watched her with a slight smile.

"Who are you and what do you mean?" She stuttered out as her body tensed from the pressure the man brought upon her.

"You only have to tell me if you are here with others and among them, youngins under 20. Tell me this and we'll both be on our way." The old man said in a loud and hurried tone.

"Y-Yes, I am a part of a team scavenging these ruins, sir." Clarissa knew from the pressure this man gave her that he had at least awakened so she hurriedly replied.

"Good, then I hope this group has the thing we need if only that waste hadn't died," he mumbled to himself. Looking at the unawakened elf in front of him, he further spat with impatience, "Hurry and search for one with the right age, quickly!"

Then, the shadows behind the man moved and drifted off deeper into the ruins.

Seeing this, Clarissa flinched, sweat turning her back cold. Scurrying backward she questioned with a shaky voice, "Senior may I take my leave now?"

After giving her a once over, he replied coldly with slight annoyance. "Ah, yes, hmm, you are not pleasing enough to lower my scared body to combine with your unholy self, pray that in the next life you don't waste such opportunities presented to you."

"W-Wha . . . " Before she could utter her response, a bright silver gleam slit her perspective in half.

Blowing out a breath of foul air, the man looked disgustedly at her remains whilst sheathing his sword. Making sure that his white robe wasn't tainted with her blood, he started back towards the entrance of the ruins.

Inside a corridor some distance away.

"Jason get your ass out here now!" Shouted a masculine voice. The words echoed from a distance and blasted into a young man's ears, stimulating his senses and focusing his mind to process his current surroundings.

He could not believe his eyes. Looking around him, Jason's soul which had become stagnant from accepting the pain of daily torture he'd been accepted to was given a new sense of fright, something only experienced in the early days of his capture.

He stared stunned at what presented itself in front of him.

Only after calling his name for the nth time had he centered himself on a reality he'd often dreamed of every night of his servitude.

Waving his hands and scanning the rest of himself, it struck him that his old worn-out body was replaced by a younger version of itself. If he remembers correctly, this is what he looked like at the beginning of 16 years of age.

"I'm in the body of my younger self, what dark sorcery is this?" It was then that his nose flared from a putrid smell. "This wretched smell can only be found in Kobalt ruins and this place seems oddly familiar," he mumbled.

Tap Tap tap.

Coming from the large open door arc behind him, the sounding of footsteps became louder and closer.

Turning around, he finally realizes what event from his past he'd end up in when faced with a furious old-built man. He had a large ax stuck to his back and in his hands were a torch and coiled leather whip.

Seeing this old man made a long-forgotten feeling of hatred rise within him, to the point where it painted upon his face, making him look like he wanted to settle a deep vengeance.

Leaning his body against the arc of the doorway, Lupus breathes in and out roughly. He had told this carrier slave to scout this area in preparation to search for more texted scriptures with Clarissa, but after getting no response in return when he called out to him, he hurried over with a tense expression. Now, seeing this scrawny little runt fine and even glaring at him in defiance, made anger take hold of him.

"Boy, why didn't you answer my call? If I didn't need a scout to clear danger in this place, I'd already killed or sold you off! Know your place and answer when called upon! This is not a game, come here!" Lupus shouted in anger, unwrapping his coiled whip.
