“Such an idiot! You are beyond stupid!” Moxinke grinned. “Do you know who you are threatening? A magus… I’m sure you will die a horrible death!”
“A magus?” The soldier was shocked and cast a glance at those young magicians. Then, the nervous and frightened expression on his face was replaced by a burst of insolent and arrogant laughter. “Magus? Ha ha… that’s funny. A magus who can’t even release a magic detection spell? Ha ha!”
The other mercenaries laughed along as well. Almost all of the strong ones who were famous throughout the continent had their own bloody stories of surviving numerous dangers! If there really was a magus among the young magicians, how could the mercenaries have gotten their hands on them so easily? Therefore, they didn’t believe Moxinke’s words.
“Thank you for your joke.” The soldier gasped and said in a sardonic tone. “You really amused me.”
“Actually… I am more amused than you.” Moxinke looked back at Han Jin. “Have you ever seen someone more stupid than this guy? What a miracle it is for him to be alive till now.”
“It’s not strange for him to be alive till now, but it will be a real miracle if he is still alive tomorrow,” Han Jin replied smilingly.
“Enough!” The soldier’s face darkened, and his right hand clenched again. With another crisp sound of fracture, the young female magician twisted her body like a struggling fish before being cut open. Her heartrending cry echoed a long distance in the forest.
“Lay down your weapons!” The soldier demanded coldly.
The genius magus bit her lips and finally put her magic wand down slowly. Her eyes were filled with hatred. If she were alone, she would have turned those mercenaries into ashes! But as a headmaster of a magic academy, she couldn’t disregard the safety of her students. How humiliating it was for her since she had always stood above the masses!
The soldier showed a proud smile when seeing that his purpose had been achieved. He didn’t expect that it would be so easy for the magicians to drop their weapons. However, Han Jin, Moxinke and Cessacioun were still standing there and made no reaction.
The soldier moved his hand again, snapping off another finger of the young female magician. This time, she was in too much pain to scream and had passed out.
“We already laid down our weapons. Why are you still doing this to her?!” Asa shouted angrily.
The soldier ignored him and continued to stare at Han Jin and the others. Their indifferent expressions were annoying. “Lay down your weapons! Each time I have to repeat it, I will snap another one of her fingers!”
This said, the soldier jerked the young magician’s hair and slapped her face, while a magician beside him released a water ball. With both the pain and the splash of water, the young female magician opened her eyes with difficulty.
The soldier nipped her index finger. “Do I have to repeat myself again?”
The genius magus suddenly turned around and looked at Han Jin worriedly. “Do as he said! Otherwise, Catherine will die!”
Han Jin smiled. “Is there anything about this in the written contract?”
The genius magus was stunned and had no words to refute him.
“You… Kill the three of them!” The soldier shouted. “Otherwise, I will do it again!”
The young magicians all looked back at Han Jin, Moxinke, and Cessacioun with unkind eyes. It was the nature of human beings to bully the weak and fear the strong. For them, those mercenaries who had kidnapped their companions could not be provoked, but with their headmaster here, Han Jin’s team could be easily defeated.
Han Jin and Moxinke looked into each other’s eyes and saw the murderous intention from the young magicians. Though they hadn’t intended to, they still had to meddle in this affair after being pushed to such a dangerous situation by the mercenaries.
Moxinke threw out his sword, not onto the ground, but to the soldier after a flash of cold light. The giant sword thrust into the ground, slanting about ten meters in front of the soldier.
Moxinke’s action was so abrupt that his opponent was taken aback and subconsciously hid behind the young female magician. But he felt ashamed when he found that Moxinke hadn’t attacked him at all. Still, he shouted at Cessacioun, “And you!”
“Have a look at the mountains, water, and the sky.” Han Jin said with a half-smile.

That soldier was stunned. “What?”
“Because you will never see them again.” Suddenly, the smile on Han Jin’s face disappeared. “Kill him!”
Before his voice had died down, Reg suddenly appeared beside one of the mercenaries. The dagger in his hand had already been stabbed deep into the lower abdomen of the magician. The magician was taken back, and the thief and archer beside him were both shocked. But before they could take any action, a wooden giant appeared out of nowhere, hugging the thief who was going to make himself invisible. Reg moved quickly, his dagger leaving a shadow in midair, and cut open the thief’s throat, splattering blood everywhere.
The archer was going to draw his bow but immediately stepped aside to keep his distance from Reg upon seeing the bloody scene. Just then, a black arrow soundlessly came toward him, shot him from the left waist, and pierced out from the right.
The soldier who was holding the hostage turned around upon hearing the noise from behind, only to find Han Jin’s figure floating like a ghost in front of him. When he turned back again, an enlarged fist headed for his face. His sword was still unsheathed, and there was no time left for him to dodge. In such an urgent situation, the soldier reached out his arm to block the coming punch, and his fighting spirit was released at the same time.
Han Jin’s movement was so fast that before the soldier could lift his arm, he was already hit in the face. With a heartrending cry, the soldier stumbled back with his hand covering his face.
Han Jin was trying to help the female magician stand when a hot fireball roared toward him. Han Jin had to push the female magician onto the ground and release a wooden giant to block the attack.
“River of Stars!” After an angry howl, Moxinke was already rushing over toward them. While pulling out his giant sword with an unstoppable momentum, he forcibly headed for the other soldiers.
“Stop! Stop!” The other thief shouted. “Or I will kill her!”
Moxinke and his opponents quickly moved aside in two different directions, but Han Jin disregarded the shout. He rushed straight toward the magician, who immediately released another fireball while running toward his own companions at the same time.
But suddenly, Han Jin sunk into the ground. The next moment, he reappeared beside the magician, punching his lower abdomen. The magician stiffened while covering his belly with his hands, and started slowly falling down. Han Jin didn’t want him to die instantly and had therefore reduced his strength. Otherwise, the magician would have already experienced the feeling of real heartbreak.
Han Jin smiled while looking at the opponent opposite him. “What did you say? Oh, I remember. Lay down your weapons. My patience is limited.”
The situation had dramatically changed. Now, both parties had hostages. Cessacioun hadn’t participated in the fight but stood in a position around three meters away from the two female deacons. In case the counterattack failed, he would snatch the two deacons away to keep as another way for retreat.
The soldier opposite Han Jin suppressed his own panic. He now regretted his greedy actions which had caused the death of a thief and an archer in his team. However, like an arrow on a bowstring, he had no other options.
“Stop dreaming! This woman is still in our hands. If you dare do anything to him, I can assure you of her death!” The soldier said viciously, jerking the other female magician’s hair.
Though he had timely released his fighting strength, he still could not escape the harm brought by Han Jin’s fist. His nose and the corner of his mouth were dripping with blood, and he had lost several teeth lost, making him look more ugly and ferocious.
The female magician screamed, but only twice before her lower abdomen was kicked by the soldier. Her body curled up into a ball like a shrimp. She could not even let out a sound, but beads of sweat were dripping down from her forehead.
Han Jin smiled, stomped on the magician’s shank, and exerted some strength. “Crack!” The magician’s shank also twisted into a weird shape. Then, after a painful scream, he rolled on the ground with his arms hugging his shank.
“It’s your turn.” Han Jin was still smilingly when he said this, but his smile was as horrible as a devil.
The soldier was speechless, and sweat was dripping down from his forehead. It was easy to estimate the real strength of your opponents if they attacked directly. From their hardhearted ways, the soldier realized that the guys opposite him were all battle-hardened characters who didn’t care about the life of the female magician at all. He would be in a disadvantaged situation if they had a head-on confrontation. Plus, they had a high-grade huntress lurking in the forest!
“What do you want?” The soldier forced himself to calm down.
Instead of replying, Han Jin turned his head toward the genius magus and asked after waiting for a long while, “I’m sorry, but are you really a magus?” He was very helpless at this time. With their strength, they could only save one hostage within such a short time, while the magus could save the other one by herself. However, she just stood there like a spectator, and not releasing even the smallest bit of magic!
After being asked, the genius magician suddenly blushed. Her mouth moved slightly as she wanted to say something, but Han Jin winked at her. She was not sure what he meant, but she continued standing there, staring at him.
Han Jin was even more helpless now. He turned around after giving her another wink.
“You idiot!” He suddenly shouted at Moxinke rudely.
“What? Who are you scolding?!” Moxinke roared angrily.
“You, idiot, who else!” Han Jin repeated with his face expressionless. Meanwhile, he was sighing in his heart. There was a really big difference between different people. No matter how talented the magus was, she still could not understand Han Jin’s hint, whereas Moxinke could immediately make the appropriate reaction. That was what a real partner should do!
