Reverend Jin Wu stood outside the golden palace with Lin Ya and Ling Chang on either side of him.
“Lin Ya, Xuan Qing, why did my teacher ask Wu Shan to stay?” asked Reverend Jin Wu. He had just dropped by and had no clue what had happened in room in that one day.
Yet Lin Ya and Xuan Qing had been in the room, so Reverend Jin Wu asked.
“Teacher, we’re not sure!” Lin Ya shook her head. They had been listening to Lord Fa Wu’s instructions the entire day. Nothing else had happened.
Curious!
Very curious!
Why had the master commanded Wu Shan to stay?
Had he spotted Wu Shan’s incredible talent?
Wu Shan possessed great talents indeed, but that did not mean the master had to instruct him one on one, right?
“Has he spoken out of place?” Reverend Jin Wu asked again. He worried Wu Shan might have said something unwarranted which, in turn, had infuriated the master.
Of course, the probability was slim, but he asked anyway.
“Not at all!” Lin Ya shook her head. They barely said anything.
“I think the master discovered his talents, and would like to offer him special guidance!” Ling Chang spoke softly. The invincible teacher must have picked up on Su Mo’s incredible talents.
“Perhaps!” Reverend Jin Wu sighed.
“You have another Primordial Spirit. Show me.”
In the room, after a while, Lord Fa Wu spoke.
Su Mo had released five types of Primordial Spirits. It was already an incredible feat and he was unlikely to have more, but Lord Fa Wu had completely seen through him. He knew Su Mo had one left.
Su Mo sighed. The master had truly seen through his secrets.
But he was not too worried, for the master had no reason to harm him.
Next, Su Mo triggered his thoughts. Dazzling purple light erupted from his body as they Vastness Purple Qi emerged.
“There it is!” A glimmer flashed in Lord Fa Wu’s eyes. Actually, he was not sure Su Mo had any more Primordial Spirits, but he could feel that Su Mo’s body and the last five Primordial Spirits were emitting a special kind
of aura.
This mysterious aura was inexplicably appealing to him.
Lord Fa Wu squinted at the purple light around Su Mo, drinking in the aura.
“Master?” Su Mo exclaimed nervously at Lord Fa Wu’s lack of reaction. He did not dare withdraw all his Primordial Spirits without the man’s permission.
“Wu Shan, if I’m not mistaken, this is the Vastness Purple Qi, right?” said Lord Fa Wu.
“Yes,” Su Mo nodded. The older, the wiser indeed.
He had been in the Palmy Branch long enough to meet the Elders and Chief Elders from many other Branches, but none of them could tell he had the Vastness Purple Qi on him.
But the master was able to spot this particular Primordial Spirit and managed to identify it as the Vastness Purple Qi as well.
With that, Su Mo withdrew all his Primordial Spirits. Everything had returned to the way it was.
Since the master recognized it, there was no need to show it any longer.
“Which World do you come from?” Lord Fa Wu asked. There were only three thousand Vastness Purple Qi in all, one for each World.
Among those, the one who held the Vastness Purple Qi of the Cloud Ridge World had become one of the ‘hosts’ of the Primitive Continent millions of years ago. So, he could confirm Su Mo was not from around here.
“From the Cosmic World,” Su Mo replied.

“Very nice. It seems you have the Luck of the Cosmos with you. Perhaps you are the Chosen One,” Lord Fa Wu commended.
“That’s flattering, Master. I am but an ordinary man!” said Su Mo humbly. He could not guess what the man was on about, so he replied with that.
“Wu Shan, can you spare me a drop of your blood? Ordinary blood will do!” Lord Fa Wu went on, “In return, you can come to be for guidance any time at all. I’ll clear any doubts you have regarding the martial arts!”
“Thank you, Master!” Su Mo agreed and bowed in thanks. He could not refuse, and he did not dare to.
Moreover, a drop of ordinary blood was quite harmless. In fact, a drop of blood essence was fine too. But the Master’s promise was priceless.
With a flick of his finger, a drop of blood protruded from the tip and was presented to Lord Fa Wu.
Lord Fa Wu took out a white jade vial and carefully collected the blood droplet. This rendered Su Mo speechless. Why would someone from the Kismet Realm cherish his blood like that?
“Wu Shan, come look for me any time you need, and I wish you good luck in the Headquarters Selection!” Lord Fa Wu said solemnly.
“Thank you, Master. I’ll be leaving now!” Su Mo got up and took his leave.
“Right. I’ll send you a gift before the Selection,” said Lord Fa Wu.
“Thank you, Master. I bid you farewell!”
Su Mo did not ask about the gift. He opened the door and left the room.
Phew!
As soon as he exited the room, Su Mo heaved a sigh of relief. At least this Master seemed nicer than Reverend Jin Wu. He should mean no harm.
Next, he strode out of the palace. Reverend Jin Wu, Lin Ya, and Ling Chang had been waiting for him.
“Let’s go!” Reverend Jin Wu was not in a rush to question Su Mo when he finally saw him. He gave his command and led the trio away from the Suspended Holy Mountains. They were heading back to the Palmy Branch.
“Wu Shan, why did the master want to see you alone?” Reverend Jin Wu asked him as they flew across the starry sky. As his teacher, he should not have been nosey about it, but he was really curious.
“The master says I have extraordinary talent. He says I can look for him for guidance any time,” said Su Mo.
everend Jin Wu and Lin Ya unwittingly twitched their jaws.
Extraordinary talent?
You sure don’t know how to be humble!
But they were mostly dumbfounded that Lord Fa Wu had actually allowed Su Mo to look for him any time he needed. This was surprising news!
Especially for Reverend Jin Wu. Even as a disciple, he did not dare to interrupt Lord Fa Wu and would only visit every several thousand years.
Even when he had been a disciple at the headquarters, he would only meet his teacher whenever he was summoned. He would not actively look for him.
Here, the Master actually allowed Su Mo to seek him for guidance any time? How was that possible?
Ling Chang, however, looked calm. Only she knew how terrifying Su Mo’s talents were. Moreover, his talents could grow. He could enhance his talents through Devouring.
So, from her perspective, the fact that Lord Fa Wu valued Su Mo’s talents had not come unexpectedly.
“Wu Shan, I’ve just realized, I haven’t given you much guidance since taking you in as a student. I’ll spare some time in the future to share my experiences in the martial arts with you. Of course, Lin Ya and Xuan Qing as
well!” Reverend Jin Wu sighed.
At that moment, he felt that he had been giving too little guidance to his three apprentices.
He had been so focused on his own training in the past and allowed his apprentices to train on their own. They could ask when they did not understand something.
And now, even his teacher Lord Fa Wu was willing to instruct Wu Shan, which was evidence of Wu Shan’s unbelievable talent.
Yet he had not bothered to find out what exactly Wu Shan’s talents were. This was a dereliction of duty on his part.
He kept thinking, if he had not taken Wu Shan as a disciple, his teacher Lord Fa Wu probably would.
“Thank you, teacher!” Su Mo, Lin Ya, and Ling Chang expressed their gratitude.
“Right now, your main duties are to prepare for the upcoming Headquarters Selection. We’ll talk more after that’s over,” said Reverend Jin Wu.
“Yes!” the trio nodded..
