Chapter 2706 Not Here To Verify!

Su Mo did not agree or refuse right away. He turned to Reverend Jin Wu.

Priest Tian Hua had been speaking to Reverend Jin Wu about the tokens, so Su Mo wanted to know where his teacher stood on this matter.

If he agreed, than Su Mo would not refuse. He had to honor his teacher.

“Whatever you wish!” Reverend Jin Wu transmitted a thought to Su Mo.

Su Mo acknowledged that. It seemed his teacher disagreed with Priest Tian Hua, which would make his task easier.

“Wu Shan, we haven’t interacted much but, since we are fellow sect members, please give me a token. I shall be forever grateful and promise to give it back in the future!” Chang Yi saluted Su Mo with utmost sincerity and courtesy.

Su Mo examined him. Indeed, he was not quite familiar with this person. He had only met him once during Priest Tian Hua’s birthday celebration.

“Sure, you can have one!” Su Mo nodded and, with a flip of his palm, retrieved a token and passed it to Chang Yi.

They might have been unfamiliar with each other, but Su Mo had nothing against him. On account of his sincerity, it would have been inappropriate for Su Mo to refuse.

“Thank you!” Chang Yi was overjoyed when he received the token and bowed towards Su Mo.

Quan Ruhai was getting anxious. His senior had managed to get a token, but his own fate remained uncertain.

“Wushan, we have had our share of conflicts, but they are all quite trivial. Nothing that calls for revenge. You won’t hold that against me, will you?” Quan Ruhai hurriedly spoke.

Su Mo looked at Quan Ruhai with a half-smile. He waited to see what Quan Ruhai had to say.

Sensing Su Mo’s silence, Quan Ruhai’s heart sank. He paused for a while before he solemnly said, “Wu Shan, we had our disputes because of Sister Xuan Qing. It’s true that I like her, but I’ve sworn to give up. From now on, I shan’t think of her that way.’

Then he added some more, “Besides that, Xiao Yushu wants to harm you. That time at my teacher’s birthday celebration, Zang Renjie’s attempt to murder you was arranged by Xiao Yushu. They are cousins!”

Su Mo was stunned. He might not have known the details but he had always known Xiao Yushu wanted to kill him.

And he in turn had killed Zang Renjie because the man had wanted him dead.

He never expected Quan Ruhai would tell him all this.

Once the word was out, Xiao Yushu became livid, accusing Quan Ruhai of being a bastard.

On the other side, Reverend Tian Jue appeared livid too, but he knew that what Quan Ruhai said was not false, because Zang Renjie had indeed intended to kill. It was quite evident. “Do you speak the truth?” Su Mo faced Quan Ruhai and asked calmly.

“Affirmative!” Quan Ruhai squarely nodded and said, in all honesty, “Wu Shan, I was wrong in the past. Please, I beg for your forgiveness!”

Quan Ruhai spoke in what sounded like a whisper. There was no other way. The token was far too important. He had to get one even if it cost him his ego.

The future would be much more secure for him as the headquarters’ disciple than remaining at the branch.

“Alright, I forgive you!” After a short pause, Su Mo ultimately chose to forgive him. Since Quan Ruhai had admitted his mistakes, Su Mo would honor him.

As for the tokens, since their functions could not be delayed, he had to give them away today.

“For you!” Su Mo handed one token to Quan Ruhai.

“T-Thank you!” Quan Ruhai’s hands shook with excitement as he slowly accepted the token. He was over the moon as he had not expected Wu Shan to disregard their past and give him a token so willingly. “I hope your words can be trusted!” Su Mo said.

“Of course!” Quan Ruhai nodded. “I am highly indebted to you. Wu Shan, if you have any requests in the future, I’ll do my best to fulfil them!”

“Alright!” Su Mo grinned, and then he flew straight to Xiao Yushu, who was not far away.

Xiao Yushu paled when he saw Su Mo approaching. His instincts told him to run.

But then he remembered he was a disciple of the Skynet Branch, and there was no proof of Quan Ruhai’s statement, so he did not.

“It’s been a while, Xiao Yushu!” Su Mo greeted Xiao Yushu with a faint smile.

“What’s it to you?” Xiao Yushu asked defensively.

“Aren’t you hurt?” Su Mo examined him and said.

“None of your business!” Xiao Yushu responded coldly. Indeed, he was injured, and quite seriously. He had been fighting for the tokens as well.

Unfortunately, despite his great talents, he was just a Low-rank Supreme Being. He could not even manage to catch a glimpse of the tokens. “You’ve plotted against me many times now, haven’t you?” Su Mo changed the topic and asked.

“What proof do you have?” Xiao Yushu snickered. What use is there in a sharp tongue? You can’t do anything to me without evidence!

“I’m sorry, I’m not here to verify anything. I’m here to kill you!” Su Mo said indifferently and, before he had even finished, he moved in for the kill. Using his finger as a weapon, he pointed at Xiao Yushu’s brain.

They stood less than two feet apart and, in addition to Su Mo’s quick reflexes, his mighty sword finger swung at Xiao Yushu’s head before the man even managed to react.

Boom!

There was a loud burst. Xiao Yushu’s head exploded in an instant, his Spiritual Soul and Primordial Spirit were destroyed as well.

Killing Xiao Yushu with one blow was relatively easy for Su Mo. Their powers were no longer on the same level. Many people were stunned. How dare Su Mo kill someone else on the spot in the presence of Tai Ying Sovereign and other Branch Elders? The audacity!

The disciples of Skynet Branch were enraged. Su Mo had just unscrupulously slaughtered one of their own. How savage!

“You! You’ve committed a crime for killing one of us!”

An elder with a strong physique shouted angrily, displaying murderous intent. No matter what hatred Su Mo felt towards Xiao Yushu and vice versa, the latter was a disciple of Skynet Branch. If they stayed silent, they would be seen as a joke.

He was Elder Yuan, one of the two Chief Elders of the Skynet Branch. He was furious, but there was nothing he could do to Su Mo. Su Mo had tokens, and was the headquarters’ disciple, so only the headquarters could punish him. “He plots against me all the time! I’m just returning the favor!” Su Mo retorted.

“Nonsense! You say that, but where’s your evidence?” Elder Yuan countered angrily. Then he saluted Tai Ying Soverign and said, “My lord, he murdered one of my men. He cannot be forgiven!”

“My lord, please be the judge of this!” “My lord, please judge this fairly!” “The punishment must fit the crime!”

Many elders and disciples of the Skynet Branch spoke up, begging for Tai Ying Sovereign’s discretion.

But Elder Murong, the other Chief Elder of the Skynet Branch who also happened to be Murong Qi’s grandfather, did not comment.

Nor did Murong Qi, who was right beside him.

They had other plans. They wanted a token, so naturally they could not offend Su Mo.

Reverend Jin Wu, Lin Ya, Ling Chang, and Priest Tian Hua, amongst others, observed solemnly. They did not speak on behalf of Su Mo. Whatever the reason, blatantly killing another fellow sect member was a crime.

Swoosh!

No one knew how or where Tai Ying Sovereign had gotten rid of the giant Space Beast’s carcass. Glancing at Su Mo, he said, “You have violated the rules by killing one of your own. But it is not I who shall punish you. Upon your entry into the headquarters, the ones in charge of enforcing the alliance’s regulation will decide what to do with you.”

“Yes, my lord!” Su Mo nodded. He had never intended to escape punishment, but he had no fear.

He was a disciple of the headquarters now. Xiao Yushu could not compare to him regardless of identity or status. The headquarters would not be too hard on him.

In other words, the headquarters would not punish their disciple too strictly for what he had done to someone like Xiao Yushu.

Di Yihun and Zi Xiao exchanged glances. Their eyes flashed with faint light as the same thoughts sprang up in their minds.

“Proceed with the tokens!” Tai Ying Sovereign commanded.

“Right!” Su Mo nodded. He had decided to return to Reverend Jin Wu’s side, for many members of the Palmy Branch had gathered there.

Since he had to distribute the tokens, naturally he would give them to the disciples of the Palmy Branch. It made sense to keep the goods within the same party. “Cough-!”

Just when he was about to do so, Elder Murong of the Skynet Branch, who was rather plump, coughed twice, “Young man, would you be so kind as to spare one token for my granddaughter, Murong Qi?” “Murong Qi?” Su Mo muttered. He turned around and noticed the lady next to Elder Murong. She was the one who had crossed arms with him several times inside the Space Beast.

Murong Qi kept her head low, unwilling to look at Su Mo because she felt awkward.

When they had been inside the Space Beast, she had chased after Su Mo first. Then, when Su Mo was fighting Zi Xiao, she had cut in. How could she ask for a token now?

Fortunately, her grandfather, Elder Murong, could request one for her.

“Elder Murong, don’t you know? Your granddaughter was awesome! She almost had me killed back there!” Su Mo cackled.

Er

Elder Murong was surprised to hear that. He did not know what had happened inside the Space Beast, including the conflict between Murong Qi and Su Mo.

“What’s this about?” Elder Murong turned to Murong Qi, his face drawing a blank.
