Chapter 865: Bai Yin’er

A look of anger flashed past her pretty face when she saw that Su Mo had ignored her.

“Humph! You won’t be able to leave this place without purchasing the identification badge from my father!” she scoffed disdainfully and said, “I can provide you with a way out. If you accept my proposal, you would be able to stay on peacefully at Great Martial City!”

“What kind of way out?” Su Mo asked coolly. He would like to see what kind of tricks this woman had up her sleeve!

“Be my personal guard and I’ll guarantee your safety!” the woman in red said.

“I’m not interested!” Su Mo shook his head impassively, then turned to walk out of the city gates.

“How dare you reject my kindness!” she shouted angrily. Then, a black long whip appeared in her hands and she struck out at Su Mo with it.

Whoosh!

Her whip ripped the air apart, giving off a shrill whistling sound.

It moved incredibly quickly, and was almost impossible to track with the naked eye as it moved like an illusion to strike Su Mo’s back.

A look of amusement flashed past her eyes. She was sure that this man’s flesh would be torn to shreds by her whip.

She was the daughter of the city governor and her name was Bai Yin’er. She was vicious and cruel, completely unlike her elegant sounding name.

She had her reasons for wanting to hire Su Mo as her personal guard.

Since the Divine Martial Country was situated in the middle of Mist Mountains, they had a huge shortage of resources and martial arts legacies were few and far between.

Outsiders not only tended to be very wealthy, they usually carried powerful martial arts legacies with them.

If Su Mo had purchased the identification badge from her father, she would not have caused trouble for him either.

Now that Su Mo was leaving without even purchasing an identification badge, she would not let him off the hook easily.

She would not ask any random person to be her personal guard either. She only did so because she noticed that he had reached Lv 9 True Darkness Realm cultivation at such a young age, which meant that he was highly talented.

If Su Mo agreed to be her personal guard, he would be at her beck and call in the future.

She had not Su Mo to be so unappreciative of the honor she had bestowed on him. Naturally, this only made her angrier.

There were many people in Great Martial City who would definitely jump at the chance to be her personal guard!

The shadow of her whip tunneled through the void shrilly, leaving no trace behind.

The crowd trembled with fear. Now that this outsider had fanned the flames of her anger, he was doomed!

Although she looked as pretty as a flower and had an elegant name to match her looks, she was vicious and cruel, and without the gentleness normally associated with women.

Just when the crowd was sure that Su Mo’s skin would be flayed open by her whip, Su Mo suddenly turned around and lifted his hand to grab at the thin air in front of him.

What?

The crowd was stunned and looked on disbelievingly at Su Mo. Could this punk be seriously attempting to use his bare hands to grab hold of Bai Yin’er’s whip?

He must be severely overestimating himself!

As a Lv 1 Martial King Realm martial artist, Bai Yin’er’s combat strength was rather extraordinary. A Lv 2 Martial King Realm martial artist might not even be able to catch her long whip, let alone this young man at only True Darkness Realm cultivation!

Did he have a death wish?

What happened next shocked them.

Bam!

The next moment, a black long whip appeared in Su Mo’s hands with a muffled bang.

The crowd was completely astonished and their eyes widened collectively as a group.

How did he do that?

How could a Lv 9 True Darkness Realm martial artist catch Bai Yin’er’s long whip with his bare hands? This was just too unbelievable!

Could this man be a peerless genius?

Could his combat strength be even more powerful than Bai Yin’er’s?

Bai Yin’er also froze in shock. Clearly, this was something she had not seen coming.

“How dare you be so domineering and arrogant when you’re so weak?” Su Mo said frostily.

“You…!” Bai Yin’er was furious and her bosom heaved violently as she became more agitated. How dare he speak to her so condescendingly? He must be tired of living!

“Damn it!” Bai Yin’er gritted her teeth and jerked at the whip.

She could not wait to attack again.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard she pulled at the whip, the whip did not move an inch.

“What’s happening?” Bai Yin’er was stunned. Her face flushed from exertion and was gradually filled with disbelief.

How was this outsider so strong when he was just of Lv 9 True Darkness Realm cultivation?

“Little girl, stop irritating me or things could get much worse than this!” Su Mo said coldly. Then, he flung her long whip aside and walked toward the gates leading out of the city.

The guards were so stunned that no one moved to stop him.

Just as Su Mo was about to step out of the city gates, Bai Yin’er shook herself out of her reverie and shouted, “Stop him!”

The guards immediately recovered from their shock and charged at Su Mo.

“Get lost!” Su Mo shouted and sent out a Qi blast with a wave of his arm. Those guards were sent flying.

“Stop him! Quickly stop him!” Bai Yin’er continued to yell.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Thousands of soldiers standing guard at the city towers descended to the ground and completely surrounded Su Mo.

Their cultivation was not that high, but their leaders were of relatively high cultivation.

At their helm was a general, a tall and large middle-aged man of Lv 5 Martial King Realm cultivation.

“General Cheng, this man has broken our laws. Please help me capture this arrogant being!” Bai Yin’er shouted, pleased to see this middle-aged general.

She knew that General Cheng would be able to take Su Mo down.

“Don”t you worry, miss. This is nothing to me!” General Chen said with a nod. He then looked at Su Mo and shouted coldly, “Young man, would you prefer to surrender quietly without a fuss, or do you want me to take you down?”

Su Mo’s expression did not change as he glanced at the general. “I’ll give you three breaths!” he said coldly.

“What do you mean?” General Cheng asked in confusion.

“I’ll give you three breaths to get lost. Don’t blame me for what will happen next!” Su Mo elaborated.

General Cheng was completely flummoxed, and then his lips started to twitch uncontrollably.

“Ha ha ha….!” He laughed heartily. “Did I hear you correctly? Do you actually think that you’ll be able to harm me?” he said scornfully between his bursts of laughter.

General Cheng laughed like this was the funniest joke in the world. How in the world was a Lv 9 True Darkness Realm martial artist ever going to take him down?

“Ha ha! This guy must be insane! How could he think of threatening General Cheng?”

“Ha ha, I bet he has a death wish!”

“Are all outsiders are foolish as him?”

The surrounding troops as well as those martial artists looking on at the spectacle started to laugh, all greatly amused by his words.

They admitted that Su Mo was stronger than Bai Yin’er, which had surprised them. However, no matter how strong he was, he could never be General Cheng’s match!

General Cheng was a high-ranking general that was in charge of guarding Great Martial City. He was extremely powerful at Lv 5 Martial King Realm.
