Chapter 3: five years and something happened

{5-year time skip}

Its been nearly 5 years since the attack of the nine-tails and 5 years since my dad died. Hey, at least my mom didn’t die, unlike some kids, but currently, my mom has been in deep depression as her dad was everything to her. Her side of the family outcast her cause the golden child wasn’t happy with her choices. You know, family drama.

So I try a lot of time to cheer her up, which works a lot, but she misses dad. She usually cries or has nightmares of that day in her sleep. 

During that time I figured out that the port I have been in for 8 months was available in my sleep as a dreamscape or my mind if you will. I could upgrade its defenses so it becomes harder for the enemy to control me or shit. But my body is the ship itself, the same rule applies but I could only upgrade it when I’m resting.

How do I get these materials? Simple, I eat high nutrient rich foods and mix it with chakra so it transforms into parts and fuel. 

These parts, in turn, can turn to ammunition, plane parts, repair and damage control parties, and rations. Why do I need rations? Idk it does it for me. Anyhow I found something fascinating when I looked to see my defense values. Interestingly, parts of my body correspond to the ship's protection.

My torso is 170 to 230mm, arms are 123 to 140mm, legs are 123 to 160mm, hands 97mm, feet 110mm, the head is 15 and 240mm, and lastly, my heart is 254mm thick. My flight deck can also be used as a shield if i put chakra at it, which is nice for close quartes combat.

Just like the game of azur lane i can summon my flight deck, this is what i will call my “rigging mode”, for simplicity. If you’re wondering how i know azur lane mechanics, collabs spiked my interest and i lost it as quick as i got it. 

It took me a while for me to summon my rigging as I didn't know what to do. But it only worked when I wanted to test my AAs on a bird that liked to be a bitch to other birds.

4 Needles, half the size of a pencil, appeared around my shoulders, head, and my rigging and shoot with impressive speed. It's reload speed is 2 seconds each and explodes near the target, the flak drains chakra from the opponent/object.

The bird was able to maneuver away from the flack after being hit and looked at me with rage. 

*"We've been detected"* *"deploying fighter planes"* the first voice was of a male and the second was female

My flight deck meanwhile flashed 4 cyan lights and a second later it turned to small biplanes. Each one took off within seconds of spawning and flew around me. The bird stopped to process what kind of chakra trick I used but dived towards me, talons open.

My planes soon detected something in my vicinity and went to intercept it. The bird dived to my head but I was able to duck before it could scratch me. It then flew up so it could go faster to me until-

x4 *Ratatatatatatat* sounds of literal mini guns shot Bullets through the bird before flying back up. Only two of the four biplanes attacked the bird while the other two circled around the now falling bird.

Needless to say, the bird is dead and my flak doesn't hurt my biplanes. I then ordered my biplanes to return to flight deck and they came in a orderly manner. They then proceeded to glow cyan and vanished, then a countdown timer appeared in the bottom of my vision. 20 seconds.

After waiting 20 seconds my biplanes reappeared with a soft glow. Just as I moved my sight towards them a menu came up, detailing its reload time depending on what they depleted.

10 seconds if biplanes only scouted for 5 minutes 

20 seconds if the defended me

So I was left wondering "how do I control these biplanes?" So I imagined myself using either controller or mouse & keyboard to start my sortie. 

[Warning: for the safety of the user’s body and mind, we cannot allow their consciousness to leave unless user/ship is ultimately destroyed completely]  

The message gave me chills for the possibility of dying and what would happen to me after both ship and body are gone. I would rather not find out so i don’t do the stupid later on but i still continued to “test” the possibility to control something, as if it saw my attempt again, the system gave me advice.

[System advice: you can control one of your secondaries as an option, greatly adding to its range and firepower but loose CQ (close quarters) capabilities. Note that you cannot select or have equip a secondary if its knocked out or completely destroyed until repairs]

The blunt kunai to my right disappeared and a pistol fazed into my right hand. The pistol didn’t look modern, it looked like one of those flintlock pistols from the 1800’s.

Important side character: one which can’t affect the plans fate has to offer to our cast, yet can affect the very way of thinking for everyone else. You can barely affect the events that will follow, unless by sheer luck, but you can change how fast the progress will go indirectly. Higher chance for side/background characters to follow you  as their leader.
