Chapter 6: Urgh, school

{Another time skip cause I'm lazy as hell}

"kane. Wake up. It's your first day in school today" a caring voice gently shaking the sleepy 7 year old

"Five more minutes mom" replied a boy with pale-ish skin, grayish hair and red ruby eyes. 

"Sweeti~e," a menacing aura oozed out from the once caring mother "You don't wanna make your mother sad, do you?"

"Yep, going to the restroom sounds fun" kane got up from his bed as fast as he blinked, ignoring the small nausea he got.

He quickly brushed his teeth, got some cleaner clothes, and went to his mom. She was at the front door of the house, waiting for him, as it is considered an accomplishment to the parent(s) having a potential Shinobi as their child. So my mother would accompany me to school so I wouldn't get lost and to see me off.

It took us 10 minutes of walking to get to the school gates and a line of parents and their kids waiting for the gates to open.

Many of the parents looked proud yet worried about something. Maybe it's the training their kids will get since we, me and the other kids, are from an average family unlike the big clans of konoha. 

Then I felt the air stiffen, then soon that air turned to pure hatred and disappointment. Even my own mother showed this level of hostility while simultaneously pulling me closer to her. The person had blond hair, blue eyes, and was probably my age as he looked childish. And he was walking towards the school gates while people called home names.

"Demon fox", "demon child", "that thing", and other names that show him as a disgrace fill the air. “Dam. This must be Naruto cause only he gets called these names for no reason” i thought with a bit of pity. At the same time he came to view the gates started to open up with some immediately rushing their kids inside.

“*Whisper* Don’t hang out with that demon-child kane” mother told me that as i know she has a grudge against the demon fox

My mother let me go inside when she was sure Naruto was far away from me. Every kid kid that was not part of a huge clan ran and avoided said kids that oozed overconfidence. My mailbox, yes i got a mailbox, rang when i crossed the gates but i didn’t want to look crazy in front like 100 people or something as opening the mail requires me to ‘touch’ it.

Teachers were telling every kid to go to the building next to the school to hear the hokage’s speech. We went inside, got ourselves seated, and I expected a great speech about, um, something. He started to talk about the will of the fire, our role in protecting konoha, and his hopes in us becoming good soldiers.

Overall speech is 4/10 cause it somehow didn’t sound right to me and it took 30 minutes but the other kids looked motivated or something… for some reason. And so we left to our respective classrooms after we were given our class number. Class 3 (couldn’t find any info about this and don’t expect me to know all about ninja life or something cause i'm not that knowledgeable about naruto. But expect tons of free write and wrong information)

During the walk there I could see the main cast of Naruto heading towards Class 1 as well as the future sasuke fanclub girls and sasuke haters. But oh well, Can’t say I’m happy that i don’t get first class, or any class seat to ‘watch’ Naruto Uzumaki. 

Getting inside the class were mainly nobodies like me, but unlike them, I’m a boat (Insert villager news villager noise). So I sat near the exit of the class as I hate school so this gives me an edge on running away.

After five or so minutes the teacher came and introduced themselves.

"My name shitoshi. nothing more nothing less. So today we need to evaluate your chakra control and your kunai throwing" a man looking around his mid to late 40’s spoke. Green vest, konoha deadband, and brown-ish hair with gray starting to settle in. guy must be in a lot of stress or can’t keep his hair intact.

The kids from the upper family looked bored and the nobodies like me are either nervous or determined. I'm part of the former.

"Well, the rest will start in 30 minutes as the first and second classes munt go first. So make friends or something" after that he sat down in his chair and pulled out a book of God knows what.

So we sat there, being useless as fuck and kids just approached each other. Then one of village kids approached me

"Hello, my name is Shurigimi shoto. What is yours" he said to me

"Oh, my name is Kobayashi Kane, nice to meet you Shoto" I replied happily

"Soooo what are your hobbies Kane? Mine are collecting Shinobi cards"

"My hobby is breathing air" I jokingly said

"That is no hobby. At least tell me even a weird or boring hobby"

"Mmm. Fine. i got a hobby of collecting random things”

 “Ah cool but also weird”

The conversion continued till the 30 minutes were up and the teacher called out

“Alright kids, It's our turn now as the other classes classes finished” the teacher said enthusiastically

We started to walk towards the practice area to see our skill, not like the big clan kids need to check, on our kunai throwing. The area looked the same as in ‘Naruto’ but a bit bigger although it barely made a difference.

“Alright i want you to show me your skills in throwing kunai to those targets but please no flashy moves,” *looks at the clan kids* “so behave” He quietly grumbled to himself the last part to himself

The show first started when the clan kids did what they weren't supposed to do. Show off their rich asses. Since every kid got five kunai, the clan kids were able to mostly hit 4 out of 5 kunai. The nobodies hit, if lucky, 1 kunai but there was the outlier with 2~3 hit.

Me? I missed all of them since I practiced guns, not kunai. I really wanted to summon my spotter squadron but i cant use any “jutsu” to increase my likeness to hit but my skill which is trash so no luck there. Also i had to temporarily turn off my secondaries since other kids now consider me a weakling since i couldn't hit the target “Like you could as well”  ware my thoughts to most of them.
