That was a wishful thinking. 

Their father— Kischar von Ashburn, is a powerful 3-Star Champion, one of the strongest fighters and best generals in the kingdom.

He absolutely forbid infighting and killing within family and would severely punish those who break the rule.

Not to mention Loid possessed a skill known as “Goddess’s Blessings”, which very much guarantees his life, and even allowing him to turn misfortune into opportunities.

And there is also something hidden inside Loid that would awaken if ever he was in danger.

Siegfried would die before he even killed Loid.

Of course he can try assassination, but seriously he doesn’t want to take risk. And instead of raising death flags by trying to kill the chosen one, isn’t better to leave him alone?

Siegfried would do his own thing and Loid would do his.

“I should just stay away from the plot altogether.” He thought, or rather be a power in the shadows, he was experienced in that area.

He can hide in the dark and make sure to help the hero develop into a strong man that can fight against the final boss in the game …Not!

Why the fuck should he babysit someone like the protagonist?! They have plot-armor! It should be them who babysits him.

In his past life, though he is a mafia boss, but his power and influence was pitiful. In this new life, he will strive to hold the world on the palm of his hand.

What Siegfried in the game failed to do, he will succeed!

“Y-Young master,” a knock was heard followed by a timid female voice.

Siegfried snapped out of his thoughts and turned towards the door, “Come in.”

The door opens and a beautiful woman carrying a tray of food walks in.

The maid was staring at Siegfried with fear, and was forcing herself to not tremble and remain calm.

She usually wasn’t this …timid. She was more composed and mature, unfortunately Siegfried just gives her that much fear ever since the day she was sexually assaulted by him and lost her chastity.

Siegfried looked at the food, a soup with meat, bread, and fish. So medieval-like.

“Feed me.”

“Y-Yes.”

The maid placed the food on the table at the side and brought it in front of him. She took the spoon and began feeding him, starting with the soup.

‘The taste is okay…but could be better.’

“Your name?” Asked Siegfried.

“S-Sonia, young master.”

“Sonia …come to my room tonight.”

“…U-Understood.”

For now, Siegfried opted to enjoy his food before he starts making plans.

In a certain room within the mansion of Ashburn Household, a handsome middle aged man with blonde hair was sitting on a chair in front of a desk while signing some documents.

He is Kischar von Ashburn, head of the house of Ashburn, a 3-star Champion and one of the best generals in the Kingdom.

He was valued by the current king due to his skills and tactical mind. Kischar brought victory after victory to the kingdom, completely dominating the continent and making their kingdom the undisputed strongest kingdom—military wise.

“Is this true?” He asked the butler in front of him.

Said butler is an old man in his fifties with white hair, “I have investigated it milord. And I can confirm that the girl wasn’t sexually nor physically involved with the young lord. Someone must’ve been targeting him.”

“Nothing new there.” Kischar sighed in relief. At least, his son wasn’t someone who can abandon even his own blood.

He can tolerate Siegfried being a man who lives a life of debauchery, but he will never forgive him if he ever abandon or even killed someone of their own blood.

Even Kischar was once a playboy, but he brought back his sons and daughters who he had during his one night stands with some ladies and took care of them.

After all, for him, family are the only people you can trust.

“Well, we can use this as an excuse to take his position as the heir and send him to Babylonia Royal Academy for protection. The assassins and assassination have been frequent lately, it seems like the other families could no longer wait.” Said Kischar with a smile.

The Ashburn Family has offended many families to their to power, they have also received the favor of the king and has become a threat to other nobles.

There are also countless enemies outside the kingdom who suffered at their hands and is only waiting for them to show a sign of weakness before attacking.

“But …is it really okay to do this milord?” Asked the butler, feeling a little worried.

Siegfried might throw a tantrum if he heard that his position will be taken and he will be sent to the capital to study —which he will surely think of as confinement.

“I raised no idiots.” Said Kischar, “Due to his infamy, people often forget that Siegfried took the Noble Tests and became one of the only six people to have achieved a perfect score. He will understand why this is necessary.”

“Right.” Even the butler forgot about that. Siegfried was well versed in math, history, singing, dancing, piano, poetry, noble etiquette, politics, military strategies, and economics.

Not to mention Siegfried was also a talented warrior, being able to reach the level of a 1-star Knight at his young age 18, and also possessed a strong Unique Skill.

He trained under the hands of a very strong master, a friend of Kischar who is a 4-star Champion.

However, Siegfried’s achievements in those areas were often ignored or forgotten due to how bad his reputation was.

If someone were to hear his name, they would immediately imagine a devil.

“So who will be the next heir, milord? If it’s alright to ask.”

“It’s Loid. He is currently the oldest among my sons aside from Sieg, he’s the next best candidate.”

“Young master Loid?” The butler couldn’t help but stare at Kischar in confusion. Loid is an illegitimate child of Kischar, born from a drunken night in a pub.

His mother died giving birth to him, and when Kischar found Loid, he immediately brought him back.

Aside from being weak, Loid was indeed the perfect candidate. Unfortunately, he’s an illegitimate child. 

Making him the heir will greatly impact the reputation of their household —and not in a good way.

“What about Princess Cynthia?” Asked the butler.

Princess Cynthia, or Cynthia E. Aliandell, the third princess of Aliandell Kingdom and fiancée of Siegfried.

The marriage between the two was decided by Kischar and the king to strengthen the ties between the royal family and their household.

With Siegfried losing his position, the marriage would no longer be valid. After all, noble children who weren’t heirs could only become an ordinary merchant, or a manager of a territory belonging to their house.

There are also situations where those noble children would directly buy a land and build their own settlement and become a new noble house of their own. Of course, such thing was rare because of how difficult it was.

Not to mention the money required, there are still a lot more requirements needed to be noble.

So once a person loses their inheritance, they would have little to do with their household. 

Because of this, the marriage between the two would be meaningless.

“It will be …called off.” Kischar sighed, “Or rather, she will be engaged to Loid. If it was back in the past I wouldn’t chosen this, but their current relationship is just …yeah.”

Alfred thought of the cold war between Cynthia and Siegfried and nodded, “I see.”

“Now. Please call Sieg in my office, I wanted to talk to him about this.”

“As you wished, milord.”
