Longevity noodles, something that I never had in my 1st life but had a few times in my 2nd life. I turned to remove the moisture from my eyes.

Now, time to get ready for my 2nd day back!

“Grandma Li, I need you to come to school at lunch time… No, I have a lunch appointment today, let's say after school ends instead so we can buy beds and extra linen” my ring is a good delivery truck.

“I need you to go out to eat for lunch then use the time until we meet to buy clothes, shoes and whatever you and the boys need… Ah non you will be over packed let’s do that after school” I changed my mind again. I was talking while changing.

Da*mn, today would be as crazy as yesterday… By the time I was ready for school - including putting my bed back into the ring at the amazement of both boys again - I had 30 minutes to spare so I decided to do one extra thing before leaving. I took out the spiritual root and energy tester

“OK, first let’s check you out. Grandma Li please put your hand on the tester to check your abilities”

“Great! you have water, earth and gold abilities. level 4 Qi condensation”

“Li Yao your turn….Wow dual spiritual root of fire and metal. level 3 Qi condensation. with these roots you could be a martial artist or a refiner or both” Li Yao eyes brightened

“Really master Bai!”

“Let's talk about it another day. Do you have a cultivation technique yet? Which one did you use to reach level 3?”

“I have the cultivation technique that Huo city’s school gives to everyone. Wait let me bring it” he answered while running to his bag then came back with a worn out book. It took less than 5 sec. With his energy I can see him as a martial artist

After taking a look at the book I answered “The book is the same as what AnNan school gives. Still this is the best cultivation technique for those below level 9, you should continue using it…now Li Bo your turn”

Li Bo was apprehensive and was hesitating touching the tester

“Don’t worry Bo-er the result does not matter” Li Yao truly knew his little brother

“Let’s see, Li Bo you are… single fire spiritual root. First level of Qi condensation. That is amazing. any sect would take you in a heartbeat as soon as you reach the 3rd level” Yep, with this root I could confirm that is the Li Bo I met in my 1st life. Not many cultivators had a single spiritual root at birth

“I don’t want to” replied Li Bo softly

“What?” I said

“I don’t want to leave grandma and Yao-er. I don’t want to go to a sect” he said with a louder voice. Family before cultivation how many could choose the same even at his age?

“Don’t worry Li Bo, I will never force you to go anywhere you don’t want to. If in the future your big brother decides to go to a sect, you could easily join him with your spiritual abilities but you have to at least reach level 3. So why not work hard to increase your cultivation?”

Li Bo looked at me then at his brother then at me “OK I will work hard to reach at least level 3”

Li Yao pointed his thumbs up behind his brother’s back to thank me.

I still had 10 minutes or so. I planned to leave early but not before I made sure that the trio understood that they were my servants and could not be ordered around or beaten by others. They just had to tell anyone that if they were to touch them, they would have to deal with BAI F*CKING YUSHIN. I left them some silver taels for their lunch and a token to get in and out the building. They still followed me until the exit door. In there, I met my cousins including the she-wolf one and my dear aunt.

“Little Bai, good morning. I am sorry but I had to fire nanny Wei and it will take a few days to replace her. I hope you can be patient” said my dear aunt

“You should have fired her long ago. Anyway, no need to find me a replacement, I already hired my own servants. Just make sure to let the others know that they cannot be bossed around and the Yu family punishment rules do not apply to them. I will take care of them accordingly if they make mistakes.”

Aunt Liu took a quick look at my trio then gave me a fake benevolent smile  “I see you have already grown up but as per Yu family rules, all servants entering the household need to be approved by me. Alas, I cannot accept non-citizen of AnNan city. We do not know their past and where they came from so they need to leave immediately”

I got her now. Inward evil smile

“It seems I know the family rules better than you who manages the household, dear aunt. The rules stipulate that servants bought by any guest can be accepted for as long as the guest is welcomed here. As for family members, they have a month to get the servant approved and they have to leave only if rejected by the household manager after that time”

Aunt's smile disappeared

“So pick, dear aunt. Am I a guest or a family member? remember that either way MY servants are allowed to stay for at least a month”

“One last thing” I said before leaving. “I hired them from the city’s emergency shelter using the information desk so you rejecting them only because they are Huo’s city refugees not only goes against the city’s lord wishes but also his wife’s hard work”

I enjoyed the ugly face my dear aunt was showing for 5 sec before going inside the carriage and urging the coachman to leave. No need to say goodbye and I don’t want to be late meeting my former master

As per the demeanor of the lady in the information desk yesterday, there was a big chance that she was the city lord’s wife. After the demise of Huo city, she worked hard to help the refugees. She knew all the names of the one in the shelter including the kids. She knew their skills and past and wanted to find them a new home, a job and hope

She worked hard to create jobs for them and persuaded a lot of rich families to take them as servants instead of going to other cities to find new ones. With the city lord’s famous love for his wife, no one wanted to be found discriminating against the sheltered refugees, especially not an average family like the Yu’s. My 2nd aunt was eying my dear aunt's household power. She and my grandmother would surely hear about this altercation soon. If I was lucky, my other uncles and grandfather would know too.

Between the disregard of the family rule, a chance to be on the bad side of the city lord and the fact that a 10 year old trampled the family’s current household head appointed by my grandmother. Not sure how long my dear aunt could keep her powers.

With all this, I even helped them with the guest vs family suggestion. Hope they will remember it in a month and use it to expel me from their house earlier.

It was early in the morning and my mind was already in paste. I used all my brain cells and experience to come up with this retort. The historical drama/books and movies my mother and sister forced me to read and watch were not wasted on me

Best birthday ever!
