After leaving the inn, Sian and Ophilia went for a walk around the town to gather information.

Both went first to the merchant caravan camp, and with how well dressed they were, it was not difficult for them to enter the camp.

After some speculation, they quickly discovered that many relatively wealthier merchants move on to the next town without selling or buying anything, just to get a good room to sleep or have a good meal.

Some even have the thought of opening an inn or other types of business around the town, since it has a lot of potential to be harnessed and developed, especially the vast fertile lands around and the proximity to the border of 3 kingdoms, which generates a huge flow of people.

But the benefit of being close to the border is also the reason for the merchants not to proceed with the plans. The reason for this is simple, the skirmishes that often happen between the kingdoms, more specifically between Poutis and Edrorian.

With these skirmishes, the risk of losing everything that they have from day to night is great, after all, this has happened several times before, so they are satisfied just selling what they can and then move on.

With the information obtained, they discovered that almost all merchants would be willing to pay for a room and meal, since being always camping outdoors was a nuisance for them, the only condition was that it was not excessively expensive.

As some merchants traded slaves, they wanted to have a place to put them to stay overnight, after all, if they caught a cold or any other disease, it would only bring losses to the merchant.

After leaving the merchants' camp, they went to where the mercenaries' camps were, which were divided into a few groups, usually from 15 to 40 members per group.

As the war was near, they were probably here to make money.

It was also not difficult to get in contact with them, but unlike the merchants, they had no problem camping outdoors and eating smoked food.

Only a few were willing to spend to rent a shared room in an inn. But when it came to drinking, repairing and buying equipment, they were apparently willing to spend a reasonable amount.

Next, they went in search of the magic beast hunters, or as they are popularly known, monster hunters. They usually come here to sell the materials obtained from the monsters to the merchants.

Unlike normal hunters, they avoid solitary hunting or with only 2 people. Generally they form small groups to make the hunt safer, since you never know when a group of goblins can pop up out of nowhere.

After talking a little with them, the result obtained was not very different from what they got with the mercenaries.

Finally, it lacked to obtain information from ordinary people, but the result wasn't that satisfactory. As this was a small town, the residents didn't have much money to spend and sometimes they even use the barter.

"Finally we finished, and it's almost half a day, let's go back to the inn." Sian said.

When Sian thought he was done with his research, Ophilia reminded him, "The nobles are still missing, even though the only noble resident in the city is the mayor."

"Ohh, right, I had forgotten them, but we don't need to go on, all the nobles have money to spend, and also, they probably come here rarely, and those who came recently, it's because of the war.” Sian said.

After getting the information they needed, they returned to the inn and were received directly by the manager, who took them to a table that contained a sumptuous meal, worthy of being called a noble's meal.

Finishing the lunch, Sian met the manager again and took the opportunity to clear up some doubts he had.

"Is it possible to buy some land with the mayor or do I need to talk to someone in a bigger position?"

“As we are close to the border, the land is cheap and there are not many bureaucracies, if you talk to the mayor, you can buy land immediately.”The manager responded amicably.

"Is there a limit to how much I can buy?"

“Not that I know of, you can probably buy as much as you want, or rather, as long as you have money. But I must remind you to be careful, because if this city is conquered and the kingdom of Poutis regains it, they will not return the land to the former owner.

So I advise you to wait for this coming war to end, so as not to risk losing everything.” The manager said.

"Thanks for the information, I will keep your advice in mind." Sian said.

"Don’t mention it, if you need anything, just look for me." The manager said.

After saying goodbye to the manager, Sian and Ophilia went to the bedroom.

"How are you feeling? Spending the morning walking must have been exhausting for you.” Sian said.

"Although I got a little tired, there is no need to worry, I still have a lot of energy to spend." Ophilia replied.

After entering the room and throwing himself on the bed, Sian said, "Let's rest for a while and then go to the mayor's house."

Taking a long sigh, he said, "it's a shame that there isn't a bathtub in the bathroom, it would be very relaxing to take a bath after walking so long in the sun."

"I think even in a noble's house it's hard to have a bathroom with a bathtub and you're talking so casually about relaxing in the bathtub." Ophilia said while sighing.

"Having a bathroom with a bathtub is not a big deal, when I have bought land, I will build one, I am sure you will like it." He said.

"Usually I clean myself with a wet towel to get the dirt off, the closest thing to a bathtub bath I had was in the river."  She said.

"Although it is not the same thing, it is also good." Sian took off his clothes, just wearing his underwear while he showed his well defined body of 1.77 cm and said, "Let's get some sleep."

Ophilia looked surprised when she said, "Sleep at this time of day?"

"Yes, as we still have a lot of free time, we can sleep before going to the mayor's house."

“But-”

“You don't have to think so much, just lie down and sleep, you don't have to pretend, I know you're tired after we went to sleep so late yesterday.”

Saying that, he took her bag out of the magic bag and handed it over.

"Thank you." Ophilia said.

"Don't worry about it, just change your clothes for something lighter and sleep."

After changing to a sleepwear, Ophilia lay down next to Sian, but contrary to what he expected, she hugged him and gave a passionate kiss. Resisting the temptation he said, “Even though I'm tempted, we can leave it for the night, now you need to rest.”

'To refuse the advances of a beautiful woman like that, I must be crazy.'

He hugged her and said gently, “I guess I know why you're trying so hard. Being sold to a stranger like that out of nowhere and getting away from everyone you know may be putting pressure on you, but don't worry, I won't hurt you.”

He stroked her head and continued, “As I said before, I like you, or rather, I love you. Probably... I'm really not so sure, I've never felt this way before, but I promise to take good care of you, you don't have to worry so much about any little thing, you can even be a little more selfish.”

Hearing his words, Ophilia remained silent and just stared at him, looking deeply into his light brown eyes.

“We will postpone this conversation until later, now you need to rest, understand?” Sian said looking into her eyes.

Ophilia just nodded and buried her head in Sian's chest.

Before long, she had fallen asleep.

‘It seems that she was very tired, but despite that, she didn’t say anything...’

‘Hmmm… Stopping to think, being a slave, it’s practically impossible for her to complain to the master... Meeting her made my head a mess.’

‘But that smell she has is really pleasant, it made me want to hug her even more.’

'I think this is the same smell that I smelled last night.'

‘But somehow, it gives a different feeling than before, I feel as if it calms me, relieves me and comforts me...  This feeling is so incredible...’

‘I can't remember the last time I felt this way...‘

*Sigh~~~*

‘I think I better rest too.’

Sian soon fell asleep hugging Ophilia, and so they spent more than half the afternoon, until Sian finally woke up.

Seeing that Ophilia was still asleep, he thought it best to let her continue to rest and go to the mayor's house alone. Then, he got up, tidied up his short curly black hair that was messy, put on his clothes and when he was about to leave, a sleepy voice called out to him.

"Wait! I'll go with you."

“If you want, you can wait here and rest a little longer, I'll be back soon. ” Sian said.

"I'm already much better, this break was enough for me to rest, thank you." She said with a bright smile.

She quickly got dressed and they prepared to go to the mayor's mansion.
