Chapter 34 – Student Council Debut
At Urushibara-san’s request, I was asked to assist the student council.
When I was first asked for help, I thought it would be terrifying to help the student council, but then again, I too am a boy of age. I’m vulnerable to requests from people of the opposite s*x that I’m interested in.
Urushibara-san seems to have bought me and said, “The current student council needs you, Moriyama-kun”.
She also said, “I want to be on the student council with Moriyama-kun!”
I was surprised and happy at the same time that she trusted me so much.
When a high school boy is told something like this by a classmate he’s interested in, it’s natural to be happy.
When I was told this much, the option of refusing disappeared, no matter how much I pretend to be a loner(according to Urushibara-san).
Besides, I’m genuinely happy to spend more time with Urushibara-san.
But I still have some concerns.
It’s the eyes of others.
“Eh? Why is Mobyama in the student council?”
“I heard that Urushibara-san scouted him somehow.”
“Just because of that? What is Urushibara-san’s deal with Mobyama?”
“He’s only Mobyama, but he got cheeky and took advantage of Urushibara-san.”
“I’m sure Urushibara-san is being deceived.”
“What kind of dirty tricks did that Mobyama use to trick Urushibara-san?”
This must be the kind of conversation that would go on in class.
The result would be a crusade for me.
I can see it.
The spectacle of the trial to condemn me…
I knew it, I acted rashly…
But I’ve already had a meeting with the student council advisor, and I don’t know if I can back out now.
“Moriyama-kun, what’s wrong? You don’t look good.”
Oops, I was so absorbed in my thoughts that my hands had stopped to eat Urushibara-san’s homemade lunchbox.
“No, it’s fine. By the way, today’s lunch is also excellent. I didn’t expect red rice for lunch.”
“Ufufu. After all, today is Moriyama-kun’s student council debut! It’s a boost!”
“Ugh, my stomach is suddenly…”
“EH!? Are you okay!?”
“I hate myself for my tofu mentality…”
“Do you want to stop with the student council thing, after all?”
When Urushibara-san said this, she looked as if she was really worried about me.
Pathetic…
I’ve been running away for the past three years, but I don’t want to run away in front of Urushibara-san.
That’s right, I’m scared because I have a negative image of the student council.
Let’s think positive.
“Urushibara-san, if I make it through the student council meeting safely, let’s go home together.”

I said something that sounded like a death flag.
“Ufufu, of course! I scouted you for… Well, it’s a secret.”
“What? What is it? What did you say?”
“It’s a secret! I won’t tell you!”
“When you put it like that, it makes me wonder even more, you know?”
“Mmm, mou~! If I say it’s a secret then it’s a secret! Rather than that, please say ‘ahhh’!”
“Ahhh.”
“Ei!”
Urushibara-san, sitting beside me on the usual emergency stairwell, threw a fried fish into my mouth from close range.
Munch, munch, gulp.
“The fried fish is also excellent. The curry flavor works well. Did you add the flavor after frying?”
“Yes! Before frying, the flavor of the curry will be lost and it will taste burnt. As expected of Moriyama-kun, you can tell with just one bite!”
I had a chat with Urushibara-san and before I knew it, the stomachache had subsided.
Urushibara-san is a real saint in this world, and her healing effect is unparalleled.
She’s on a totally different level from me who’s just a loner.
◇◆◇
After school that day, I went to the student council room with Urushibara-san.
I suggested that we meet there, but it was immediately rejected, and here we are, walking down the corridor together.
I was very concerned about the way people looked at us, so I pretended to be “a student who misbehaved and was taken to the student guidance office” and went to the student council room, appealing that I was not on intimate terms with Urushibara-san.
I managed to get to the student council room without any incident.
Hu~… Ha~…
Hu~… Ha~…
I breathed steadily to control my tension.
The Lamaze method is a breathing method used during childbirth, but it is also effective for reducing tension (self-examination).
Urushibara-san knocked, opened the door, said “Good evening” before entering.
After that, I said, “Excuse me,” and followed inside.
The room was about half the size of a classroom, with several long tables, each with a private chair, and a large number of files, documents and laptops on the tables.
Urushibara-san introduced me.
“This is Moriyama-kun from my class. He will be helping us from today.”
“H-Hello, I’m Moriyama. I’m just a classmate of U-Urushibara-san’s, and w-we’re not particularly close. I-I-I’m innocent.”
As I was biting and pleading my innocence, Urushibara-san, standing beside me, elbowed me on the side.
“GUO!? U-Urushibara-san… That was quite painful!”
“Moriyama-kun is a little difficult to talk to, but he’s a very competent person, so I’d like to ask for your support.”
“っていうか、森山先輩じゃないっすか!厨ニ病はもうイイんすか?”
“Eh, aren’t you Moriyama-senpai!? Are you done with your chuuni syndrome?”
Hmm!?
