Unsurprisingly, Chu Yanling got black eyes from his shizun. There was this one thing Chu Yanling overlooked when he clung onto his shizun's leg. This act of his was an act of disrespect to his shizun. As a result, he was beaten black and blue. Even then, he didn't mind his shizun hitting the back of his head since he couldn't care less about such a small injury.

In his younger years, Chu Yanling was a troublemaker in his sect and his shizun often got mad at him. Even then, he cared for his Shizun dearly. He was brought up and raised by Shizun himself. Chu Yanling even considered his Shizun as his father figure.

After seeing his master's dismembered corpse with his own eyes, he immediately broke down and he, who hadn't shed tears ever since he traversed Jianghu for so many years, cried over his master's lifeless body.

And now, he was kneeling in front of  that domineering master of his, with his head lowered. It felt surreal. Thinking about it now, he wanted to cry again.

Chu Yanling first thought that this was the afterlife and that all his friends and masters were all here. However, if this was the afterlife, his shizun couldn't be scolding him for skipping martial arts classes and he shouldn't be this... small and short. He hadn't even lost his baby fat yet!

There was a doubt in his heart but nothing could seem more plausible than the fact that he was reborn. However, he couldn't so sure now either.

Right now, he didn't dare lift his head. He was always powerless when it came to his master. Not to mention that he was currently an ordinary disciple of his sect, not the previously 'Righteous Dragon'. At that moment, his master suddenly let out a huff and said, "Chu Yanling, do you know what you did wrong to this master?"

Chu Yanlind briefly nodded, "This disciple knows his mistakes."

Glancing upwards, Chu Yanling could see how his shizun seemed to want to say something, but before he could, someone broke into room. It was a person with the same hair crown and robes as him, slightly older than himself and skin a bit tanned. This person immediately saluted to his shizun, completely ignoring Chu Yanling who was kneeling in front of him.

"This disciple greets shizun! Shizun, the sect leader is here to meet you."

Although this person was quite different from what he remembered, Chu Yanling recognized this voice. It was surprisingly his eldest shixiongsenior brother!

In his (supposedly) past life, Chu Yanling never met his shixiong before he became a second-rate warrior. And by then, his shixiong had become the head disciple and the successor of the sect leader. His shixiong was a lot slender and his skin had become much whiter at that time.

Was it because he rarely went outside anymore?

Seeing his other disciple, his master let out a 'hmph' and said with a cold tone, "Tell him to wait."

Chu Yanling silently thought to himself, 'As expected of Shizun! He even treats the sect leader coldly!'

Originally, his Shizun was supposedly to be the sect leader because of his excellent martial arts prowess, however he directly refused, saying that he had no qualifications to being the sect leader. In the end, the sect leader's seat fell on his junior brother's hands. This was also why the sect leader was so respectful while dealing with his master.

With that, his eldest shixiong saluted Shizun and left.

Once his master took off his sight from his shixiong, Chu Yanling instantly lowered his head once more. His master suddenly got closer to him and crouched down.

He lightly Karate-chopped the back of Chu Yanling's head.

"So... You've been staring at this master so intently, looking like you have something to say. Speak."

Chu Yanling flinched. His Shizun noticed? Ah... Maybe he wasn't so subtle with his actions earlier. Raising his head, Chu Yanling met with his master's eyes and became even more hesitant.

"Umm, shizun, how old is this disciple?"

Chu Yanling thought, since his shixiong was still tanned, he was surely not over 20 years old. And this means that he might not even learn neigongqi cultivation yet!

Although he was not sure whether or not he had gone back to the past, he still needed to make sure.

"Why are you asking me that? Aren't you supposed to be the one to know it best? Or are you perhaps testing me?"

"Definitely not!," Chu Yanling denied. How could he dare testing his Shizun? No way.

His master raised an eyebrow as he asked Chu Yanling suspiciously, "Then?"

"I just... I just want to hear it from shizun," Chu Yanling answered smoothly. His master only sighed, "You're sixteen this year, happy?"

Nodding, Chu Yanling secretly gave thumbs up to himself. However, he also had conflicted feelings. If what his master said was true, that meant that he hadn't learned neigong yet. That also meant that all his effort of building up his qi in his dantian all those years... Was gone. But this was also a good thing for him.

He could start over.

Even if he had to start all over again, wasting time to do what he had previously achieved, Chu Yanling could make things better than his previous life.

"Shizun, I'm already sixteen and isn't it about time I learn neigong?"

He could just learn neigong if he want but then, it was against the sect's rules. At least, he wanted the acknowledgement of his master then he could proceed to build up his dantian like normal martial artists.

With that, his master suddenly had a fierce look as he smacked Chu Yanling's head, making his forehead crash to the ground.

"Brat!"

"Kugh--!"

"Don't even think of learning neigong anytime soon!"

Hearing his shizun's words, Chu Yanling covered his bruised forehead with one hand and raised his head.

"B-but, but why-!?"

"Do you already forget that you haven't finished your classes yet?! If this goes on, learning neigong will only be a far-fetched dream for you!"

Chu Yanling was speechless.

That's it? That's the only reason?

Finishing the classes were easy but it took too long! Chu Yanling didn't want to waste his time learning something he had already mastered like the back of his own hands.

"Then Shizun, except for that, what can I do to make you acknowledge me?"

"You-! You don't want to attend classes?"

Chu Yanling shook his head. There was a determination in his eyes that even made his Shizun waver a little. In the end, he sighed in defeat.

"Next month, come to my house and I'll give you a test. Once you pass, I'll let you learn the neigong you want so much. You better study hard."

Chu Yanling's eyes lit up and he was smiling from ear to ear, "This disciple thanks his Shizun!"

His master just waved his hand implying for him to leave.

"Yes, yes. You can go."

Chu Yanling saluted energetically.

"Yes, Shizun!"

When he walked, Chu Yanling felt like he was flying. Everyone who saw him all wondered why he was so happy. Chu Yanling didn't care and just rushed to the book storage of his sect.

As a disciple of Qingcheng Sect, what is the most important thing to learn?

Arrays!
