Although I was his wife, Kylian saved Lilith first. This alone was enough to imply a much deeper meaning. When he was faced with the choice between me or Lilith when both of us had been kidnapped, he went to rescue Lilith first. It was proof that he loved Lilith enough that he left me, his wife, in the face of danger to save her first.

Of course, there were other reasons besides that. We didn’t exactly have a normal wedding.

He hated me so much that the day before the wedding, he locked himself in his room so I couldn’t get in, and so I left eventually. Besides, even though there were a lot of things to prepare on the eve of the wedding, he came in late because he was spending time with Lilith.

So, it was a pity. He fell in love with the person he was destined to be with, and yet he still had to marry me. I gave him as much consideration as I could.

“I heard that we don’t have to kiss during the wedding.”

“What are you talking about?”

It was difficult enough that he was marrying someone he didn’t even love, what more when he had to kiss in front of his lover at this wedding.

Since he was like my life’s benefactor, I couldn’t do that to him.

Besides, I also liked Lilith. As it was in the original story, Lilith was a very kind and friendly person. She always followed me like I was her real older sister.

“I asked Father in advance. I don’t want to look like a clown in front of people.”

“So do you think doing the wedding kiss makes you look like a clown?”

“Ah…”

Maybe that analogy was a bit misleading, he was very offended. Maybe not a clown, but a paper doll or a wooden doll… I felt like I should have compared it to something like this.

“Do you want to kiss in front of people?”

Kylian’s eyes glinted in gold. Brilliant yellow, as if made by melting pure gold. Sometimes it seemed like his gaze contained the sun, but somehow, at that time during our conversation, it felt so cold, as if the gold had been submerged in water rather than warm sunlight.

“Anais, you and I…”

“I know, you hate me. But hang in there. The day will come when you will live happily with your destined person.”

I couldn’t remember what expression he made when we entered the ceremony holding hands.

“I decide who my destiny is.”

I can only remember the childish words he said.

We walked in together, a very rare occasion, and he didn’t even look at my face properly throughout the ceremony.

I noticed how he often glanced at Lilith, and perhaps because of that, my heart was pounding.

Stupid me, I kept waiting and staring at him until his eyes would return to me, wondering if he would look at Lilith and look at me. In the end, it never went in my direction.

That’s a good thing.

“If it’s you, Would you like to go?”

“Yes. Is that a reason?”

“Besides that. I have blue hair.”

“Is the blue-hair a big deal?”

Blue hair was not common in the Empire. No, in all races, blue hair appears only in one race. It’s long since extinct, a mermaid. Therefore, blue hair was only a symbol of ominousness.

“I have to be a brunette!”

“Then I will change it. What else should I change?”

Maybe it was because I got persistent, so Lewarren started to be persistent too. However, with this, I was at a loss for words.

“Then you change yours to blue too.”

“Good. Then if I change it to blue, will you go to the Emperor?”

“…….”

“As expected, hair color doesn’t matter.”

I couldn’t even tell Lewarren about our relationship. Besides, not only did I not have a normal wedding with Kylian, but we never did my marital duties, even during the night when we shared a room, we never did anything.

Of course Lilith knew about this.

It was sad that Kylian didn’t like me, but I knew Lilith must have been worried because he couldn’t sleep at night.

“What is all this?”

“Pillow. I have a bad habit of sleeping. You’d hate it if you ever touch me.”

Pillows were lined up across the bed in case he didn’t like it.

“What the hell is this….”

“Still, it would be better for us to share the same room as a married couple. I told Lilith everything, so you don’t have to worry.”

I really did my best to protect them both.

But Kylian started to hate me more and more, and he even started acting strangely grumpy.

“What’s this!”

“You couldn’t sleep, so I did this.”

“No, just what kind of train of thought…!”

“I have an urgent meeting, so I’ll get going.”

What the hell was that. While I slept, my hair turned into long, separate braids, and then he just left like that. How many hours did it take for him to do that?

No, even thinking about it now, how much effort did he put in to braid it, but why did he do that for?

Ah, he hated me so much, so he did that. I shouldn’t have thought about it deeper.

“If I go now, will Lilith die too?”

“…….”

“You really want that?”

“…….”

“He hated me so much that he will resurrect me as a zombie to get revenge, so would Lilith be okay? Aren’t you worried about how crazy Kylian will be if his dead ex-wife entered the body of the woman he likes?”

It was strangely difficult to breathe. The tears in my eyes were hot because I was angry. Lewarren was caught by surprise and then turned his head. So I knew I was crying uncontrollably.

How can I do this with someone else’s body?

“And I did all I could!”

“…….”

“Why didn’t you call me in my body! Then to feel like this….”

“At first, I tried with your body.”

My vision was blurry and then cleared, and I got embarrassed. I clenched my fists and looked up, and Lewarren had pulled out a handkerchief with a bewildered look and handed it to me. I took it and wiped my face lightly.

“It was impossible with your body. That’s why I chose Lilith.”

“Why couldn’t you do it with someone else’s body?”

“Because the danger of possession is too great. One person must be completely asleep. No one knows what the side effects will be. So, the only people who came out to sacrifice were me and Lilith.”

“…….”

At those words, I had to close my mouth.

“He is threatening even the temple now.”

“…….”

“As you might have noticed, this is not a temple in the capital city.”

High Priest Lewarren hated going out of the capital. Although he possessed enormous divine power, he did not like it very much unless he had a splendid life in the capital, perhaps because of his past when he lived as a petty thief.

He often followed Kylian to the outskirts to subdue monsters and barely went out. Other than that, he was a person who wouldn’t go out even if you gave him a million dollars.

“Did you sneak out to summon me?”

“No. That crazy man has turned all priests and temples into enemies to empower the Priests of Death. Not only the Roseraine Temple but also the Julias Temple were all destroyed.”

“And you just watched?”

“And I just watched? We did our best too. But most of the paladins were also dead. All that’s left are the temples that were hidden on the outskirts.”

“Then why wouldn’t I die even if I go with you?”

“Me and Lilith are the exceptions.”

My head got dizzy at the sudden information. Besides, the information was unbelievably great.

“If you come back to life, he will find Lilith and me.”

“Oh my God.”

“Can you understand the situation now?”

I clasped the robe that didn’t suit me. Even after I ate, I felt like I was going to be hungry again because I was scared.

“Can… Can I go ahead and beg him? That I’m sorry for being shot instead?”

“…….”

“Then can we come back?”

“…Yes.”

I don’t think so? If it’s going to be resolved by saying sorry, shouldn’t it have been resolved right away?

I couldn’t believe Lewarren, so I stared at him.

“But, how long can I stay in this body?”

“I don’t know.”

“What?”

“That’s why we need you to hurry up.”

It was the first time that Lewarren had acted without measures, so I was surprised. Even when he was a petty thief, he was the type of person who was prepared for several moves ahead.

“Lewarren.”

“Yeah.”

“I’m saying this because I’m really worried.”

“…….”

“Do I have to keep my blue hair?”

“…Yes.”

“For goodness sake.”

Seeing the blue hair running down my shoulder seemed to keep me on my toes. I want to go back to my original, coveted platinum hair. Still, the purple eyes that I think are the prettiest of Lilith’s body are the same.

“Instead, change yourself too.”

“…I will.”

“But can’t this be covered with magic?”

“If someone superior to God comes and changes it, it might change.”

“It’s not going to happen.”

“Yes.”

I hate to see Kylian again. But looking back, wouldn’t it be possible to finish this life well and leave? Because I sacrificed myself anyway.

And why was Kylian looking for the past me? I really thought Kylian would be happy.

Yes, he was such a proud person, so maybe he felt ashamed that someone like me died instead of him.

But the feeling of shame didn’t go away.

“My hair color is completely pure blue, so you can do it with sky blue.”

“…….”

“You don’t like it?”

“I didn’t say I don’t like it.”

“Yeah, you feel it too. How embarrassing and bright this color is!”

His pitiful face was familiarly welcome.

It felt like he was being beaten after doing such a good job, so I couldn’t stand the desire to be mean to him.

“Then when are we leaving?”

“Tomorrow.”

“Fine.”

It was fortunate that I had a fight with him in front of the door. It was enough for me to enter the room, but it was Lewarren who caught the priests’ attention.

And when he said that he was going to go, I was curious.

I was going to ask how much time had passed.

Still, it must have been quite some time, and I was curious about how Kylian had changed.

“And no doubt he will kill his fateful opponent.”

After thinking so easily, I fell asleep without taking off my clothes properly.

It seemed like a dream, but somehow it was strange.

“…You’re awake!”

My whole body ached as if I had been beaten, but my mind was hazy. No, if it’s a normal dream, it shouldn’t hurt, right?

The surroundings were very noisy. They were talking to each other, and yet they were muttering with a look of astonishment and a look of surprise.

“Bring His Majesty!”

“…She’s awake! Hurry up!”

Then, as my vision became brighter, something I should not have noticed caught my eye.

Huh? What is this?

I could see a hand, but it’s certainly mine. It was because of the fact that the back of my hand was as soft and sophisticated as silk and was devoid of any wrinkles.

My real body. These were obviously Anais Percival’s hands.
