Jian Songyi made an appointment with Lu Qi Feng to play games at his house for two nights. He planned to slip at Lu Qi Feng’s after playing until midnight.

Unlike Zhou Luo and Jian Songyi, Bai Huai approved and worshipped Lu Qi Feng and Jian Songyi’s friendship. Besides, their mothers are close friends on the mahjong table for years now. That’s also the reason how Jian Songyi met Lu Qi Feng for the first time.

Lu Qi Feng is a handsome Alpha. He is smart with a straightforward personality. And as if that’s not yet, he is also understanding, good to his family, and righteous. He is the kind of student that is not just popular, but also the student who is friends with everyone at school.

Jian Songyi and Lu Qi Feng studied at the same school from elementary until now. They always play games together, skip classes, and so on. They have a solid and profound revolutionary friendship because of that. Their relationship is solid against any rock.

In contrast, his relationship with Bai Huai is plastin, or what you’d call the inferior one.

As soon as Bai Huai entered the classroom the next morning, he saw Jian Songyi sleeping against the table to catch up on sleep.

With boys around this age, it is not uncommon that they will spend nights hanging out with their friends occasionally.

But when Bai Huai sat down in his seat, he could not help but frown. “Where did you get the scent of pheromone?”

Maybe it’s because Alpha is inherently hostile to the smell of other Alphas.

Meanwhile, Jian Songyi was relaxed and unaware of Bai Huai’s thoughts. He shifted against his seat and then went to lower his head to sniff against his shoulder a few times. He furrowed his brows. “Is there?”

After that, he loosened his collar and lay his head back down lazily. “Li Qi Feng clearly said that he had never worn this shirt before. Why are your Alpha noses so sensitive?”

After saying that, Jian Songyi felt wrong and added, “I meant we Alpha. Why are our noses tend to be sensitive?”

Bai Huai had a pen between his fingertips. He didn’t look over at Jian Songyi but continued writing instead. “You shouldn’t be an Alpha.”

Jian Songyi knows that he is still differentiated at the age of 17, and it is coming a little late. Nevertheless, he has never doubted that he will be differentiated into a top Alpha.

He felt that the man was showing off and looking down on him these days. “You have to be glad I differentiated late, or you’ll be afraid. My pheromones will surely keep you out of class,” he said. “

“Oh, looking forward to it.”

“…..”

Xu Jiaxing felt that the atmosphere behind him was not very good, but he dared not persuade Bai Huai and tangle himself to the situation over there. Fortunately, Mr. Lao finally arrived and then came in with a list.

“The summary of the score sheet of the test yesterday is out, so you can see how you did for yourselves.”

With that, Mr. Lao left. He is still busy patrolling the morning self-study. But as soon as he left, adrenaline was pumped all over the room. It was like a steaming kettle inside where all the students rushed around to crowd the piece of paper.

Why would they rush forward bravely when they know it’s death that’s awaiting them?

Jian Songyi raised his brow, but he didn’t move from his spot.

He never looked at the report card because he is already aware that ‘Jian Songyi’ will always appear at the top no matter what. It was an absolute rule that he is honestly getting tired of it.

He was just thinking about it when a roar broke out from the crowd. “S*it! Brother Song is not the first!”

“Brother Song is the first. You see, his score is the same as that of Bai Huai, except that Bai Huai is a ‘Bai’, so he is on top. Well, what are you looking at me for? “

Xu Jiaxing paused to reflect on what he had said. “No! I am not saying that Bai Huai is a Beta. I really do not mean that!” He quickly defended himself. “Sh*t, don’t look at me! I’m sorry, master Bai! And congratulations as well!”

The whole classroom was silent, waiting for something, anything to unfold before them.

But Zhuo Luo broke the ice by running breathlessly inside. He relied on his petite figure and flexibly squeezed into the crowd all the way to the podium. “Excuse me. Let me take a look.” He stammered. “What the actual f*ck! Brother Song! I can’t believe you’re down there! What happened to you?!”

Hu Jiaxing felt that the road to death is not that far away now.

Jian Songyi slammed his pen against the table. “What did you just say?”

Because of too much strength, the pen rolled all the way to the edge of his table. Bai Huai held out his hand and leaned against the table. “Why are you so worked out? Is that hard to accept that we have the same grade?” He questioned, his eyes not faltering to look away even if their gazes met.

Jian Songyi was the first to break eye contact. “You.” He pointed over at Zhuo Luo and motioned for him to walk over to him.

Zhuo Luo was quick to act and ran over to Jian Songyi with the report card presented to him with both hands.

Jian Songyi took the paper from him aggressively. He then place it over to the table, picked out another pen, and then scribbled his name on the paper. He wrote Bai Huai’s name twice. Through gritted teeth, he shoved the score sheet to Bai Huai. “You’re lucky this time. Next time, I will surely be right on top of you.”

Bai Huai started fiddling with the pen before looking back to Jian Songyi with a light smirk. “That may be a little too difficult for you.”

“Ha. I am sorry to break your ego, but you don’t know how to write ensembles, and because of that, you only got an average score.” Jian Songyi pointed his pen at Bai Hua’s score in the ensemble. “This proves enough that  you’re not that good on this subject.”

Bai Huai smiles as if mocking him. “You’re not that excellent in Chinese either.”

It’s true, Jian Songyi’s lowest score was Chinese. He received full marks from its objective type, but the subjective type was more personal and from there, it’s based on fate and the professor’s preference.

In addition, Bai Huai is all good at English. His intelligence in Math is the same as Jian Songyi, which leaves us to the fact that Bai Huai is two marks higher than Jian Songyi in English and they got the same scores at Math. The real groundbreaking was Chinese wherein Bai Huai scored 18 points higher than him.

It’s just that the gap was pulled back by Jian Songyi’s ensemble score.

In this case, people who have a good brain and work hard often have no problem, but it takes talent to get above 290 points. The more difficult the problem is, the more obvious the talent gap is.

Jian Songyi has always been conceited about this.

Coupled with the repeated provocations from Bai Huai, it’s hard to just shrug off the fact that Bai Huai just stripped him off of the first rank in academics.

Jian Songyi tilted his face to the side. He let the pen hit the table before putting a loose and arrogant smile towards Bai Huai. “Alright then. Whoever takes the lower score in the next examinations will be called father.”

“You are quite unkind to yourself.”

Jian Songyi raised his brow. “I am only rude to you.”

Bai Huai didn’t know that he irritates other people, but he found that interesting somehow.

With that, Bai Huai turned his chair to fully face him. He unfastened the top button of his shirt and rolled his sleeves as if he is getting ready to take up the challenge. With a cold smile, he spoke, “Sure.”

The whole class went silent as they all hold their breaths.

For some reason, this bet sounds a little bit more exciting than it should.

Having the other be called father seems to be rather interesting for them. The two demons will really battle it out head to head.

Although, is this applicable? Is this alright? Their Brother Song is not even differentiated yet.

The two men are confronting each other and was about to throw in more words when Jian Songyi’s phone lit up from under his table.

Zhuo Luo: [Brother Song, it’s not that I do not trust you, but I think doing the bet might be a little bit being impulsive.]

Zhuo Luo: [I habitually entered the liberal arts inquiry system that day. As soon as I found out it was Bai Huai, Mr. Lao took him into the classroom, so I didn’t find anything wrong at that time. But now…]

Zhuo Luo: [i just found out that Bai Huai was the top student in liberal arts in the Beicheng joint examination last time.]
