Chapter 19

Thanks to Jian Songyi’s father, Jian Songyi didn’t think too much about the hug but firmly believed that Bai Huai was indeed a scheming dog, and wanted to hurt him all the time.

Although Bai Huai solemnly made up a set of nonsense explanations for that hug, Jian Songyi thinks that his parents didn’t fully believe any of those.

It was such an unlucky situation for him. He was dressed in his pajamas, not to mention the fact that it’s disheveled. Meanwhile, Bai Huai was well-dressed in a meticulous manner. He even has these gold glasses sitting at the bridge of his nose. He looks like a very respected man.

Then there’s him, sweaty with his face flushed. How can he be compared to a calm and rich-looking man?

Jian Songyi doesn’t know what his parents will think, but he understands that Bai Huai is making his parents have a poor impression of him. This all must’ve been planned.

After-training service. What even is that?

Jian Songyi quickly sent Bai Huai out of his room.

Bai Huai put his hands in his trouser pockets and stood out his door. Looking at his annoyed expression, Bai Huai could not help but crack a small smile. “Your parents seem to have misunderstood. Do you still want to continue, though?”

What he had experienced is only Bai Huai’s 40% of power, and he is already knocked out cold. What more in actual combat? He still has a long way to go if he wanted to surpass even a whimsical Alpha.

Jian Songyi straightened himself before replying: “Go on.”

“But if I release pheromones, I am sure that your parents will notice.”

“…..”

“My grandfather went to visit some place. He is not home. We can go and train there.”

“Alright.”

Bai Huai nodded before turning his heel to go back home. He took two steps but eventually stopped to turn back to Jian Songyi. He picked something from his pocket and then quickly slid it over into Jian Songyi’s pocket in a swift move. After that, he continued his descent down the stairs.

Jian Songyi took it out with ease and saw a piece of milk candy in his pocket.

He heard their front door close and as if on cue, his mobile phone that is in his pocket lit up.

There was a new message and it read: [You performed very well in training today. That’s why Little Huai rewarded you.]

This man.

This childish man.

Jian Songyi quickly unwrapped the candy and threw it into his mouth.

As for the fact that Jian Songyi doesn’t go home first but follows Bai Huai to his house after they’ve gotten back from school was gratifying to both Mrs. and Mr. Jian. They pretended not to know but they always watch and observe the two of them.

“It seems like our son can be given away already.”

“The condition of picking up trash is not bad.”

“Congratulations, honey.”

“Ah… I share the same joy. Congrats to us.”

……

The Eagle Base is located in a barren mountain on the outskirts of Nancheng. It is a large area that accommodates a well-equipped canteen. It’s the largest expansion training base in the province. It is also contracted by several schools for military training all over Nancheng.

According to former and current seniors, there are giant ladders, horizontal bars in mid-air, broken bridges, trust back falls, large walls, obstacle runs, shooting and targeting practice, and long-distance running and training.

But even so, Director Peng Minghong, the devil, has set an assessment for this training. If the assessment level does not reach the excellent level, then he had just jeopardized the selection of the three best students this semester.

On the other hand, all the students just wanted to die upon hearing all of those said activities.

So that Friday, the whole class frowned upon and discussed their epitaphs one after another.

When their last class for that afternoon was in session with Mr. Lao Bai, he saw the lifeless look from his students. This was enough to make him laugh. “Let me tell you some good news to lift your spirits up.”

“?”

“We will not hold the evening self-study tonight.”

“Whoa! No way! There would be no evening self-study classes every Friday night? Whooo!”

“Hey, hey.” Lao Bai pretended not to hear it and continued to laugh. “But of course, the good news is always followed by a piece of not-so-good news. The second announcement: We will take the school bus to the Eagle Base in the evening so that we can officially start the military training tomorrow morning!”

“…..”

“The life committee should have reminded everyone to pack up, didn’t they? Nonetheless, if you have forgotten something, those who live on the campus will be allowed to return to their dormitory while those who don’t can call their parents. Those who live alone and outside of school can tell me what they need. I’m willing to go shopping for you. You don’t have to bring electronic equipment and snacks anyway because you’ll hand them in even if you bring them. ”

Everyone mourned and wept.

“Teacher, my  heat is coming soon.”

“I have the heat already, Mr. Lao Bai.”

“You two are Alpha, right? Do you need me to send the two of you to the National Human Research Center?”

“No, sir. My heat is a little unhappy with me. I don’t think it will come again any time soon.’

“…..”

Lao bai understands the situation they are in, no matter how many times he tried to be the rational one. “Forget it, everyone in this class has not had the heart to go on this trip. Thus, I’m letting you move around in the meantime. Monitor, you, the sports committee, and the life committee must go and pick up the military training uniform for your class. Try it first. It must not be too late to change and correct the wrong sizes or other troubles you might encounter from it. And then, just make sure that everyone will gather at the gate at 7:30 in the evening.”

Although they are reluctant, the nail in the coffin is already set. They can not change anything, so they can only accept the fact that they’re going to the training no matter what. Thus, the discussion about the epitaph drifted to the military training clothes.

…..

Nanwai is still on time despite the short notice. The quality of the camouflage clothes is good. It even has its matching black military boots. Each student has their own with their registered sizes, but it’s a pity that the uniforms didn’t actually fit them perfectly.

Yu Ziguo, in particular, is as thin as a bamboo pole. His camouflage suit ends up being a huge sack for him. But that’s only the start. His belt buckle is also too wide than he would actually prefer. He is already at the end of it and yet the belt is still falling down his waist. It’s like a jade belt for the official master in Beijing Opera.

No matter how he bowed his head and looked at it, he couldn’t picture himself wearing this for the military training. He is both aggrieved and worried.

But then, there are these two supposed gods that are still in their seats, looking indifferent while everyone is trying on their uniforms. Yang Yue noticed and as the one in charge, she took initiative to remind them again about the task at hand. “Brother Song, Brother Huai, why aren’t you trying your military uniforms? What if it doesn’t fit?”

Jian Songyi raised his right brow. “There’s nothing to try. Your Brother Songyi is here. He will look handsome no matter what.”

Bai Huai: “…..”

Alright. Bai Huai pretended not to know that a certain someone was stubborn and firmly refused to change clothes in the public bathroom. Nonetheless, it’s not like they would care of what everyone else says, so he left it at that.

Yu Ziguo heard the conversation between the two. He couldn’t help but blindly worship and be jealous of Jian Songyi and Bai Huai even more. He felt that the statement from what he views as a male god now is very reasonable, so he nodded approvingly.

He then bowed his head again to continue fiddling with his belt while frowning. “I have to do something. My belt is so loose that my underwear doesn’t have a sense of security anymore.”

Jian Songyi was amused by this statement: “I think you have a gift for language.”

Bai Huai looked at the loose belt. He stared at it for a while before standing up as an idea popped into his head. He left the classroom and only returned when the time for gathering had already come up.

The school bus is already full of people when he arrived. Only Jian Songyi has a vacant seat next to him.

Unfortunately, Jian Songyi’s bag can be seen sitting on top of it. It’s as if showing that the seat is already deliberately taken and occupied.

Nevertheless, it’s not like he got any other choice. But when he walked over, Master Jian Songyi looked up at him arrogantly. “Doesn’t my schoolbag deserve a complete seat?”

Bai Huai didn’t bother to expose him to the teacher. He ought to deal with the situation himself by picking up his schoolbag and placing it directly on the shelf before sitting down.

Jian Songyi frowned. “Bully.”
