Mariah kept walking back and forth. Her gaze went to the nametag before turning her head away.
It continued for several minutes before she came to a stop. Her breathing became slower, trying not to make any sound.
She tried to hear any noise coming from the room, but the only thing she managed to hear was the distinct sound of talking. It didn't sound like her daughter's voice.
Instead, a voice usually heard on TV's.
Mariah turned to look at the wooden door. She raised her arm and knocked on the door.
Knock! Knock!
Her body froze as she heard footsteps nearing. They were quiet like the person was barely touching the floor.
*Creak*
The door opened, and a white-haired youth appeared. His face showed split-second surprise before turning to normal.
''My name is Isaac Whitelock. I don't think we introduced each other before.'' Isaac stretched his arm forward.
''Ah, yes.'' Mariah shook his hand and felt shocked at the softness her hand felt, ''Mariah Snowflower, Luna's mother…''
Isaac nodded.
''Where is…'' Mariah tried to look past Isaac, ''Luna?''
Isaac stepped to the side and showed the bed. At the edge of the bed, Luna's eyes were glued to the screen. She hadn't noticed her mother appearing.
''Honey, we have to go,'' Mariah said gently. While looking around the room, she sighed a breath of relief after realizing that nothing unholy was happening in the room.
She couldn't properly relax knowing that her daughter was alone in a room with a boy. She was glad to know that her worries were unfounded.
Luna's cheeks swelled, a visible pout on her face, ''Do we have to?''
Mariah wryly smiled and nodded, ''We have taken advantage of their hospitality long enough.''
''Ok…'' Luna stood up and dragged her feet behind as she reached the door.
She wrapped her arms around Isaac's waist and whispered, ''Goodbye…''
''Take care.'' Isaac returned the hug and gave a quick pat on the head.
Luna's mouth curved into a slight smile as she stepped outside the room.
''Goodbye, it was nice to meet you.'' Mariah nodded and walked after her energetic daughter.
Isaac watched them walking down the stairs. Once they disappeared from the view, he closed the door.
''Hmm, only 8 P.M.'' Isaac saw the clock slowly ticking, ''I can play for four hours… Give or take.''
He went straight to the wardrobe and opened the doors.
However, at that moment, his body froze.
The clothes that he piled up to cover the box were untidy.
Isaac crouched and frowned, ''Someone was here..?''
He lowered his gaze, at the edge of the wardrobe, he saw a strand of hair.
He picked up the strand of hair and hovered it in front of his eyes, ''Black hair… It wasn't my grandparents… Luna?''
An image of Luna appeared in his mind. Her beautiful black hair was more than apparent in his mind.
''Why did she come here?'' His forehead scrunched up, ''Right… She said something about adventure.''
He tried to remember whether he had closed the wardrobe properly. He remembered closing the doors. However, he couldn't remember the familiar clanking noise that usually appeared.
'I didn't close it properly…' He opened his eyes and stored the strand of hair in his front pocket.
''Well… She didn't open the box, so it doesn't matter.'' He took the box into his arms and carried it back to the bed.
He took out the Mythical VR Helmet and covered his face with it.
Creak!
The bed creaked as he lied down on his bed. He moved to a more comfortable position and pressed the button.
