Fu Mengshan said, “Then let Xiao Chen bring you there, the corpse is in their courtyard.”
Chu Li did a fist salute and nodded. “I’ll have to trouble you then, Centurion Chen.”
Chen Donghai shot him a cold look. “I’ve seen the body and there was no clue at all—unless you can conjure something up?”
Chu Li smiled and said, “Everybody has a different level of eyesight, just because Centurion Chen can’t see, doesn’t mean I can’t either, I’ll have to see it to know for sure.”
Chen Donghai harrumphed. “Oh yeah, then I’d like to see what this famous Head Chief Chu has up his sleeves, let’s go!”
Fu Mengshan said petulantly, “You two! That’s enough, don’t forget that there are the laws of the Public House so if you two really cause trouble, don’t even think about getting off easy!”
Chu Li laughed. “Don’t worry, centurion, we’re just bickering.”
As he said those words, he glanced at Chen Donghai, his head and took the first step out of the main hall.
Chen Donghai felt resentful over his look and said coldly, “Commander, just chase off this arrogant fellow!”
“If you had his ability, I’ll definitely chase him off!” Fu Mengshan waved. “In this Secret Guardians Hall of ours, those superior will succeed and the inferior will be eliminated, don’t forget that if we can’t find the culprit within the three-day limit, you can give up on being a centurion!”
“Yes!” Chen Donghai huffed and left with big steps.
He could sense Commander’s favor upon Chu Li and he also knew the reason for that.
This Chu person’s ability was truly above others’, they were all insiders, so they knew how hard the cases Chu Li solved.
However, his head position in Mei Yi Courtyard must remain untouched, so he must do his best to suppress Mei Er Courtyard’s side.
He came outside the hall and Chu Li was standing with his hands clasped behind his back as he examined his surroundings.
He glared at Chu Li angrily, this view was particularly offensive.
‘If Chu Li was going to wait, then he should have waited properly, showing off that carefree look of his would just make people feel uncomfortable.’
“Follow me!” Chen Donghai harrumphed.
Chu Li walked beside him and asked calmly, “Do you have confidence, Centurion Chen, are you worried that this can’t be completed within the promised three days?”
“Why can’t this be completed?” Chen Donghai glowered at him.
Chu Li asked, “Can you catch the culprit?”
“The culprit? I can always catch him if I want to.” Chen Donghai huffed.
Chu Li frowned and blurted out in astonishment, “You’d dare to do so?”
Chen Donghai replied, “Why wouldn’t I?”
Chu Li shook his head and sighed, “You’ll end up in trouble someday.”
Chen Donghai chuckled coldly, “Hmph, what trouble! You’re still inexperienced, don’t think that you can be impertinent with just a few tricks up your sleeves and not know the immensity of heaven and earth, there are many skills in this field that you still need to learn!”
Chu Li frowned, “You’re saying that the Commander also knows about this, but he’s just feigning ignorance.”
“Hmph, what do you think?” Chen Donghai smoothly snapped a cherry blossom branch that grew to the sidewalk and crushed it into dust with his hands. He then opened his palm for the powder to be blown away as he pursed his lips, and said, “He just needs to be disingenuous, and blame it on me if anything happens, then I’ll push it on to my subordinates. It’s not a big sin for a secret guardian to make a mistake in a case anyway, the worst would just be a transfer to another department, but no big deal, we’ll just get transferred back after a while!”
Chu Li shook his head. “This is truly eye-opening!”
Chen Donghai scoffed. “You should know this, how could we solve so many cases? As long as we don’t wrongly accuse a good person, those scapegoats were people whose crimes deserved punishments worse than death, they weren’t wronged to death at all.”
Chu Li shook his head.
He suddenly stopped walking and glared intensely at Chu Li, “Do you get it now? Do you really think that you can hold me back with just a three-day limit?”
He smiled as he looked at Chen Donghai, shaking his head.
Chen Donghai felt a punch to his gut which rendered him powerless, so he merely harrumphed again before turning away.
Both of them arrived at Mei Yi Courtyard.
This courtyard’s structure size was similar to that of Mei Er Courtyard, but there were many people living here.
There were only around thirteen to fourteen people in Mei Er Courtyard, but meanwhile, there were over a hundred people in Mei Yi Courtyard where every house there was inhabited, this was a stark difference to the emptiness of Mei Er Courtyard.

“Centurion.” A white-haired elder welcomed them. “How is it?”
Chen Donghai pointed at Chu Li. “Oh, you recognize him, right? He’s Centurion Chu, bring him to see Crown Prince Shan’s Protector.”
The elder smiled. “Yes. Centurion Chu, I’m Zhu Fan, please follow me.”
Chen Donghai turned and left in big steps, leaving Chu Li where he was.
Chu Li expected this from him and was not even bothered—he would just get back at the other party next time. Chu Li did a fist salute to Zhu Fan. “I’ll count on you then!”
Zhu Fan chuckled and said, “You flatter me, Centurion Chu, you’re young and talented and I admire you a lot. Our centurion is a straightforward man, so please don’t mind him too much, Centurion Chu.”
“Haha, a straightforward man…” Chu Li could not help but laugh. “Lead the way.”
Chen Donghai’s mind was filled with so many twisted paths, he was far from being a straightforward man.
Zhu Fan chortled as he walked in front as a guide.
…
Chu Li stood in front of the middle-aged Protector’s corpse, his forehead knotted in a frown.
There was a wound on the body’s precordium, which was the fatal blow, everything seemed coincidental.
Chu Li closed his eyes and used the Manifestation of Nature Restoration.
The Omniscient Mirror examined every inch of the body, the skeleton, muscles, viscera, limbs, brain, hair and skin—it left nothing out.
These build a strong foundation for the Manifestation of Nature Restoration to work upon.
The Manifestation of Nature Restoration’s first challenge was eyesight, the lower its level was, the weaker one’s five senses and their data acquisition from the outside world were. This then meant less accurate analysis results.
Chu Li felt that his Manifestation of Nature Restoration was like a large-scale information analysis and prediction system, in the terms of the knowledge from his past life, his brain was like a supercomputer that can analyze and predict the target’s development.
The Omniscient Mirror was the best information acquisition system, the more precise the data was, the more accurate its analysis and predictions were.
His new master, Shen Xu did not possess the Omniscient Mirror which was why his Manifestation of Nature Restoration’s formidable power was weak and that there was a big difference between his formidable power and Chu Li’s. It was no wonder why the Manifestation of Nature Peak was going downhill, they were demanding too much from cultivators.
“Centurion Chu?” Zhu Fan called carefully.
He was watching as Chu Li had seemingly fallen asleep. Chu Li dozing off next to a dead body proved that geniuses truly had uncommon behavior, they all had some peculiarities.
As Chu Li opened his eyes, his gaze though initially blazingly bright, slowly grew fainter.
His brows, however, were knitted together.
“Mmm, let’s leave.” Chu Li turned to exit. “Thank you so much!”
“No worries.” Zhu Fan then quickly asked, “Did you find anything, Centurion Chu?”
Chu Li nodded. “There were some.”
“What were they?” Zhu Fan immediately asked.
Chu Li turned and shot him a look with a half-smile on his face.
Zhu Fan hastily forced out a laugh and said awkwardly, “Look at me, I’m so impatient, I can’t wait to catch the criminal!”
Chu Li replied, “Please head back and thank Centurion Chen for me and don’t bother to see me off!”
“I better send you off.” Zhu Fan quickly said.
Chu Li said nothing else as he left in quick, big steps.
…
After Zhu Fan saw Chu Li leave, he immediately went back to the main hall, did a fist salute and said, “Centurion, he left.”
Seated in his armchair, Chen Donghai put down his teacup and asked lazily, “How was it?”
“He seemed to have found some clues,” Zhu Fan said.
Chen Donghai frowned. “He really found something?”
Zhu Fan replied, “It’s just that one punch, what else can he find there, is his eyesight that good?”
“This Little Chu really has some ability no one else does.” Chen Donghai huffed. “I took the wrong step this time!”
