Yue Ru’s Musical Assassination Technique was superb as well and most people would succumb to its effects. However, her skill was nothing compared to Bai Feng’s — the difference was like a child’s and an adult’s.
After a while, the two middle-aged men laid on the ground, unmoving and they were dead.
The ten people on the ground had been reduced to dried up corpses and it was horrifying to look at. Yue Ru was the only woman who saw this and her expression turned to one of disgust as a nauseous feeling welled up inside her.
After Zhang Junrui spat out a mouthful of blood, his face went pale. He cupped his fists and said in a deep voice, “Miss Bai, I’ve misunderstood you!”
“I don’t care whether you misunderstood me or not. I’ll get rid of you first.”
“All of the disciples of the Blazing Sun Clan know that I’ve come to Phoenix Goddess Brothel.”
“Then I’ll just say you’ve left to go after the Church of the Bloody Garment and you’re nowhere to be found.”
“Miss Bai, when have I offended you? Why do you want me to die?”
“Do you think I wasn’t aware of the fact that you often plotted against Phoenix Goddess Brothel?”
“It’s just a little fight. Why do you want to make this a matter of life and death?”
“Hmph, you’ve always wanted to kill me. So how are you going to explain this?”
“I never had such intentions!”
“Even at this moment, you still want to lie?” Bai Feng laughed wickedly. “No point in lying anyway. No one can save you today!”
“The Flaming Sun Sect and the Tian Luo Sect should unite to tackle the White Tiger Sect. How can we fight amongst ourselves?!” Zhang Junrui said, “Miss Bai Feng, don’t worry. Once you let me go, I’ll let my disciple, Lu Xiaofeng marry Miss Yue Ru. How does that sound?”
“Haha…” Bai Feng let out a heartless laugh.
Yue Ru hesitated as she looked towards Bai Feng.
Bai Feng rolled her eyes and sneered, “Do you really want to marry Lu Xiaofeng?”
Yue Ru nodded slowly.
Despite her feelings for Lu Xiaofeng, she had not been blinded by her emotions and she still had a clear sense of judgment. She was ultimately a disciple of the Tian Luo Sect, whereas he was a disciple of the Flaming Sun Sect, so it was impossible for them to get married.
Moreover, judging from this situation, she knew that Lu Xiaofeng was not a reliable man. To him, she was not as important as the Blazing Sun Clan and he would surely abandon her for the clan.
Bai Feng scoffed. “That’s fine then!”
“But…” Yue Ru asked, “do you have to kill him? Won’t the Flaming Sun Sect avenge his death?”
Bai Feng looked at her with disdain.
Yue Ru loved the people related to Lu Xiaofeng. She was against her master’s intention of executing Zhang Junrui because if so, both sects would end up as deadly enemies. Then, that would make both Lu Xiaofeng and her become arch enemies until they fight each other to death. It was hard to imagine what it would be like.
Chu Li cleared his throat and spoke, “Or, just spare his life.”
Bai Feng turned to look at him.
Chu Li asserted, “If you kill him, you will put Miss Yue Ru in a tight spot.”
“This girl only thinks about love!” Bai Feng shook her head.
Chu Li smiled. “Lu Xiaofeng likes Miss Yue Ru, so Zhang Junrui won’t harm you, Senior Bai.”
Bai Feng frowned and snorted, “That kid might not care about love!”
Chu Li argued, “The members of the Flaming Sun Sect are not amateurs. If you kill him, they will find out who the culprit is. Causing a rift between both sects is a bad idea, so it’s better if you let him go.”
In fact, he saw a completely different thought in Zhang Junrui’s mind.
Zhang Junrui did not want Bai Feng dead. On the contrary, he liked and admired Bai Feng, but he buried his emotions deep beneath his heart and did not want to show it. Rather, he wanted to go against everything that Bai Feng did.

Although Bai Feng was a sharp-witted woman, she did not notice Zhang Junrui’s true emotions. All she did was assume his intention to murder her.
Chu Li let out a silent sigh. Zhang Junrui was a patient man. If he did die under Bai Feng’s hands, it would be extremely unfortunate and he could not bear the thought of this. Thus, he decided to plead for him.
“…Alright, since you’ve spoken, I shall spare him this time!” Bai Feng snorted and immediately stopped strumming the instrument.
Zhang Junrui spat out another mouthful of blood before he slumped to the ground. He let out a pained smile.
Chu Li said, “Senior Bai, based on my observation, Zhang Junrui fancies you. I’ll go remove the formation. Please excuse me!”
After that, he turned around and left.
Bai Feng was flabbergasted. She then laughed heartily and thought that Chu Li was great at making jokes.
Chu Li channeled energy with both hands and stared at the void. All of a sudden, he reached his hand out and scooped out a jade lion from the void with an outstretched arm. Following that, the remaining seven jade artifacts gradually floated out of the void as well. With one hand, Chu Li caught them all.
Carrying all the jade artifacts with him, Chu Li turned around and left Phoenix Goddess Brothel.
As Yue Ru noticed his expression, she smiled. She then turned to Bai Feng and whispered, “Master, what Master Zhao said…”
“Enough of that nonsense!” Bai Feng glared at her. “He’s joking.”
“I doubt Master Zhao would joke about such matters.”
“Then just treat it as a joke!” Bai Feng replied impatiently. “I’m no spring chicken!”
Yue Ru observed her face and proceeded to shake her head.
Compared to her, her master looked younger and was very beautiful. Hence, it was normal for men to fall in love with her master. Yet, she liked to keep to herself and instead, thought that she was old.
Bai Feng walked towards Zhang Junrui and snorted, “How are you? Do you understand how powerful I am now?”
Zhang Junrui’s looked up at her before he got up slowly. He grimaced. “Miss Bai, why do you have to do this?”
“You’re always scheming and up to no good!” Bai Feng said coldly. “I’ve been kind enough to spare a conniving, diabolical man like you. If there’s a next time, I will most certainly kill you!”
Zhang Junrui sighed. “I really wanted to help you.”
“Thank you very much, but there’s no need to do so.” Bai Feng replied dismissively and pointed at the ten disciples of the Church of the Bloody Garment. “Take care of them. Now that’s easy!”
Zhang Junrui forced a smile. He then exhaled a pent-up breath and nodded. “Yes, it was all my fault. The Phoenix Goddess Brothel is unassuming. I didn’t expect a master to be present!”
He did not expect Phoenix Goddess Brothel and the Tian Luo Sect to be so well-prepared that they even had a formation master to assist them. What could he say about that? The disciples of the Church of the Bloody Garment did not die in vain. However, Bai Feng’s actions were unpredictable indeed. Not only did she hide the fact that she had a formation master with her, but she even spread the word that she was looking for help. Her look of helplessness was just a façade after all and she had duped everyone around her!
Bai Feng spoke, “Get lost now! Phoenix Goddess Brothel doesn’t welcome you. Don’t ever come back!”
“Sigh…” Zhang Junrui shook his head.
Bai Feng walked up the stairs gracefully while Yue Ru followed behind her. Before ascending the stairs, she faced Zhang Junrui and curtsied.
In return, Zhang Junrui smiled and nodded in acknowledgment.
He felt embarrassed to be beaten up so badly by Bai Feng in front of Yue Ru.
Nonetheless, there was a tiny spark of joy inside him. If someone else were to beat him up this way, he would be furious and would even swear revenge on him. However, instead of being angry when Bai Feng beat him up, he enjoyed the process and wished for her to always torture him like this.
“Master?” A loud voice boomed without warning. Lu Xiaofeng took large strides into the room and was shocked when he discovered an injured Zhang Junrui.
Zhang Junrui waved an arm. “I’m fine.”
“Where are the rest of the people from the Church of the Bloody Garment?” Lu Xiaofeng asked.
Zhang Junrui shook his head. “They’re all dead.”
“Master, didn’t you say that you won’t be coming here?” Lu Xiaofeng grumbled. “So why did you come here?”
“We belong on the same side after all. It was too dangerous and I thought that I should extend a helping hand,” Zhang Junrui explained.
Lu Xiaofeng replied, “The Church of the Bloody Garment is insane. If their blood comes into contact with us, we can never get rid of it!”
