Nicholas Fyre never considered himself omnipotent or omnipresent.

He was much stronger than wizards and knew far more than many would have guessed from a man of his appearance, that was true. But he never let the dark thoughts of his terrifying power reach his mind, where it would sink deep and take root, turning his confidence into a hideous arrogance.

Was he one of ten creatures on the entire planet Earth who were almost impossible to kill? Yes.

Was his body and mind immortal? Sadly, yes.

Did he have powers beyond human comprehension? Well, the answer to this question would also be yes, but in order to use the said powers, one must understand exactly how they work, so no. But did he have special powers inaccessible to an ordinary, basic person? Of course.

But even so, Nick was well aware that there are enough things in the world beyond his knowledge and understanding. That's why the blonde girl lying on his living room couch – in an outfit that was nothing but an insult to fashion, mind you – intrigued him so much.

A "Fairy" was something new, something unknown, something that low-intellect people would want to exterminate, high-intellect people would want to explore. Like everything new, she would frighten the people of Earth if they knew about her powers. Nick has already seen it countless times. Wizards couldn't always stay in the shadows, after all.

But what about Nick? Well, as his duty as protector of the Earth demanded, he had to find out exactly how the girl was casting spells without mana in her body. As a researcher, he had to see if anyone could recreate it. And like any self-respecting teenager – although the coin was still in the air about this one – he would like to ask why this crazy girl decided not to wear a bra.

After he threw the fairy on his back, Marie informed him that all free sorcerers would arrive at his house as soon as they could, if only to contain the possible danger that this girl might pose, and promptly hung up. So, he was left alone with Bloom and Kiko, and both had their own questions. Fortunately, the rabbit couldn't speak, otherwise Nick would have curb-stomped the fluffy asshole.

Luckily, Bloom was able to hold back the torrent of questions until they were safe at his house, although was it out of shock or out of the realization that talking openly about fairies would be unwise, Nick didn't know.

Another problem on his plate was the fact that he couldn't read the girl's mind, every time he tried, he was greeted not with thoughts, but with star, threatening to burn his brain if he tried to peek any further. Well, at least it gave him proof that the girl had powers… If only he knew what those powers were and his day would be better.

"Nick?" Bloom's uncertain voice came from the chair next to the sofa. The redhead chose to sit closer to the blonde to monitor her condition. Nick didn't approve of this decision, but decided to refrain from commenting. "I would ask if you are a fairy too, but I think the answer is no."

Nick chuckled at her joke even though he was in a nasty mood and looked back at Bloom from his seat on the sofa in front of the wide window. He was waiting for his friends to arrive and damn they were slow.

"What gave you that idea? A book about sorcerers I put in the wrong box, or the fact that I have a penis? Dunno if fairies have those, but if they do, I'll be surprised." Bloom giggled at his joke and was finally able to relax a bit.

Her shock at knowing that magic existed had already faded into the background, so she was finally could start to ask questions. Or could have, if at that moment the door to Nick's house hadn't opened and an obviously worried Mike and Vanessa hadn't walked in. But they did, and Nick's headache became worse.

"Bloom! We couldn't get through to you!" Vanessa breathed a sigh of relief and the parents immediately approached their daughter, noticing the blonde on the couch only at the last moment. "What happened? Who is this girl?"

Unlike Vanessa, Mike looked at Nick's face when he entered his house and noticed his doomed look, so for now he decided to remain quiet. Nick himself was now just staring up at the ceiling, deciding how exactly to deal with the approaching hurricane of madness, which the wizards called "S10 Council."

Taking a deep breath, Bloom began her story, "In the morning after you gave me the bike, I decided to take a ride to the park. When I got there, Kiko ran into the forest only to come back almost immediately. The poor boy was so scared, I thought something bad had happened."

Nick listened attentively to Bloom's story, having already risen from the couch. He moved closer to the sleeping fairy, finally deciding that even with the protective Wards on his house, it wasn't worth the risk to be careless. And, of course, Nick didn't forget to turn on the recorder to record everything Bloom said.

He made a note that Kiko was even smarter than he expected. To lead someone to the battlefield, he must have more brains than can fit in a rabbit's head. Her story matched what Nick had found at the clearing, the spells that used the power of the Sun explained the traces of burnt grass, but not the dragon in the sky. It wasn't until Bloom said that the dragon was her doing that Nick realized just how big of a problem he had on his hands.

Instead of one possible dimension-controlling deity, they now had two. And one of them was his fucking neighbor who had no idea what she was really capable of.

Mike and Vanessa listened carefully to her words, trying not to interrupt and only asked questions when Bloom was distracted from the topic. When she was finished, no one said a word for a couple of minutes.

"Bloom, I'm not sure I understand. Could you run that by me again?" Mike asked. With a huff, Bloom was ready to speak again, but this time she was interrupted by a loud "wuhmp".

There was now a hole in reality in the center of Nick's living room, as if someone had cut out a circular hyper-realistic 3D photograph of a completely different place and hung it from the ceiling. But what shocked the Price family was that a Japanese girl in her early twenties and a little girl no older than seven stepped into the room through this hole. Nick sighed heavily and looked at Joylin and Marie, suddenly wishing he had told them to go through the door.

Joylin's pink hair and bright purple eyes definitely set her apart from the crowd. The girl was a little over one hundred and sixty centimeters and practically shone with energy. Joylin looked seriously at all the occupants of the room before her gaze landed on Nick. "I didn't think you'd have guests, but it's not that important right now." Surrendering to his fate, Nick opened his arms with a sigh and Joylin immediately jumped on him, she was three heads shorter than Nick, so that she hung on him like a koala. "Nikky! I'm so glad to see you! Why are you calling Marie more often than me? I might just think you forgot about me; you know?"

Joylin wrapped her arms around his neck tighter with a happy smile on her face. Nick let out a strangled sound from his throat, already feeling his mental stability begin to falter. 'Just squeeze my neck a little tighter, I'll die and darkness will embrace my soul. The magic from my cursed body will go to someone else, someone who can handle this madness.'

"Joylene, I know you missed me very much, but can you either break my neck or let go? We have things to do," he said drily and placed the agent of chaos #2 on the floor, completely ignoring the shocked faces of Bloom and her parents.

Sticking his lounge out in surprising show of maturity, Joylene bounced to the table on the kitchen and claimed the seat closest to the window. "You're no fun." Marie was already at the head of the table, which was no surprise to the sorcerer.

Ivan stepped through the portal next, a rather stout man with short golden hair, a thick beard and green eyes shining with amusement. He was about the same height as Mike, but he stood straight as a stick, so he looked a little taller in front of the slightly hunched man.

"Nik! You distracted me from doing something important, my boy." Ivan put his hands on Nick's shoulders and kissed him three times on the cheeks, no one was even surprised by this action, hearing his obvious Russian accent.

Nick just rolled his eyes and pushed the overly friendly fat man away from him. The man had no idea about the existence of personal space. "I assure you, it's worth your time." Ivan laughed and also went to the table, sitting to Joylin's left.

Mike and Vanessa, seeing that the people exiting the portal were friendly and apparently knew Nick, were able to reset their brains. Seeing real magic made them think about Bloom's words. Who expected their daughter's story to be true? It was almost impossible for them to believe that magic existed without any evidence, but now they definitely believed.

Unfortunately for them, the next sorcerer to come out of the portal didn't look friendly at all. The first thing that caught their eye were his metal arms – which were perfectly visible thanks to the shirt that Patrick wore – although it was difficult to say that these things were arms. Maybe someday in the past they were, but definitely not now. From the body of the sorcerer protruded metal human bones, carved with runes from shoulders to the tips of his fingers.

Barring his unusual arms, the man was the second shortest of the entire sorcerer company, ten centimeters shorter than Joylin. His black shaggy hair and cold brown eyes instilled fear even in the hearts of Demons. Patrick stepped out of the portal and stopped, scanning the entire house and even the surrounding area with his magic, which even Bloom could feel. Frowning in confirmation of Marie's words before the trip, he nodded towards Nick and sat opposite Igor.

Bloom and Vanessa thought that they couldn't be surprised any more this evening, but apparently, they were wrong. They didn't expect to recognize one of Nick's friends, and they certainly didn't expect it to be Catherine Cavalcanti herself!

Catherine was the last to appear from the portal, but immediately froze in place, her gaze on the girl lying on the sofa, to be more precise, on her clothes. Nick immediately waved his hand and the portal closed behind the middle-aged woman before she could jump back.

Nick put a hand on her shoulder and hugged the woman, blocking her view of the crime against fashion. "Shh, I know, I know. But now is not the time."

Taking a deep breath, Catherine took a deep breath and nodded. "If she even dares to defend these rags, I'll burn her to a crisp."

Nick threw an apologetic glance at the Price family and gently pushed Catherine towards the kitchen, where the woman sat down across from Joylin.

The portal closed with another "wuhmp," causing Vanessa to jump in place. Nick sighed heavily as he stared at the kitchen door, knowing that the next hour or two would be spent in long conversations.

"Nick? What's going on?" Bloom asked again.

"A meeting of six lunatics, that's what," he muttered irritably. "Go to the kitchen, when I've got our new friend to stop pretending to be asleep, we'll join you."

The fairy immediately groaned and opened her eyes, slowly getting up from the sofa. "Seriously? Won't you even let a girl sleep for a couple more minutes after a difficult battle?"

Nick looked at her with a faint smile. "No! Now run to the kitchen, we have a million questions for you."

The fairy nodded knowing she had no choice, 'Especially if I want to thank this fairy.' She looked at Bloom and also went into the kitchen, everyone else followed her.

Three more chairs appeared behind Marie, where the girl asked the Price family to sit, leaving the fairy a place directly opposite her. Nick just went to the stove and poured himself some tea, being the only one standing.

He knew perfectly well what Marie had done and did not protest. She seated the family of most likely innocent people behind her so that if attacked by a fairy, the sorcerers could protect them. Nick was the only one standing to watch the movements of their unexpected guest.

The fairy sat down at the table and glanced nervously at Patrick and his arms, but decided to keep her thoughts about his villainous appearance to herself.

Mike was the first to break the silence. "So, what should we do? Shouldn't we call the police?"

"No, no please. Don't tell anyone," the fairy shook her head. "There are already too many people here…"

Marie finally looked up from her laptop and looked at the fairy. "Even if someone called the police about fairies and magic, our people would intercept the call. The existence of magic on Earth is a secret to most of the population."

The fairy recoiled, looking at everyone around with wide eyes. "Huh? I'm on Earth?" she muttered.

Everyone looked at each other, hearing what the fairy said. Igor cleared his throat. "We'll talk about this a later, first we'll introduce ourselves. My name is Igor. The man with iron bone hands is Patrick, and the bird with pink hair is Joylin." Joylin waved cheerfully at the fairy and smiled amiably; Patrick limited himself to a nod in her direction. "Marina is sitting at her laptop, and next to her is Ekaterina. And the two-meter-long man with coffee is Nick. Each of us are magic users and protectors of this planet."

Bloom spoke next. "My name is Bloom, these are my parents, Mike and Vanessa," she pointed to her parents, who also smiled at the fairy.

The blond girl shook her head to shake off the shock and smiled back. "My name is Stella, I'm a fairy. Can I ask you something first? Where are you all from? I didn't think there were fairies or magic users left on Earth."

Patrick raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms over his chest. "There were fairies on our planet? Seriously? Our League has been around for two thousand years and there is not a single record of your existence in the libraries." His voice sounded dry, as if he had spent an eternity in the Sahara.

The sorcerers' libraries were huge, containing millions of records of magical happenings from all over the world. Many wizards kept diaries or simply wrote reports from time immemorial, so the chances of anything left unrecorded were slim.

Stella scratched the back of her head with a soft huh, not sure what to say.

Marie took the recorder out of the small portal and turned it on. "Okay, first tell us what happened."

The easiest thing was to first hear the whole story from the source and then ask questions. So, when Stella started talking, no one even thought to interrupt her.

"I was traveling between worlds to get to Alfea castle in the realm of Magix – a school for young Fairies – when I was attacked. It was a yellow troll and about a hundred small ghouls. The troll wanted to steal my scepter. Why, I don't know, it's possible that he wanted to get his hands on the symbol of Solaria…" She mused. "Anyway, there were too many of them and I tried to teleport to escape, but I always had problems with portals, so I landed on this planet. I didn't even know it was Earth until you said it," she nodded to Marie with gratitude.

"But the troll followed me, also opening a portal. It was definitely someone helping him, because trolls can't use magic like we, fairies, do." Marie made a note in her notebook to deal with this later. "The troll was able to steal my scepter and was about to kill me, but Bloom distracted him and I was able to push him away from me, but it took the last drops of my strength." Bloom fidgeted in her seat at the looks of Vanessa and Michael. "The troll grabbed Bloom by the legs, but she released a huge fire dragon into his ugly face and destroyed all the ghouls!"

Glares from her parents told Bloom that they would talk about it later. No good parent wanted to hear about how their child put themselves in danger.

"I bluffed that with the scepter in my hands again, I could defeat him, forcing the troll to flee, but I passed out immediately afterwards. So, thanks for saving my life, Bloom." Stella smiled brightly.

Silence reigned in the kitchen, leaving only the sounds of the sleeping city outside the window and the quiet sipping of coffee. When Igor and Catherine took the mugs wasn't clear, but no one thought about it too much.

"So, questions, gentlemen and ladies?" Nick put the mug next to the sink and walked over to the table. Now was time for the interrogation.
