Chapter 2: Beginnings

Feeling the maid wash her body, an annoyed expression appeared on Beatrice's face.

"Wash this spot," said Beatrice as she pointed to a place on her left hand, where some parts of her experimental subject had landed.

Without saying anything, the maid began once again gently cleaning Beatrice's pale hands, as if scared to damage them.

Suddenly, a knock on the door of the bath was heard.

"Enter," said Beatrice before another one of her maids entered the baths.

"One of the black ones," said Beatrice before the maid even asked the question, causing the latter to exit the baths as quickly as she entered them.

"Get on with it, I don't have all day," said Beatrice as she felt the maid slowly but gently wash her body.

Even though she felt the black dress wrap tightly around her body, right now, Beatrice could not be bothered to have her maids change her into another.

"Increase the size of the black dresses by one, as for the others, I don't want to see them," said Beatrice as she walked out of the room, leaving the two maids alone.

After walking for a while, Beatrice finally arrived at the entrance of the dining room that the family mainly used.

As soon as the two guards saw Beatrice, they immediately made way and allowed her to enter.

Without saying anything, Beatrice walked up to her specially prepared chair on the long table.

"Mother, how was your day?" asked Beatrice as she looked at her mother with a rarely seen smile on her face.

"Very good, things are going well," said Iris as she looked at her now fifteen-year-old daughter with a smile on her face.

After this, Beatrice did not say anything else, merely looking at her father and two-year-old brother with a slight smile on her face.

As she took a small bite of the meat on her plate, a surprised expression appeared on Beatrice's face, and after gracefully eating the rest of the meat Beatrice asked a question.

"Father, did you hire a new chef?" asked Beatrice as she remembered the extremely tender and juicy meat she had just eaten.

"Yes, so I see you like his cooking," said Renald as he took a bite of the meat himself before frowning.

"If it's to your taste I can have him make your meals," said Renald as he wondered why the meat tasted slightly worse than usual.

"No no, I want to ask him something about the food," said Beatrice as she let out a gentle smile.

After this small discussion, the meal continued.

Looking at the newly prepared sausage in front of him, Martin smiled, but before he could do anything else, two guards barged into his basement and immobilized him.

"What! Who are you?" shouted Martin, but rather surprisingly, he did not resist the guards.

Suddenly, martin heard three pairs of steps coming towards the room he was in, but the moment those three people walked in, an extremely surprised expression appeared on his face.

"Miss Beatrice, what did I do?" asked Martin as he surprisingly felt the two guards let go of him.

"Your meat is not good," coldly said Beatrice with no expression on her face.

Hearing what Beatrice had just said, Martin lunged toward her with a speed no middle-aged man should be able to have.

Before the guards could react, Martin was already close to Beatrice, but just as he was about to launch his attack on her, he flew into the stone wall behind him, crashing into it.

"Impossible! You are an official Knight," mumbled Martin before passing out, his apprentice Knight body having been almost broken by one of Beatrice's lightning-fast kicks.

"Miss Beatrice, should we execute him?" asked one of the guards, as the other three prepared to drag martin off to be executed.

"You can let him in his house, but burn it down, this is the last mercy I can give him," said Beatrice, causing sweat to appear on the guard's foreheads.

Unknown to the guards, a smile appeared on Martin's face as he heard this, as long as no one discovered what was in the house everything was fine.

After saying that, Beatrice exited the house, and soon after that, the house, alongside Martin turned into a burst of flames.

"Go destroy every single meal he made," said Beatrice as she walked back to the castle with the two guards.

Hearing what Beatrice had just said, the guards nodded with thoughtful expressions on their faces.

"Miss Beatrice, why do we need to?" asked one the guards with a scared expression on his face.

"I'm not doing this for my sake, rather for your sake, Do either of you know the kingdom's laws regarding commoners practicing cannibalism?" asked Beatrice, causing sweat to fall down the two guards' forehead.

"Understood miss Beatrice, we will destroy all meals made by him," said one of the guards before the two of them hurried over to the castle.

As the two guards ran over to the castle, this left Beatrice alone to slowly walk back.

"I will be back," mumbled Beatrice as she thought about how she would have to go away to another continent to learn magic, in fact Beatrice only learned of continents after her talent was discovered, never mind how to get to another one.

But even so, Beatrice did not feel any fear when thinking about going to a place so far away, the only thing she felt was excitement and a little bit of loss.

As she thought about her parents, Beatrice sighed before continuing to walk to the castle.

"Miss Beatrice, tomorrow morning you need to begin your journey to the capital," said an old maid as she followed Beatrice around.

"I now Elizabeth, you don't need to remind me anymore," said Beatrice before taking a good look at the maid behind her.

Looking at the grey hairs that appeared on Elizabeth's head in the past few years, Beatrice sighed.

"You should leave some tasks to the young maids, you should rest a bit more," said Beatrice before entering her room.
