Cleo

The council meeting was frustrating and boring at the same time. They discussed ways to take action against dragons. Maybe it was possible to strengthen weapons with magic? One even had the idea to catch a harpy to use its claws.

Cleo spoke out against it. It was a long way to the harpies and they were no less dangerous than dragons. In a very old book, Cleo had read as a child that harpies were immune to the magic of witches and wizards. Whether it was true, she did not know.

But Cleo didn't want to find out either.

After the council meeting, she rushed to Charlotte, who had already packed their luggage so they could leave immediately.

"Back already?" Charlotte smiled happily. "Which path do we take? Have you decided?", she asked, handing Cleo one of the two bags.

"If possible, I don't want to go through the area where the dragon was seen. So either through the fairy forest or past the marshland."

"When we walk through the fairy forest, which is insanity, we pass through the territory of the elves. If we walk through the marshland, we can decide. Elves, or wolves."

"Elves. The way through the mountains takes longer!", announced Cleo. "I'd rather avoid the fairy forest, but the vampires arrest refugees..."

"Then we start to pretend to be those in the steppe", Charlotte concluded. "Shall we go?"

"Of course. Our coachman takes us to a small inn. I instructed the guards not to accompany us. As usual, they were not thrilled. From the inn, we take public carriages to a small town and buy two fast horses from a breeder. And with these, we ride off." Cleo kissed her wife excitedly. "Let's find my little sister!"

Julia

Julia felt good. For the first time in days, she had slept well.

She sat by the river with her centaur friends Flordelis, Aurel, Kalle, and Amarillis. Leopold had also accompanied her. He was involved in a merciless water fight with Amarillis.

Julia relaxed with the other centaurs on the banks of the river. She was telling them about what Fiete had told her.

"You're going to be queen one day? If someone told me that, I would think they were crazy", Kalle murmured. "That sounds pretty weird."

"I think it's great!" Flordelis played with Julia's hair. She weaved flowers and grasses into her slightly wavy hair. "Imagine that! We would be friends with a queen!"

Julia smiled sheepishly. "I don't know what to make of it."

"Maybe the dragon is wrong!" Aurelius lay in the tall grass looking for images in the clouds. The conversation interested him less. "There! This one looks like a ship!"

Julia also looked up, following his gaze. "Hm... Or like a sword?"

"No. A ship!", protested Aurel immediately. "That's not what a sword looks like!"

"I don't know..." Kalle looked at the cloud skeptically. "To me, it also looks like a sword... Or a specific male organ?"

"Kalle!", scolded Flordelis immediately. Julia laughed in amusement.

"You know? I had a vision", she changed the subject. Before the conversation drifted in the wrong direction. In the direction of 'male body parts'.  "I saw an army and how I led it. There were centaurs, harpies... Different races."

"Oh!" Flordelis' mouth remained open.

"In that case, I would also see a sword in the clouds", Kalle grumbled softly.

"Maybe you're right. But... Eventually, that's exactly what will happen. So, no. I don't think Fiete is wrong. But I don't know if I want to be queen."

"Finja said the Pale Redbacks were thrilled with you. This is something special. They hardly respect anyone outside their tribe", Aurel said. "And not because of the two dragons. They are afraid of them, but they respect you."

Julia nodded. She wasn't sure if that was a good thing.

"My wings are all wet!" Leopold walked over to them. Not only his wings were dripping. Amarillis continued to splash in the water, shouting to him that his wings looked like a wet, sad flower. Leopold grimaced.

"Are you bringing the water to us?" Kalle laughed. "You're dripping! Flower!"

Peter

"Peter?" Fiete leaned against him. The two were sitting in the main room. They were alone there. Marko and Finn slept in the boys' room. Marko lay there as a wolf and Finn used his belly as a pillow. Peter had briefly considered painting the two, but then Fiete had pulled him into the main room. Flora, Hanno, and Elodie were visiting Lars and Clarissa. Kalle's parents.

"Yes?" Peter put his arm around Fiete, who immediately sighed contentedly.

"Do you know that I think you are beautiful? Did I tell you that yet?"

"I think so." Peter blushed.

"You think?" Fiete snuggled closer to him and grinned. "And what do you think of me?"

"That you are my best friend, and that you mean a lot to me?"

"And what else? Do you find me attractive? You definitely are!"

"Oh..." Peter was feeling terribly warm. Was it because Fiete leaned on him? The attention made him feel embarrassed. "Well... I don’t know. So... Yes? But... Um. Different from you."

"Peter? For me, it's not just friendship", Fiete said quietly. "I love you. And I know that friendship is enough for you and you feel different than me, but... I would really like to kiss you. Maybe more. Eventually..."

"I know. Fiete..." Peter stroked the dragon's hair. "I think I... Love you too. In my own way. But more..."

"And a kiss?", asked Fiete. "Just a small one? That's all I'm asking for. Then you'll know if you like it." He laid his arms on the low table and a curious smile crept onto his face.

"That's silly!" Peter grabbed one of the small, soft seat cushions they were sitting on in the main room and threw it at Fiete. The dragon blinked in surprise.

"Peter?" Fiete also grabbed a seat cushion and threw it at Peter. Within seconds, the two were involved in a pillow fight.

Laughing, they threw the pillows at each other until Fiete fell on Peter. Both looked at each other in surprise.

"May I?", asked the blushing dragon.

Peter nodded sheepishly.

He didn't know why he had nodded, but what he did knew was that he was being kissed. Fiete pressed his lips gently to Peters. He flinched in shock and nervously clung to Fiete's shirt. The kiss lasted only a few seconds. Fiete used the opportunity, but when Fiete's lips stopped touching Peter’s, Peter just blinked.

Fiete sat down and helped Peter up. The dragon looked at him questioningly.

"I... I don't know... What?", stammered Peter, frowning in confusion.

"It’s okay." Fiete sighed and wrapped his arms around him.

Emmie

Emmie and Peyo were sitting in the living room. In front of them lay vast amounts of fabric. A tailor had taken the measurements of the two and was discussing with Paula how much new clothes should be sewn. His colleague, an older, gentle lady, asked them which fabric they particularly liked and what style they liked. Peyo pointed overwhelmed to gray and dark blue fabric, holding on to Emmie with the other hand.

Paula had also instructed the tailor to bring some ready-made clothes so Peyo, and Emmie could choose what they liked. If the example fit, Paula planned to buy it as well. The two desperately needed clothes.

"I don't care!", Emmie said about the different fabrics. "It doesn't matter."

"Surely you have a favorite color?", the lady replied.

"Red!", cried Loelia. The little one sat on Emmie's lap and fidgeted with her feet.

"Red?" Emmie grinned. "Good. Red! My little advisor wishes for red."

"Reeeed!"  Loelia clapped her hands.

"Good. If that’s the case: Red for the pretty wolf and blue and grey for the elf! Do you both like other colors? Green?"

"Greeen! Purple!" Loelia pointed to Peyo.

"Green and purple for Peyo!", announced Emmie. She was suspicious of the whole situation, but she liked the toddler's eagerness.

"Emm, pink!" Emm. That's what Loelia called her. She called the elf Peo.

"Uh... No pink, please", Emmie said quickly.

"Pink!" Loelia remained relentless.

Peyo, meanwhile, looked skeptical at the selection of purple fabric.

After another hour, the two tailors left with a lavish order.

Loelia was now sitting on Peyo's lap. He played carefree with the little one until Paula approached them. She held a bag in her hands. Fritz held Nino in his arms.

"I still have a few things for you", Paula said. "Only small things, but..." She placed the bag on the pretty living room table. Then she pulled out a few books. She put two in front of Peyo and two she gave to Emmie. "I hope you enjoy reading. These are novels. And..." Then she took out two little stuffed bears, which she also gave them. "I know you're basically too old for toys, but a stuffed bear never hurts." She smiled.

"Thank you", Peyo whispered, staring at the books and stuffed animal Loelia was already reaching for.

"Bear!", she exclaimed happily.

"That is Peyo's bear", her mother said quickly.

"Why?" Emmie blinked in confusion.

"You are our guests, not our slaves. Binding spell or not. I prefer to see you as part of the family. If you wish for something else, you can say so at any time. Do you like reading?"

Peyo nodded.

"My best friend liked books..." A tear rolled down Emmie's cheeks. "Thank you." She grabbed one of the books, an adventure novel, and pressed the book to her. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that Peyo's cheeks were also decorated with tears.
