Chapter 77: Chapter 67 part 1

Peter

 

The weekend was here. He could see the arriving guests from the window of his room. Servants had taken out his wedding suit and stood ready to help him dress.

"I can do it alone!" Annoyed Peter sent them away.

The servants wanted to protest, after all, it was tradition, but he remained relentless. When the servants were gone, he turned to the suit. A black wedding suit. Peter wanted it to go up in flames. He left the suit and pulled out the box, which he hid in one of his wardrobes. He opened the box and looked at the garment, jewelry, and shoes inside. He had bought everything in one of the small shops in castle town. The saleswoman had been amused when Peter picked out this garment. He had also let taken the silly top hat with him, that Babette had forced him to wear. Without the stupid ribbon, of course. She hadn't noticed. With a smile, he stroked the light fabric of his garment. It was time to carry out his plan.

Even if his plan had originally looked a bit different... Although... No. Actually, his decision was made when he bought the contents of the box. Perhaps he had made up his mind much sooner than he realized.

On the outside of his closet hung a long coat, for the particularly cold autumn days. Peter smiled.

 

Babette

 

"You look beautiful!" Her stepmother had tears in her eyes. "Like a real princess!"

"Soon, I will be a princess!" Babette looked at her reflection. In her hair, she wore a beautiful silver tiara with yellow diamonds. Her dress was lavish and covered with sparkling diamonds, white and yellow. White tulle and white lace. Large, white fabric roses were sewn on the skirt. Her veil reached the ground. Large fabric flowers also adorned it. On her feet, she wore a sparkling pair of shoes. "No one will forget this dress!"

"Absolutely!", her stepmother agreed. "It reminds me of my wedding! I was so happy!"

"I know. I was there. You looked pretty."

"Thank you. Your father will cry when he sees you! I'm terribly excited! You're about to get married! And then you will start a new chapter of your life! As a princess! With little princes and princesses!" She wiped the tears from her face with a handkerchief and smiled at Babette. "I'm very proud of you!"

Babette smiled. Everything went according to plan.

 

Julia

 

"What if I fake a cold?" Julia did not want to participate in the tournament. The last week had been terrible and Julia hadn't improved most slightly with all the tutoring.

"That's not possible!" Sophie handed her another coffee. "Are you well prepared?"

"No!"

"I should be at my brother's wedding now!" Julia snorted. "Instead, I have to go along with this imposition!"

"It's a tournament, not an imposition Juli." Marko winked at her. "Where is your sportsmanship?"

"I'm sure I've never had any."

"It's going to go well." Finn looked at her pityingly. "And tonight we'll have plenty of hot chocolate!"

"That's at least something!" Julia leaned back in her chair. "I don't want to go there!"

Leopold got up from his seat and kissed her on the cheek. "And if I give you a lucky charm?"

"What kind of lucky charm?"

"You'll see that when you go."

"Ooooooh!" Marko wiggled his eyebrows. "What will that be!"

"Probably not what you're thinking right now!" Finn stuck his tongue out at him.

"What? My thoughts are always pure and innocent!" Marko crossed his arms.

"I hope so. That would be better for you!", grumbled Sophie. "Otherwise you'll have to sleep with me in my room soon!" She grinned into her tea. Marko just shook his head.

When Julia was on her way to the tournament, Leopold stopped her at the front door.

"And? Do you want my lucky charm?", he asked with a wink.

Julia nodded. "What kind of lucky charm is it?"

"You'll see!" He wrapped his arms around her. "A special lucky charm!" And he kissed her.

"Do you see that Finn?", she heard Marko say. "Exactly what I thought!"
