Getting out I meet up with Sakuta as is our usual routine. We've been going to school together since we became friends.
"Morning Sakuta," I say walking up to him.
"Good morning senpai."
"Let's go to the train station. We don't want to be late for the first day of school, do we?"
We start walking toward the station in comfortable silence.
I'm not really a fan of meaningless small talk. I think that people should be able to enjoy just comfortable silence without it becoming awkward. I think that if someone is actually friends with another person, they should be able to enjoy the silence and not feel obligated to do meaningless small talk.
When we reach the train station, I turn to Sakuta and ask, "Hey did you eat breakfast? I'm getting a cream bun. Should I get one for you too?"
"Sure Masashi-senpai. Thank you," he replied.
I went to the stall where they sell different types of bread and asked the lady at the stall for two cream buns. I paid her the money and she handed me the buns wrapped in paper with a classic, "Have a great day."
I go back to Sakuta and hand him one of the buns. I take a bite and it feels heavenly. The bread, with the perfect amount of softness, that it just melts in your mouth without losing its texture. The cream, with the perfect amount of sweetness such that it doesn't feel really sugary while also tasting like godly nectar.
I am pulled out of my reverie by Sakuta, "Dude, let's go, you can admire your wife later. We'll be late for school."
"Hey, if you can't appreciate food, at least let me appreciate it. Damn"
...
We reached the school just in time for the entrance ceremony. We go to the auditorium where we see the students segregated according to their respective years. So, I and Sakuta separated and went over to our respective years' groups.
"Good luck on your first day, Sakuta," I say to him before leaving.
He told me, "Good luck to you too senpai."
After reaching my group, I greet some of my acquaintances from the previous year.
I may be a loner but I'm not isolated. I actually look good enough to turn some heads. Plus my CHA stat of 35 probably makes a big difference. Some people have even asked me if I've started working out. The gamer body Is a crazy overpowered skill that will help me reach the looks of a perfect human while also making me immortal and giving me infinite growth potential.
I look toward Sakuta's group and see a beautiful silver-grey-haired girl with glasses standing beside Sakuta and looking at me. When she noticed me, she waved at me with a smile. I waved back at her with a smile and mouthed 'good luck,' to her.
She nodded back at me in gratitude. She's Futaba, another good friend of mine. She wears glasses and baggy clothes that seem a size too large for her. This has to do with a childhood trauma of hers. She actually has a bombshell of a body. She's just insecure about her body due to the old trauma.
I look around in my own group looking for Mai Sakurajima but I don't see her. No luck right now I guess.
Finally, the ceremony started and the principal came up and gave a motivational speech to the students and welcomed the first years to the school.
When the ceremony ended the first years were led to their classrooms by their seniors. After that everyone else was dispersed to their respective classes.
I entered my class, 3-A, and I decided to go to the seat in the middle of the row right beside the window. I want the view. It's really good from my seat. I don't really care much about the social shit. I agree with Sakuta's philosophy of having just 2-3 friends for life. I don't want hypocritical people who are my friends one day and the next boom they're bitching about some shit I did to other people.
I can still talk with anyone though. I'm not friends with anyone in my class but I'm not against talking to people either. I may not like making meaningless small talk but I can still make small talk with people for the fuck of it.
After some time of waiting, our homeroom teacher walked in and announced herself to the class.
"Good morning class, I'm your homeroom teacher for this year. My name is Masahiro Shinohara."
After that, she started our roll call. Apparently, Mai is also in my class, but she's not here today.
After that, the day finally started and I started zoning out cause I had already studied most of the things that were being taught.
...
It's now lunch break and I decided to meet up with Sakuta and Futaba. I'd rather talk to them than waste my time with the meaningless gossip here.
I think that being friends with Futaba is actually useful. She's the only member of the science club and that led to us regularly going there to spend all our free time. We basically have our own room in the school where no one would disturb us other than maybe the club's faculty in charge.
I reach the room and open the door. I see Futaba working with a flask and a burner mixing some brown chemicals with water. Wait, no. That's coffee.
"Hey, Futaba, should you be using school equipment to make coffee instead of I don't know, real science?"
"This is real science, I'm mixing a calculated amount of Coffea arabica in a hydro-lactose derivative."
I give her a deadpanned stare, "So, you're making coffee with water and milk?"
There is silence for 5 seconds after which I say, "Make some for me too."
I see a small smile on the corner of Futaba's mouth indicating that she's happy that someone can understand her science references. I can tell. We've been friends for a good while now.
She says, "Sure but I want you to bring me a cream bum from the cafeteria."
"Already got it, don't worry about it," I said showing her the wrapped bun. I already bought two before coming here.
I sit on the chair in front of her workbench and wait for the coffee to be finished.

~A Few Minutes Later~
The coffee was done and she handed me the cup and took the cream bun from my hand.
I thanked her and asked, "Where's Sakuta? He's usually here."
"He's out with Kunimi, something about girlfriend problems, I don't know."
"You should tell the guy about your feelings, be straightforward with the guy at least."
"Easy for you to say, You're not in love with him."
"Of course, I'm not. I prefer the female gender."
Futaba looks at me for 5 seconds without a reply.
I sigh and say, "Hey, it's up to you what to do. It's my job to give you advice and share my perspective as your friend. That guy has what I call 'Jock Brain'. Commonly afflicted to people who play sports professionally and don't have enough brainpower to think about much else. He is as dense as a black hole and unless you shout at his face that you like him, he probably won't ever realize it."
Futaba just looks at me for 5 seconds and says, "Open your lunch. I'm hungry," in a bad attempt to change the subject.
Sometimes I think that I've spoilt all my friends by regularly making food for them.
Futaba's probably the worst of them. She just happened to not bring any money or her lunch. This is understandable, she lives alone. She probably didn't want to make food for herself.
I decided as the generous friend that I am to share with her half of the lunch that I cooked for myself. After that, she just stopped bringing lunch altogether.
Instead, she insisted that I regularly use her club room as a personal chilling spot so I need to pay tax for the room. So, I now bring food for two people every day.
I sigh and bring out my lunch box. I don't push her because I understand that she's not ready to truly face her problems yet.
I open it up and we start eating. I ask her," How is it? I tried making something new this time."
"God this is amazing. It's like your cooking has magically gotten a lot better."
'Oh yeah? If only you knew,' I chuckle in my mind.
"Nice, that makes me happy. I've been putting in more effort to get better actually."
We finished up with the lunch and then we still had like half an hour for lunch to finish. I decided to chill around scrolling my social media looking for good memes and laughing at the good ones with Futaba. While she focused on her project that she will be showcasing at the annual science convention.
Soon the break ended and we returned to our respective classes. The rest of the day went by without anything noteworthy happening.
After the last lecture ended, I went back to my chill spot, i.e. Futaba's club room.
I open the door only to find Futaba already there working.
"How are you always here before me? I directly came the moment my lecture ended and you look like you've been here for ages. Do you leave your lectures early or something?" I ask rhetorically not really expecting a reply.
True to my expectations she keeps working on her thing and ignores me. I just went and started working on my own thing which is studying. Gotta keep that INT up to date.
After a while, Sakuta showed up and talked to us for a few minutes and then went home.
I stayed for a while, just because this place is actually pretty, good to just sit and study.
Futaba and I stayed there for 2 hours working on our own things. By the time we closed up and left, the time was 4 pm. I dropped her off at her house and went to the gym. I worked out there for 2 hours and then spent 2 hours practicing MMA with the instructor. I got home By 8 and spent an hour studying and then made dinner. Since I'd already done some meditation for half hour in the morning, I just spent half an hour meditating.
By then it was already over 10 pm. I just spent some time scrolling through memes and went to sleep.
The next day I followed the same schedule basically with a few minor changes here and there. I found out that Mai won't be attending school until May. Apparently, there are some family issues that she's dealing with. Then again, all this is information I heard from rumors. So I'll be taking it with a grain of salt.
For all I know, She'll show up tomorrow. After lunch with Futaba and after-school club, which I'm not actually a part of. I went to the gym for 2 hours again and worked on my MMA training for 2 hours with my instructor. I'll see if I can start learning another martial art.
I decided to push back my self-study to one hour later. I instead went to Sakuta's place at 8 and met with the bundle of joy that is Kaede.
I watched some Naruto with her and made dinner for both her and Sakuta. The girl squealed in delight with how much she liked the food, which is basically the greatest compliment the cook inside of me could receive.
With this, my daily routine will be 1 hour for my meditation, 2 hours for physical training, 2 hours for martial arts training, and lastly 3 hours for self-study and 3 more hours for studying in school.
This daily routine went on for pretty much the whole month until may the sixth rolled up. And boy was that a big day.
I got some mad increase in skills though for now. Seriously, at this point, I doubt I'm anything below superhuman. I learned a new martial art from my instructor, my physical stats are going way high with my INT stat. My WIS stat is lagging behind though cause I don't have any way to increase it other than meditation and some natural increases through regular meditation.
With the daily quests and bonus increases in stats, I've almost reached 50 in all stat points except WIS.
Meditating for more than an hour a day won't really benefit my mentality anyway. I don't plan to become a monk. So I'll have to find some other way to consistently gain the WIS stat.
I see that my Charisma went up on its own with my other stats which is pretty good.
With this out of the way, I'm ready to start the day.
