Chapter 2: Chapter – 1

"Hey Spi..." a voice called. Peter's consciousness began to comeback slowly.

"Hel-....-o" the voice spoke again, 'I was saved?!', peter grogilly thought to himself.

"HEY PETER!" Peter finally heard a complete sentence when he felt something hit him awake. Pain assaulted his face as if he got slapped hard.

"OUCH!!! WHAT THE HELL?!" Peter yelled back as he held his face in agony.

"It's alive...er.. It's concious!!" Celebrated the voice but its mick excitement dying down as it commented "about time too, it was getting old trying to wake you up!".

Peter finally looked at the direction of the voice and noticed an eerie shadowy figure. It looked like a man in a black robe with red eyes looking at him.

The figure spoke again "Rise and shine sleeping beauty!" It said cheerfully.

Before saying anything as the pain finally subsided, Peter looked around himself noticing that they were in a space made of stars, galaxies and nebulae. To Peter it looked surreal and amazing.

But seeing all this, only one thought came out of Peter's lips "I am dead... aren't I?!" He asked no one in particular, as it seemed he was asking the entity in front of him or even himself for that matter. He already came to an answer but he needed to hear it.

"To put it simply... YES!!" the entity answered without sugarcoating it.

Peter just stood there, taking it in and letting his mind process "so... I died in an alleyway, stabbed by a pity criminal after being homeless and alone after fighting all this time for the people, who didn't care enough to help me?!... " Peter talked to himself for a few minutes but then suddenly he started laughing softly "hahahaha...." which gradually turned to a full blown hysterical laughter with tears going down his face "...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

This went on for an unknown amount of time. The entity didn't disturb Peter or stop him from it and just waited there and it would have waited as long as Peter would need.

Eventually Peter's laughter died down and his tears dried. He looked at the entity and said "Sorry, that was unbecoming of me, a full grown ass man..." Peter apologized but then continued "so... where to now, heaven or hell?" He asked with his heart practically in his throat.

"Neither" the entity answered simply. But before it could explain Peter started talking "limbo huh?! Damn it even in death, I cannot die properly...." but then better was interrupted with a back handed slap.

"Would you let me finish?! Geez!!" Said the Entity. "That is the problem of smart people, you over think things too much!" Then the entity continued "name is Steve by the way, I am an intern under Lady Death, thank you for not asking!"

Peter cupped his face as it stung "but then reach an arm for handshake "hey Steve, name is Peter".

Steve shook his hand and said "I know!" Then he started talking again "let's get down to business, I am here to give you a second chance".

"A second chance?!" Peter asked in daze.

"Why yes dear customer, A second chance!" Said Steve "you see Peter, you lived your life selflessly and helped lots of people and stopped a lot of deaths from happening, which we, the entire death department, are thankful for as it saved us lots of paper work!".

"So we pulled a few favors here and there, long story short, we are gonna send you back to the past, with a few extra gifts" Steve explained.

"Oh, wow... tha-thank you, how far back?" Asked Peter.

"That will be a surprise!" Said Steve then continued "moving on to the gifts".

Steve made a ball of light appear "first would be elemental magic, you can only choose one element to to get an affinity for!" Steve stopped for a minute looking at Peter to make sure that he is keeping up with the conversation "earth, water, fire, air, light or darkness" the magical light orb changed color whenever Steve mentioned an element. "So what will it be?" He asked.

"Ca-can we hold off on this till I know what the other gifts are?!" Asked Peter as uis brain has already started to consider the possibilities for each option.

"The second gift is a, for the lack of a better term, is a self learning A.I. that will help you keep track of things and be a helping hand" Said Steve. "Don't worry, it us not gonna go all Ultron!" Steve chuckled.

Peter nodded and waited for Steve to continue.
"And last but not least since most good things come in threes, the ability to understand all spoken languages in existence".

"Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, you are going to keep your spider powers and memories from you first life" Steve added.

"Oh wow, that is.... thanks!" Said Peter not believing what is happening, but then he asked "what is the catch, there is always a catch!".

"There is no catch" answered Steve "to be honest, we always looked forward to your happy ending as we watched you, but it never came!".

Then he walked up to Peter and raised a finger poking him in the chest and said with an accusatory tone "you have been way too selfless for your own good, almost always put the needs and the good of others  above yours!" Then his voice got softer "it is not bad persay, but too much and you only bring yourself more misery, this time Live more for yourself and do what makes you happy"

Peter stood there trying to take in what Steve said as Steve went back to where he was standing before.

"Well, it is all in to you eventually, just make sure to not regret it!" Steve warned.

Peter nodded again at what Steve said, he was not wrong by almost all accounts.

Then finally Steve asked "so what element would you want?".

Peter then answered "******", with confidence.

"Alright!" Steve nodded "ready to go back?" He asked.

"Yes, and thank for everything!" Peter said with a smile.

Steve then clapped and Peter disappeared from the starry space "live well bambi!" Said Steve as he took off the robe showing.... (no spoilers!)
