Pursuit of power.
There have been various being since ancient times who ventured on the path of becoming strongest through whichever mean felt suitable for them.
Some chose the route of chaos and, to accomplish what they desired, destroyed every obstacle in between. And some decided to cultivate in silence and let their result show what true enlightenment seems like.
Very rare of the rarest known beings would have ever sacrificed those they love in order to attain their dream.
Using people who had their trust in you and trampling on their feelings so one can achieve what they strive for; might be one of the most hideous things to partake.
'Yet here I am….'
Sitting on the rubles of broken pieces of rock in a chaotic temple, all alone and cold. In front of me was the last step, which would help me reach the peak of humanity.
The seventh weapon of the Fallen God Mobius. The Crimson Spear of Mayhem.
I have passed countless barriers and obstacles to reach where I am, but in the process, I lost those who were the kindest to me. Who always stayed by my side yet never asked anything in return.
Yes, I pushed them into hell hole one after another to reach the place where I sat now. Holding the weapon would undoubtedly make me immortal and undefeatable but for some reason, becoming an existence without an end seems nothing less than a punishment.
What I wish to accomplish, what I may desire, would be fulfilled with the strength I carry, but I am sure I would never be able to smile.
The smile that those three brought up to me. The warmth they shared. The love they bestowed some selfish bastard like me… I don't think I can earn that anymore, even though I have become almighty.
'So what's the point in living anymore? '
I might be the silliest being alive who, after spending so many years and utilizing irreversible resources, reached the destination only to get retired from living.
But I don't feel bad about it.
Rather, the thought of meeting them…my beautiful wives on the other side of reality, puts a smile on my face. Yes, I feel more alive in that way.
Am I getting insane? Maybe, but who cares.
As long there is a slight hope to see them again, to see their smiling faces, to hear their melodious voice, to feel their presence around me would be worth sacrificing everything I have earned until now.
'Let's get on it….'
Sighing, I supported my body with my blade, which had been unscathed through this whole journey, before walking to the aisle, where levitated the spear, which might have brought even more destruction if I suddenly didn't have this plan of suicide.
Grabbing the lean staff of the weapon, I felt some of my life energy being sucked out of it. But well, since I am going to offer all my soul to the thing, I didn't mind such prudency.
Placing the shining silver tip to the left of my chest where I could sense that little thing pumping, I closed my eyes and thought them once again.
Yes, this is for the best. I am sure that death would be my eternal rest and might save this world from the maniac I would have become without their supervision.
'Here I come, guys…."
With a grin never leaving my lips, I thrusted the spear end inside my flesh as I felt the other weapons I own trying to resist the penetration.
But, well, I am their master, so there was no way my arsenal would not hear my command.
The tip neared my heart as I kept my gaze straight into nothingness while feeling the chills I had gotten used to. But unlike in the past, where I avoided death in whatever means I could, this time, I was accepting it with open hands.
My stance was firm, with no regret of dying whatsoever. Well, I did have regrets while living and kicking, so let's not talk about it now.
Many things I should have done, yet I stepped back. Many words I should have spoken, yet I sealed myself. Many emotions which I would have shown, yet I concealed them all.
Everything ends with this…final strike…
"KHAK! "

My life force would take time to leave my body, but I could feel the mortal thread severed as my eyes blackened steadily.
I have met many injuries and suffered a lot in the past; however, this death-causing wound was sweet as the last honey stick I ate with her.
Yeah, now I can finally attain what I desire.
Peace.

*SHLING*
As the lights from the eyes of the man disappeared slowly, a droplet of tears slid down his cheek, further dropping on the handle of his weapon.
As the man knelt on the floor because of strength depletion, a strange shine illuminated the hall like a bright sun; naturally, it also engulfed the dying man.
With a serene yet astonishing sound, a runic seal appeared over the weapon before it broke into small pieces. But the man had already fallen into a slumber from where no one could pull him back and show him what feat he has achieved.
As the light increased and the man vanished in its radiance, the place started rebuilding at a furious pace as someone tapped a rewind button.
Broken rubles formed back solid pillars. The ceiling with huge holes made for uncertain reasons started filling at an unbelievable speed.
Amidst such chaos happening around the vicinity, the man on the ground some seconds ago disintegrated into small light particles along with the spear. The sword he had remained in the place, and everything around it, just the man and his dream, vanished from existence.

"Hmm? Where I… "
Frowning my brows, I tried to adjust my consciousness as a blinding light generated my vision and made me disabled for a second there.
I was expecting a more gentle welcome from the other side, but contrary to my expectation, it seemed I was thrown to hell with a setup just the same as the room I used to live in during my teenage years.
A hurricane of nostalgia built inside when I saw the books and novels I used to read being aligned on the cupboard opposite the bed.
The more I looked, the more I got drowned in my memories, which nearly made me forget that I still was lying dead.
Clenching my fist, I scanned my whole body through a standard survey spell and concluded that I was fit and fine for some reason. There was no sign of impalement on my chest, nor I felt my flesh and blood unreal.
What changed was my life energy which has decreased a lot of degrees to the point I feel weak just by lying lazily on the bed.
'Fuck…let's see what's happening….'
I had a hunch that comes from the book I had read, but I didn't want to jump in shock before I saw it myself.
So the first thing I looked for was a mirror which I only got in my bathroom during my past life. Don't ask why, cause' I also don't know.
Turning the doorknob to my second home in those days, I walked bare feet inside before facing the six-by-six plate hanging on the wall.
Well, now I have the liberation to scream….
"Fuck!!! Did I get reborn like those light novels?!"
