Mads
"There you are!" A strange woman ran towards us. Levi resembled her, so she was probably his mother. Her eyes wandered to me. "And you must be Mads! My name is Svea." We had just reached the village when she came running towards us. This village was a lot bigger than my home. It was almost a city. Svea smiled warmly at me. She waited for an answer.
I nodded confused and looked at Levi, who put his arm around me.
"Are the others back?", he wanted to know.
The wolf shook her head. "Not yet. Come. We go home. Levi? Your father is taking care of Smilla right now and you know how it always ends! She should have been asleep long ago, but with all the excitement she is wide awake."
Levi sighed. "Come", he said to me, "Chaos awaits us. Welcome home." And he kissed my cheek fleeting, which made me cry again.
"I'll come with you", Noah announced, sending his two brothers home to tell his parents about their success. Apparently, I was supposed to meet them today. I felt completely overwhelmed.
We went to a pretty house. It was bigger than the house I grew up in. Clattering could be heard from a room. A few seconds later, a little girl came running toward us. She was full of flour. Some even trickled out of her thick curls. Svea and Levi groaned in annoyance.
"Dad and I are baking a welcome cake!", said the little girl and stood up in front of me. "Hello, new brother! Will you kiss Levi? Abbe said Levi wants to bring you to us so you can kiss a lot!"
"Uh...", I said blushing, but Svea interrupted me. Thank you. Thank you very much!
"Smilla!", she scolded.
"What!" The girl put her hands on her little hips. More flour trickled out of her hair. "But Abbe said that! And Abbe knows these things! He said Levi smells like a wolf in love!"
Noah laughed softly. "I'm sure he was right! Levi does smell like a wolf in love!"
Oh. Yes. The telltale smell when we wolves were in love. Did I already smell like it too?
"We'd better go to the living room", Levi whispered to me. "You have some peace and quiet there. Ok?"
I did not answer. The entire house smelled strange. The pack smelled strange. Noah followed us quietly, but he kept a polite distance.
Levi led me into a small, cozy living room. The walls were painted light blue. The entire room radiated calmness. We sat down on a dark blue sofa. Everything smelled terribly foreign. I leaned against him, overwhelmed. "How are you feeling?", asked Levi.
"I don't know. Can I really stay here?"
"Certainly!" A man about Svea's age came into the living room. He was also full of flour. "Hi, Mads. I’m Almin. Levi's father. And, of course, that of Smilla and Abbe. You will soon be able to get to know the two of them. Welcome to the family!" He offered me a flour-dusted hand, which I shook silently. Instead of answering him, I burst into more tears. Immediately, Levi wrapped his arms around me and I buried my face in his clothes.
"I'll go back to the cake", Almin murmured and hurried away.
"Noah?", I heard Svea call. "Your father is here!"
"Well, then!" said Noah. "I bet he's looking forward to welcoming Mads. I tell him that the two of you need a moment!" And he hurried out of the room.
"Levi", I sobbed. "I don't know what to do!"
"Nothing", murmured the older, lovely fragrant wolf. His smell calmed me down a bit. "Leave the rest to Alpha Aksel and Nilla. You belong to us now."
I didn't get to know Alpha Aksel and Nilla, as well as their sons, until the next morning, when they came to breakfast with them. Since I couldn't calm down at night, he and Noah had gone home and Levi had shown me my new room, while the other wolves discussed their future plans with my new alpha. Levi stayed with me and Smilla in the house, who first tried to sleep with me in the room. Levi could hardly convince her that I needed some time for myself. At night, I could not sleep and therefore sat terribly tired and silent at the breakfast table.
"We are very happy to have you in our pack", Alpha Aksel just said to me. His eldest son Noah nodded appreciatively.
"And we really had fun yesterday!", said Valdemar, giving Arthur a brotherly push. "We were able to let off some steam. It took a while for the wolves of Alpha Ava to realize that we were just distracting them!"
The name of my previous Alpha made me cringe. Levi immediately stroked my back. But then our breakfast was interrupted. Someone knocked frantically on the door.

Almin stood up to see who it was. He brought a young woman with almost yellow wolf ears to the dining room.
"Alpha!" She looked at Noah's father. "Alpha Ava is here! She demands her wolf back! “With her came several wolves of her pack.”
"Well then!" Alpha Aksel stood up and stretched. "I'll show her who the Big Boss is. Levi? You stay far behind us with Mads. We have to show them that Mads is well, so they can't blame us for treating him badly. Otherwise, they could get help from another pack! Boys?" Now he looked at his sons. "You protect Mads together with Levi. Then let's go!"
Wolf laws were complicated. If a wolf was kidnapped by another pack and mistreated, other packs had a duty to help the injured pack if it asked them and believed it needed the help. And my home pack was smaller than Levi's. This was an ancient law by which the packs had lived for centuries.
"I'll stay here with Smilla!" Svea kissed the little girl. Smilla snorted.
"But I want to come with you!", she grumbled. "I'm never allowed to go where it gets exciting!"
We followed the alpha couple to the village. There stood Alpha Ava and Jarl together with their two children, Beta Lifa and her wife Sif, as well as my adorable sister. My parents were nowhere to be seen. Hopefully, they were fine. When Alpha Ava spotted us, she growled angrily. Emmie winked secretly at me and I gave her a cautious smile. I would have loved to hug her, but Alva was not allowed to know that she had helped me.
"As you can see, the boy is fine. And: Hello. How nice to welcome you!" Alpha Aksel sounded cheerful. Next to him stood his wife, Levi's father, and Abbe. They growled too.
"He's one of my wolves. Hand him over to me and there won't be a fight!", the angry alpha wolf muttered. "His parents miss him. You stole him! The boy has a destiny. I reclaim the Omega."
"I don't think so. No. The boy is now part of our pack. Levi has found his partner in him, even though the two are still very young. We'll keep him with us", Noah's father objected.
"Then I'll challenge you to a duel!" Without considering her clothes or waiting for an answer, she turned into a wolf and jumped toward Alpha Aksel, who also transformed. If she won, I would have to accompany her back. I clung to Levi's hand.
"Don't worry!", he murmured to me and kissed my cheek. Noah and his brothers stood in front of us like a wall, a muscle wall, shielding me. I watched, as far as I could see, how the two wolves fought against each other. The fight was brutal. They rolled bitingly across the floor. I saw blood, but I didn't know who it was from. Eventually, Alpha Aksel overpowered my former Alpha.
Alpha Aksel turned back exhausted and stood as a naked winner in front of his pack. His left arm was bleeding. "The boy stays with us!", he said threateningly. "You lost!" But Alva did not accept this. She jumped on him and bit his arm. His wife growled, turned into a wolf, and pounced on the blood-soaked alpha wolf. Again a fight broke out. But it didn't last long. Alva was too exhausted and lost to the other wolf. Growling, Nilla pushed her onto the ground.
"Go now!" Alpha Aksel stood next to his wife and held his bleeding arm. "You lost twice."
"That can't be! We'll get help!", my sister shouted indignantly, but Beta Lifa pulled her away. "Other packs won't help us. It was a fair win and our alpha broke the rules. Besides, your brother is well." Nilla let go of the alpha wolf, who now hurried away with her pack, growling. And with them went Emmie, who gave me one last look. I smiled sadly at her.
"See? Everything is good!" Levi gave me another kiss. Then Noah wrapped his arms around both of us.
"Welcome home!", he said to me, and his brothers cheered. When Noah let us go to cheer and celebrate with his brothers, Levi brushed a few curls out of my face. I looked into his wonderful blue eyes and blushed again. Levi smiled.
"You're beautiful," he murmured, audible only to me.
"I know", I replied quietly. That made him laugh.
"You're a weird one!", he said, and finally, he kissed me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and sighed contentedly against his lips as tears rolled down my cheeks again.
We kissed until Levi's father cleared his throat. "Boys? Let's go home! Our breakfast is waiting. And Mad's new family!"
This made even more tears roll down my cheeks.
My new family.
My new pack!
(Yes, I was moved. Moved to tears. It was over. I was as free as I could be. I would never be an omega again. And I was with Levi and his family. I would have liked to say goodbye to Emmie again, and hoped she would visit me secretly soon. Would she?
By the way, Levi is an excellent kisser. Smilla will be pleased to know this.)
