Chapter 10: Chapter 08 ─ Jude from Banfield Household

Dangerous Jude or Jude the Yandere.

They were one of the many names the capture target Jude Gaia Banfield was called during the game.

For that reason, Erselica told me to watch out for him.

Despite his toxic and controlling behaviour, Jude was too popular, to the point of being the main capture target that overshadowed Tom as the main one.

Diana also told me that in the game, the good ending always involved Jude, no matter which route you chose, Jude always eliminated everyone at the end of their routes and then kidnapped the heroine to either lock her in a crystal and keep her beauty.

Kill her with his own hands and die with her afterwards.

Sell her at the border as a possible sex slave and even have her abused by others so that she would focus on Jude as her only love.

I don't understand why such a sick character was the main target for capture.

The female players of the game clearly had psychological problems, surely it was because of the heroine and the other people that the second game was a success.

Jude walked in and reached out his hand to grab Lucy.

I covered Lucy to keep her away from him.

I could hear Lucy say "Rudel-kun...".

But Jude's face showed his anger at my words.

"You're just a stranger to us, you're just a foreigner."

"You may have gotten away with killing Derrick's scum, but with me it won't be like that."

"I am the heir to the Banfield Household of the Great Six Nobles! Jude Gaia Banfield!"

"A peasant like you from a miserable little country like the kingdom is no match for us!"

"That girl over there is called Lucyelle Liz Vermillion. The heiress to the destroyed Vermillion Household. Lucy belongs to me! She's my wife!"

"I won't let anyone take my property!"

I couldn't take it anymore and punched him full in the face.

There was that idiot Anson smiling.

Jude came up to me with a rifle in his hands which was handed to him by a knight.

"Due to family inconvenience I had to be away, when I returned home I was informed that Lucy had been kidnapped. I didn't believe it and waited for the investigation to be completed and there I learnt that it was some maids that sent Lucy away from me."

"The idiots are paying with their bodies right now. I thought father had Lucy hidden until he told me she was here. I took many knights and airships precisely for this moment."

"By striking me a blow and proclaiming that you will not give me the priestess, you have made this an international problem."

"Rejoice noble of the kingdom! Now a war will break out between our nations if you do not return the priestess to me!"

"... What did you say?"

(This guy planned that from the beginning.)

(Not only did he want Lucy back, he also wanted to cause trouble for me.)

(The only solution to this problem is to send Lucy back, but I don't want to see her suffer again. I swore to protect her and I must do it.)

My hands were taken by someone, it was Lucy who looked at me with a warm face.

What I cared about is what I feel right now.

Inside me it feels like my heart is squeezing.

It hurts. It hurts a lot.

It's so heavy, like I'm having a heart attack.

Ixion approached.

"Master, I received a document from Jude's official, it seems it's a really serious matter. The war is real."

"I see."

I thought about many things.

First I thought about the capture targets.

Lucy told me that Tom was no good because she only heard rumours about him, she also knows who´s her fiancée is and she doesn't want to have contact with him.

She never met Romeo.

She says Zack is just an acquaintance.

Lugh is her sister's boyfriend since last year.

Linus is just a former teacher, and it would be weird for her to be with someone like that.

Therefore, there is no single capture target for Lucy to form a romantic relationship with.

Jude is a lunatic, there's no way the happy ending would be with him.

Besides, even if it did happen, seeing Lucy's state... I can only expect the worst.

"Master, they're drifting apart. What do we do?"

"I have fiancées."

"Lucy is just an acquaintance I'm nursing back to health."

"Then... why does my chest hurt so much?"

(All this time with him I thought it was my fault it turned out like this.)

(But it is his fault. I have to mark my space.)

Lucy pulled on the chain and Jude's hands hurt.

Blood was coming out of one of his fingers.

He looked at Lucy and asked.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Lucy faced Jude, unlike before, the light in her eyes burned like a flame.

"That's for me to say."

"At first I understood it was my fault you were like this."

"But now I realise it's not."

"You're wrong. You can't treat a person like that, as if they were a toy."

"Besides, I'm the Vermillion heiress as you say. You can't treat the future priestess as you please!"

Jude flashed the emblem in her hand. The necklace around Lucy's neck fell to the ground.

She was released.

But only to have Jude's hands entwine around her neck.

Jude was trying to kill Lucy.

"You're not only trying to oppose me, you're also defying me."

"I knew it. If you're not mine, you won't be anyone else's."

"Lucyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy──!"

Suddenly the ship shook.

"What's wrong?"

Jude walked out of the room without putting safety on.

He reached the cockpit and there he saw how the ship where Grams was, was being targeted.

"No! I don't want to die like this! Brother help me─!"

Were Grams' final words before perishing like the other attached airships.

In the distance they saw how using a bazooka, was Battler attacking them.

Jude became angry.

"That idiot really wants a war. Contact the allied guard and send in all combat forces!"

"We can't!"

"Communication is dead."

"The hell are you talking?"

Suddenly they were attacked by robots who were bringing the ship down to the ground. Jude shouted to some of the sailors.

"Grab your armour and follow me!"

They all arrived at the ship's hangar and climbed into their armour.

Jude's armour was a very beautiful one called "Ignia". It was red in colour and had metallic wings.

After leaving the ship, they watched as it was the only one intact, the robots came in and knocked out everyone but Lucy.

Jude got angry and confronted Rudel.

"What the hell do you think he's doing, nobleman of the kingdom?"

"If you were thinking of apologizing, you missed your chance now!"

"Shut your mouth."

Two axes flew from his pack into his hands.

"I decided to protect Lucy."

"If you or this country is a danger to her, I'll take you both out!"

Rudel sped up and Battler went straight for some armor slashing.

Jude luckily dodged it.

The remaining armor approached, began firing at Rudel.

Rudel didn't make life difficult for himself.

From the back of the backpack, compartments opened and sent missiles at their targets.

They all exploded.

Jude began to sweat.

Rudel didn't care about his enemy and proceeded to kill everyone present.

Jude was an attractive young man with a good future as an heir.

For that reason, his physical or combat skills were not necessary.

He had a good physique due to his father's genetics.

For Jude, it was normal for knights to protect him.

So, he was sweating.

The trained knights who were categorized as Grand Knights to protect every great noble's family were falling one by one without difficulty.

"Young master, run away!"

One knight shouted as he acted as Jude's shield.

Before Jude noticed, all the armour Jude had gathered was destroyed, only he and Rudel remained.

Jude drew his sword and the blade turned red, a ball of fire began to grow from the tip.

"I will not fall for anything in the world!"

"I will show you the power of Banfield Household! My power!"

Jude threw the fireball straight at Rudel, he slashed it crosswise and it exploded covering him in flames.

Jude laughed at that stupidity he thought.

But he saw Battler coming out as if nothing had happened.

Battler rushed up under his nose and placed his axe under his right arm.

With a single slash he chopped off his arm all the way to the shoulder.

After losing an arm, Rudel spat at Jude.

"That's all you can do?"

"Using only a bazooka and no need to use my airship I could take them all out. Are you sure a war is a good idea?"

"I'm inside your territory, so this is a conquest, right?"

"In that case I declare myself the winner."

"You haven't won anything!"

"Shut your mouth, loser."

Rudel spun around and with a kick sent Jude to the ground. Severely damaging his armor.

The hatch was exposed, Battler grabbed it and using minimal force ripped it off.

He then pulled Jude out and Rudel opened his hatch.

Jumping down, he sat on top of Jude.

"From the moment I saw how you mistreated Lucy. I've always wanted to do this!"

Rudel's fist came down and punched Jude in his face.

It wasn't once or twice. It was repeatedly.

"Is that how it felt to raise your hand against a girl defender?"

"Did you like hitting her?"

"Did you feel better hitting her?"

"Well what do you think? I do!"

Jude's handsome face was getting disfigured.

"Hitting a scumbag like you makes me so happy!"

Rudel's blows were so brutal that the floor was filling with blood.

Rudel's fist was stopped by a hand.

It was Lucy who stopped him.

"No more..."

"Please no more..."

"But. This guy hurt you!"

Tears were streaming down her rosy cheeks.

"Even if he did. You're taking the same path he did. Does that make you feel better?"

Rudel's angry expression was slowly erasing.

"I'm sorry."

"But I can't stand what he did to you."

"It's all right. I don't care anymore."

Lucy sat up and hugged Rudel with all her might.

"I don't care anymore. Why you're here now."

"Rudel-kun. I'm in love with you."

Rudel's eyes widened like plates at this sudden confession.

Ixion stepped closer to say.

"Master. A fleet is coming, we've gotten ourselves into big trouble."

Rudel took Lucy's arm.

"Right now, that doesn't matter to me."

"Are you seriously going to let this matter drop like it's nothing!? Randolf!"

The six great nobles gathered together.

Cliff was yelling at Randolf about what happened.

Randolf discovered several things.

Among them Cliff's real target.

The heads of Lunor Household and Wayne Household supported Cliff, even Randy, who supported both sides, but now it was clear who he was backing.

Linus was the only one who supported Randolf.

"Acting Chairman, Banfield-dono and the others are right."

"This is an offence and must be punished at all costs."

"Linus. Why punish one who defended himself?"

"The girl Lucy, she was the count's property. That was the agreement we made."

"Cliff-dono's son caused a lot of trouble for her and even kidnapped her. This is a problem between the count and the heir Jude-kun."

"But Acting Chairman, that doesn't matter. If the information that she is really part of the Vermillion Household."

Randolf looked earnestly at Randolf.

This action caused two of the great nobles to lose their support for him.

Randolf walked over to him and sat down next to him.

"How did it go?"

Rudel asked as if he were a close friend.

Randolf took out a cigarette and lit it.

"It's been a long time since I've been so stressed out. Thank you for that."

"I'm sorry, but I couldn't let him take Lucy."

"... Is it true what he said? That she was from Vermillion Household."

"Yes. That's what Lucy said."

"I understand."

Randolf almost immediately stubbed out his cigarette and stood up.

"This is something you say in a meeting, but to save you time I'll tell you."

"Your punishment is banishment."

"You will never set foot on Aster again in your life... but, it won't be now. It will be when the second semester is over."

"Enough time for you and Lucy to settle your affairs and not return to this country."

Rudel stopped Randolf.

"Wait a minute, Randolf-san."

"...?"

"Are you... are you doing this for Lucy?"

Rudel wanted to know Randolf's motivations, he commented simply.

"Not at all. Just that little girl is trouble, she'd better go and not stay."

To Rudel, it looked like Randolf was lying.

He flashed a slight smile when he mentioned that Lucy would be leaving.

"Enjoy what time you have left. Nothing will happen to the kingdom either for your fault."

After he left, Rudel commented.

"Then I'll be leaving soon, huh?"

"In the end I really did get involved in the plot by changing things."

With Lucy and Randolf's declaration, the plot changed so much that it could be considered a fork in the game's road. As Rudel faced reprisals from the foreign nobility.
