Chapter 2: Prologue (Volume 1) ─ A new beginning

I always wondered, what would my life be like if I acted the way I really want to?

I am Rudel von Bradford at present, I am in a fantasy world which turned out to be a game world.

A lot has happened this week, my head is a mess.

Worst of all, a few hours ago I got engaged.

I'm freaking out.

I told two floating spheres that were with me, Ixion and Bellion─ Bell, about my past.

These spheres are from an old humanity that couldn't use magic, the new humanity can use magic, there was a war in the past between the two I was told.

But that doesn't scare me, I'm scared of what will happen now.

I have been promoted to a count, tonight two girls will arrive soon.

I am afraid.

I always let people down.

What if they reject me?

What if they regret engaging with me?

Disappointment in others is something I always achieved.

I was fired under the concept that I was useless.

I was never able to finish college.

My aunt and uncle kicked me out of the house.

I always thought that distancing myself from others was a good idea to avoid getting hurt.

But now I don't know what to do.

I was looking for my stress pills in the drawer, there are no more.

"I need my medicine, bring me more please."

"I refuse. First of all, Bell and I collected everything and got rid of them."

Ixion used to be loud about using medicine, but when he was tired, he would prepare the medicine without saying a word.

However, only today he resisted me strongly.

Ixion looked at me with his one red eye.

"What's wrong?"

There was something like that before.

I'm really terrified, I keep sweating.

If I can't sleep, it wouldn't be a bad idea to talk to them.

Both of their cheeks were a little red, probably because they just recently came out from taking a bath.

Both of their hair was a little damp.

Alisa looked straight at me.

"Rudel, it looks like we were naively thinking."

"Huh? Was there a problem? Let's check with Ixion and Bell..."

Airi, who closed the door and locked it, had red ears.

"We were waiting for you to be ready, but we didn't know when it would happen, so Alisa and I decided."

What were they talking about?

It is a country called Aster Supreme Kingdom. An energy powerhouse unlike the Altfode Kingdom which is barely a grain of sand in the world.

Bell stayed with the girls to protect them.

In my case I had to come for that sequel and stop the final boss from destroying the kingdom.

Worst of all, the idiots and Erselica came with me.

I turned around and watched them playing on the deck of Schwert, my new airship replacing Brunhilde, which was sunk during last year's war against the commonwealth.

I sighed and said to Ixion.

"Hopefully it will all be over quickly, I want to go home."

Aster Supreme Kingdom, a country composed of seven islands the size of continents, forming a super continent.

They are all united by the roots of a great tree called the Sacred Tree.

In one of the classrooms of the Aster Academy, a meeting was taking place to verify to which classroom the new students would be sent.

The leader of this group was a teacher who also acted as director.

A man in his early twenties, brown hair combed back with a lot of hair gel smeared on it making it spiky.

His face had the expression of a sly fox.

He was Viscount Ressel, Peter Le Ressel.

Peter would go through the documents looking for foreign students from prestigious families and tutor them.

Why would he do this?

He wants to have links with future important young people from different families.

"Rejected."

"Approved."

"Approved."

"Guh, rejected."

His method of sorting was quick and perfect.

He paused when he noticed two documents.

One was from Rudel and the other from the crown prince of the kingdom, Liam von Altfode.

"Umm, an upstart count."

"It says here that until recently he was a country baron, rejected."

His expression of displeasure at Rudel was clear.

"I'm not interested in those who have growth, I'm interested in those who already are."

Peter thought that the important thing in a business relationship was the actual.
