Hi there!

First of all, I really want to thank everyone who gave this story a read. I didn't expect it to be this big, really. I was purely writing because it's a hobby of mine, but nevertheless I'm glad that I managed to write something that some of you enjoy. I know something titled like this would kind of scary, but don't worry.

The story is not going to be abandoned.

I know that the updates have been extremely scarce this past year but I promise you that Ai's story will each a proper ending.

So what's this message for?

This message is to let you know that I'm making some changes to the earlier chapters. It won't be anything big that changes the general plot, but it will be some changes, especially towards the minor plotholes that I'm sure many of you have discovered before. I'm uncomfortable with how it's there, and I want to fix it.

That's the general news that I want to say. I'm sorry for the inconvenience that this brings, and I hope some of you don't mind. I also understand if this makes you not want to read the story anymore, I'm still grateful that you gave my story a shot.

Here I want to explain a bit of context to this decision. You don't have to read this at all, it's nothing too important, but I still want to explain a few things.

When I first wrote this story, I had no plans on where to take it. I just wanted to write about a game player who can deeply interact with the game NPCs. So I was basically just emptying whatever my brain came up with on the spot, I mostly went with the flow. I never really planned anything further. This is why most times you see a lot of inconsistencies with some elements of the story, it's because I couldn't come up with something to use the prewritten elements.

For example, if you remember the vial that Ai used to tame Athens. I wrote in that vial just because. I didn't know what I was going to do with it, but I just wrote it in and then came up with the actual use of the vial, after the chapter had already been uploaded.

This was how I wrote the earlier chapters. Of course now, I usually brew ideas in my head a bit more.

Because of that process, it created many plotholes and just weird stuff that never became anything. I also sometimes forget a lot of stuff that I wrote before like Ayn's appearance and some of his abilities, which is why some of them don't get used a lot of times, and I know a lot of readers picked up on it.

All of these issues gradually became a source of anxiety for me. I would constantly wrack my brain trying to figure out how I could fix the issues without rewriting stuff, and it gave me a big amount of anxiety that made stay away from writing the story.

So after almost a year of not figuring out what to do, I've decided to do this. I want to go back to the earlier chapters and fix all the issues that have caused me distress. I know it seems like something small and shouldn't be causing me anxiety or distress, but the story has grown so big and has more readers than I thought. I do not want to disappoint people who used their time and energy to give my story a shot.

Once again, I really want to thank you for reading. Thank you if you've actually read all this venting. And I know it's weird to go back and fix the plotholes and mistakes mid story, but I hope you understand that it's also giving me some peace of mind, and finally removing one of the sources for my anxiety.
