Chapter 12 Part 1: Orchids in a Greenhouse
She claimed to be 19 years old, but her calm temperament and cold piercing eyes made her seem like someone who wasn’t of her age. Then, everyone in the warehouse flocked around her as if attracted by her.
What an overwhelming charisma!
Kwon Seong-Min then made a sudden conjecture, that maybe the only way for him to live was by sticking to this person’s side. So he will never let that person die, he’ll stay with her and survive somehow. That was a promise he made to himself.
However, Seo-ha is a person of few words.
Everytime a monster appears, she would somehow solve it by herself. She wouldn’t say anything even though she was slightly hurt in the process. Due to his Reconnaissance Skills, She would often keep Seol Min-Jeon by her side, but she would barely even talk to him.
He wanted to ask If she was crazy when she decided to light the Cloudy Oil whale with a lighter.
However, Han Seo-ha returned with a very nonchalant expression, and Kim Tae-byeong, who had a part of his hair burnt, was smiling brightly, so he swallowed the question and said something else instead.
“You guys did well.”
A feeling of worthlessness washed over me at the same time.
“I wanted to help too…”
Kwon Seong-Min was surprised when he said those words. He had always been aware of his position since young, so he never felt envious nor greedy over something beyond his means.
I wanted to help too. However… How?
It was an extravagant word for a weak person without strength nor authority to utter. However, Han Seo-Ha did not pay much attention to it. It seemed like she thought of it as simply words of modesty, that had no other meaning. Kwon Seong-min felt somewhat upset. A subtle displeasure welled up inside him, he doesn’t like the feeling of being useless.
So when he reached the indoor gym and met Choi Woo-do, he had no idea how hard he gritted his teeth to avoid making any mistakes.
“You are quite greedy.”
Choi Woo-Do suddenly evaluated him that way.
“Why don’t you learn more under me…”
Only then did Kwon Seong-min recognized himself. He was indeed greedy.
He had always known his worth and bowed his head to people who are superior than him. However, he couldn’t stand it because he had always been greedy.
Han Seo-Ha.The desire to stand beside that radiant person grew every passing day.

He had kept himself busy for a while. There were so many things to do, that he even wondered how Choi Woo-Doo handled things alone before when he wasn’t there. He had to facilitate the food and water distribution for each day, assign scouting missions and guard shifts. He even had to determine where and how new survivors fit into the existing system.
His head was in a mess, but he was also very proud of his work. Kwon Seong-min felt like he had become a king. There was no system in this indoor gym that his breath could not reach, and there was no member he could not grasp.
The human resource that would run this small community efficiently were fitted together in my mind like they were machine parts.
So whenever Han Seo-ha stopped by to report after her missions, he felt an indescribable sense of satisfaction. He would often stand next to Choi Woo-Do and listen to her report.
Whenever we converse equally and discuss about what area to protect and what area to scout, I had to struggle not to smile.
Choi Woo-Do noticed his reactions and joked about it. However, He always thought that he only had feelings of comradeship and self-expression when it comes to Han Seo-Ha. It wasn’t romantic or anything.
He voluntarily participated in the Cerberus Subjugation Squad. Han Seo-ha would have been able to command everyone alone, but he volunteered because he had been confined inside the gym for a while now. Also, he also wants to see Han Seo-Ha’s splendid work again. It was sort of like a fan spirit.
-My master… Want…
When Cerberus dared to say such a thing.
– To meet you.

Kwon Seong-Min couldn’t even breathe. He felt absurdly weak and helpless at that moment.
I struggled so hard to be able to stand side-by-side with Han Seo-ha, but in the end the reality was like this. The intensity of the situation made him petrified and feel like he was close to death’s door. He couldn’t even utter a single sound.
When he was about to collapse from that sense of shame, Han Seo-ha struck him with an even more decisive blow.
“So what about me?”
“What?”
Sadly, Han Seo-Ha asked me back as if she heard something extremely unexpected. It’s like she’s asking me, ‘Who are you?’
Kwon Seong-Min felt as if the world was about to collapse.
Yes. I know. All of this were just his one-sided idea, and for Han Seo-Ha, Kwon Seong-Min was nothing more than an ‘Office worker who works well’.
I can praise her for her hard work, but I can never be her colleague.
“Are you okay?”
“She left. Without saying goodbye.”
Kwon Seong-Min was surprised that he was calmer than he initially thought. Was it because he had already prepared his mind in advance? On the contrary, An Yu-soo was unable to hide his emotions and showed a distorted face.

“She’s gone… Yes.”
“It seems like she left without even looking back. She left so suddenly last night.”
It was a sarcastic tone, but Kwon Seong-Min knew that this was just An Yu-Ra’s way of expressing her grief. Come to think of it, why did these twins come to Kwon Seong-Min early in the morning?
“Why did you come?”
“Do you know. Where Seo-Ha-Noona went?”
Ah so that’s what it was.
Kwon Seong-Min let out a small sigh.
These two had been strangely obsessed with Han Seo-Ha for quite awhile now. Well, Han Seo-Ha seems to be the only one who can handle their arrogant tempers. Even Mr. Su-il seemed more like a baby-sitter rather than their leader.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you that.”
In fact, even Kwon Seong-Min did not know. This is because Han Seo-Ha never told anyone about it. She probably thought there was no need for her to tell them where she was going.
“Why? Are you afraid we’ll follow her?”
She made a sloppy laugh. Kwon Seong-Min stared straight at An Yu-ra.
“Well, without us, there wouldn’t be a proper scout in this gym.”
Obviously, the twins were an important force in this gym. Even Kwon Seong-Min can recognize that fact.
“Do you think you’ll be able to survive on your own like Seo-Ha if you leave?”
An Yu-Soo hesitated after hearing my words.

TL NOTE:
I am kinda’ feel like Kwon Seong-Min has the tendency to become a villain. I don’t know, he has that sort of personality where he might go haywire because he felt weak. Anyways hopefully not. I still have a little bit of a good impression of him. Also, I just don’t want anyone of the Supermarket Team to betray Seo-Ha or to go bad. :<
